Challenges

Story

TIMELINE: Either corona has caused Survivor to have to have a smaller crew, and therefore a smaller cast, or just replace your least favorite season from somewhere around 2006-2009 with this lmao

Day 1

A beautiful Rwandan chorus is heard singing in the background singing in traditional style, as beautiful shots of the Nyungwe forest are shown. Many animals are shown; elephants chilling in the water, giraffes eating some leaves, lions growling, and zebras running. The music dies down a bit as we hear Jeff....

Jeff: This is Rwanda. A beautiful country with dangerous wildlife, rich culture, and dense forest.

We see shots of different ethnic groups of Rwanda, as well as gorillas fighting, and a shot following a river as it snakes through the green forest.

Jeff: It's a land where gorillas, elephants, and lions live together in this dangerous, but beautiful landscape, which is full of trees and hills, giving it the nickname the Land of a Thousand Hills.

We see a shot of many tree-covered hills with mist above them, and the camera follows the hills until we go back to Jeff...

Jeff: It is here in this rainforest where there will be 16 Americans battling it out for the next 39 days....

A shot of two local Rwandan men guiding 16 people through the Nyungwe forest is shown as Jeff's voice is heard narrating....

Jeff: As they are being guided through the jungle, they are anticipating an experience like they've never been through before.....they come from different walks of life

A quick transition back to Jeff. As he talks, we go back and forth, from the brand new cast, then back to Jeff, who is standing in front of a line of trees.

Jeff: It is the ultimate challenge. These 16 Americans, all from different walks of life, will be forced to build a brand new society here in the Nyungwe rainforest, where they will be left with all the wild animals who've called this place home for thousands of years. These total strangers will have to work together to overcome the elements, and to overcome each other. They must learn to adapt, or they will be voted out. In the end, only one will remain to claim the million dollar prize.

(We now see Jeff standing on top of a Rwandan hill, where endless tree-covered hills surround him)

39 days, 16 people, 1 survivor!

(intro)

The marooning

The next place we are taken to is a clearing where Jeff is about to introduce the 16 castaways to the next season of Survivor. In this clearing are many Rwandan locals showing off their culture. There are many Rwandan-style huts surrounding Jeff, and there are many locals who are singing and dancing, and there are people of all ages; elders looking at the 16 players arrive, children laughing and pointing, and adults looking over their children, making food, or contributing to the singing and dancing. The 16 players follow the locals in and are looking around them at all of the locals, smiling at children, looking at the dancers, and some are also eyeing Jeff. He is standing in between several adults, and in front of him are two mats. The locals instruct the contestants to stand on their mat, and the contestants know what they mean. The contestants who are on the yellow tribe go to the yellow mat, and the same for those in red. The singers then end their song and let Jeff introduce the season.

Jeff: Welcome to Survivor: Rwanda

The contestants all cheer and woo (Hwang)...

Jeff: We are currently in Rwanda, standing on a land with thousands of years of history behind it. I'm happy that we had all of these locals here help me greet you all, I know that they are very excited to show their culture with you all as you partake in this adventure on their land. Woman in the front here, what is your name? You look so excited to be here!!

The woman Jeff is referring to is an older woman, overweight and slightly out of shape, a little quirky looking, almost that-one-friend's mom type of vibe.

Kim: Kim! I am very excited to be here Jeff! That was just the most amazing welcome, and we are all honored to be playing here! Thank you all!

Several locals are shown smiling and nod.

Jeff: Alright, I know you're all excited, but before we get into the fun stuff, a big part of Eastern African culture is their greetings. So....I know you'd like to get into things now, but first we will all take an opportunity to get to know each other. Man on the end, introduce yourself and go down the line.

A chubbier man with dark hair, stubble and glasses, a bit more on the awkward side

Kevin: Nice to meet you everyone, my name is Kevin, I'm from Wyoming, and I make cheese for a living.

A young, beautiful girl with dark hair, with a more outgoing vibe, mixed with Aubrey Plaza vibes. Has a devious/playful smile when talks

Kyle: Hi, I'm Kyle, I'm a student from Wisconsin.

A taller man with a beard and a very deep voice, and slight dad bod. Already kinda dirty

Kendrick: I'm Kendrick, I'm a construction worker from Buffalo, and I got two beautiful daughters back at home.

Brianna: What's good guys! I'm Brianna and I'm a flight attendant.

A beautiful woman who has and has a thick East African accent, and a bubblier voice

Mbuke: I'm Mbuke, I was born one country over, and I'm a nurse.

A more overweight black man with a New Orleans accent, and a very laid back vibe

Leslie: What's good y'all, I'm Leslie, I'm from New Orleans, and I make food.

Survivorleslie "I’m just a *expletive* from New Orleans *laughs*!! I don’t know what I’m doing out here. I don’t go places very often, I’m definitely one to stay where I’m comfortable. MY wife really said, "you'd be good out there Leslie!" Well they made me the oldest and the fattest (*expletive*) out here! (*laughs*) Maybe if they give us some spices I can make some food for these people, cause that’s about all I can do."
Leslie King

A short, scrawny guy with a slightly nerdier vibe

Andy: Hi guys, I'm Andy, and I'm a computer programmer.

A more ethnically ambiguous looking guy who is athletic, but just slightly in the process of getting a dad bod, with an outgoing vibe

The older woman who Jeff asked a question to, mom vibes, quirky, more out of shape

Kim: Hi, I'm Kim. I'm a world traveler, a mom, a teacher, and Jeff Probst's number one fan!

(A shot of Jeff Probst awkward laughing)

A redhead woman who seems very focused and really annunciates when she speaks

Katie: I'm Katie, and I'm a pharmacist from Dover, Delaware.

A woman in her early forties with freckles and a very exciting expression and sweet voice

Liz: I'm Liz, I am a wildlife specialist, and I've actually been to Rwanda before!

Survivorliz "I have every little kid’s dream job. I am a zoologist and I work with wild animals! I think the part of my job that really prepares me for this experience is always being in these sort of environments, I am always meeting, you know, locals, and I’m always learning something new. I’m 43, which for a woman on Survivor is more than likely considered old, but I still feel young enough to take on this adventure! They'll be surprised by how much I'll come in handy!"
Liz Baker

A young woman who is very articulate and looks strangely a lot like Linda Cardellini in the Scooby Doo movie, and a slightly gravelly voice

Allison: I'm Allison, and I'm currently getting my masters in sociology.

A bodybuilder of East Asian descent, very laid back vibes and a thicker Japanese accent

Yutaka: I'm Yutaka and I am a college professor.

A very fit blasian guy who has a sweet hairstyle and seems like a very chill guy

Kwan: What's good y'all, I'm Kwan, and I am a personal trainer.

An athletic young white guy who has a more confident, but not douchey vibe to him

Josh: I'm Josh, I'm from Toledo, Ohio, and I'm in the process of making a career change in life, and I'm a big fan of the show.

Jeff: Alright, so now that we know each other....let's get into it! Here are your buffs. You have already been divided into two tribes, Kagera in yellow, and Ruzizi in red.

Jeff throws the buffs to Aaron, and the contestants hand out the buffs to each other.

Jeff: Let's take a look at these tribes. Wearing yellow, we have Allison, Kendrick, Kwan, Aaron, Kim, Leslie, Katie, and Yessica. You are all members of Kagera. Wearing red, we have Mbuke, Kyle, Yutaka, Liz, Josh, Kevin, Andy, and Brianna. You are all members of Ruzizi..

The contestants both cheer for their respective tribes.

Jeff: Are you all ready for your first reward challenge?

Everyone cheers and claps.

Jeff: Alright. When you came in, the village behind me all welcomed you to their land. Now, they will be a part of your first reward challenge. Behind me, somewhere in this village, is a scroll that has your first reward written on it. You may ask whoever you can for the scroll, but they have been instructed to only give it to you if you ask the right person. Whoever finds the scroll wins the reward for your entire tribe. Is everything clear?

As Jeff talks, multiple people react and nod along. Kevin has an especially big reaction.

Jeff: Man on Ruzizi with the Hawaiian shirt, what's your name?

Kevin: Kevin!

Jeff: What's the big reaction for?

Kevin: I'm just nervous Jeff, that's all. I'm not good at all at finding things, so this should be interesting...

A shot of Katie rolling her eyes and Brianna laughing and nodding is shown.

Jeff: Should be interesting....and your challenge begins right now!

The contestants all take a few seconds to realize that the challenge has abruptly started, and the castaways all start running off to different sections of the small village. The contestants are shown asking locals, with a chaotic editing style, immediately from one person to the next....

Kevin: (*to a couple women*) Do you have a scroll? (*they shake their heads*)

Kendrick: (*to a couple men*) Do you have something? (*they don't do anything*)

Kim: (*to a couple children*) Do you have anything for me?? Anything? You're all adorable! (*they just smile not doing anything*)

Yutaka: Can I look under this?

A woman is shown nodding as Yutaka is shown looking under the grass roof. Next we see Kyle, who is talking to a few teenagers...

Kyle: Are you gonna eat that?

Kyle is shown pointing to a chicken in a coupe. The 21-year-old is clearly having fun messing around.

Kyle: Is there a scroll in its throat? Can I peak?

There is a clear language barrier as the teenagers blankly stare. Kyle says "Alright, good talk," and then heads off.

Survivorkyle "I like how vague Jeff was. I mean, I had no idea what I was supposed to be looking for. Like, is this like your classic message in a bottle? How big is this thing? I just kinda stopped being so careful and just went up to people pointing at places it very obviously wouldn't be, just cause why not. My brain was like (*blank stare*)"
Kyle Murphy

Katie is then shown talking to a group of men and women, annunciating when she is speaking.

Katie: Do you have a scroll for me? Is it back there, are you cooking something? May I look in the cooking supplies? (*woman shakes her head*) No? Ok...thank you.

(*Yutaka is shown looking under the roof still, Kim is shown laughing with the child*)

Mbuke: (*to a group of kids, in Swahili, subbed*) Do you understand me? I can't speak Kinyarwanda, can you understand me, though?! (*in English, to the camera*) Ah!!! They don't understand me!!

Liz: (*to Kevin*) Where have you looked?

Kevin: (*uncomfortable*) Uh....

Liz: We're both red!

Kevin: Oh! I'm sorry! Yeah....let's team up

Next is Kwan standing in front of a group of dancers....

Kwan: If I dance do I get sum'?

Kwan busts a sweet move, and the dancers all clap for him.

Kwan: Do y'all got sumthin' for me? (*pause*) Damn....for real?

Survivorkwan "Man, this challenge was chaos....people running everywhere, it was mad crazy. I thought my ancestors would have my back or sum', I was tryna see if I could get a vibe from them. Thought I'd find sum' with the dancers, but I did a lil' dance and they still said no. Like aight....guess I can't find this thing..."
Kwan Akatsuka

A group of children handing out snacks is shown, and Aaron is shown being there....

Aaron: Thanks for the snackies, my guy

Aaron walks away with a small desert in his hand and Yessica comes up to the table. Yessica then narrates what happens in a confessional...

Survivoryessica "(*bubbly*) So at this table I saw all finger foods, so I noticed a little covered thing, and thought there were like, forks in there or something....but that's weird, why would they have utensils at this table? So I asked the kid if there was something in there, and he smiled, and the way he smiled I said....no....I didn't find, there's no way, I'm the smallest girl here, I'm never gonna win any challenge....and he gives me the scroll!! I noticed the other tribemates looking at me, noticing I had found it. I felt like the MVP, I couldn't believe it! It was so freaking cool!!
Yessica Fernandez

When Yessica finds the scroll, an elder, who appears to be the leader of the village, yells something out. Instantly, many people start singing, and the locals guide everyone back to their mat. One group of locals is now surrounding Yessica, and singing and cheering as she is walked back to the mat. The little boy who gave her the scroll leads her back to her mat while holding her hand (straight baller), and the village elder yells something out to stop the singing. Jeff then begins talking....

Jeff: Alright! I know you're all excited, but before we get into the reward, I must thank Ake and all the others here in this village for contributing to our opening challenge.

(*everyone claps for them*)

Jeff: And now, Yessica, you found the scroll.

Yessica holds up the scroll and her tribemates cheer.

Jeff: Alright, Yessica. Why don't you go ahead and read the scroll....

Yessica: Ok......

Yessica opens it and starts reading.

Yessica: "Congratulations! You have won a helicopter ride to your new camp. This means you will not have to take the long trek to camp that the losing tribe must take. This will give you a significant head start for the first few days." *pause* Yikes....

A few shots of Ruzizi members looking upset and Kagera members looking excited is shown...

Jeff: Kagera, you will take the path behind my left. A helicopter will be waiting to take you to your new camp. Ruzizi, take the path on the right. There will be two local men who will guide you through these dangerous trails. Good luck.

Yessica: Bye Jeff!

Almost everyone: *waves*

Jeff: *Head nod* Head out!

The local men, women, and children are all shown waving goodbye and making noise for the 16 Survivor: Rwanda contestants as it cute to a commercial.

Ruzizi Day 1

The scene opens up to traditional Rwandan music, and shots of birds flying above the treetops. A hippo is shown in the water before cutting to the sound of people talking. It then cuts to two locals, who are holding spears as they guide the Ruzizi tribe through the forest after losing the opening challenge. As they are walking, the tribe is getting to know each other and joking around.

Kyle: I swear, if an animal comes in the way, are they just gonna jab it with those sticks

Mbuke: (*giggles*) No!! That would be bad!

Josh: They look like they could kill something

Kyle: Oh my god, I hope so

Liz: Out here in Africa, your biggest worries are mosquitos and tsetse flies! They spread diseases like malaria.

Kyle: Will they kill mosquitos if they land on me

Liz: We'll see!

Kyle: Just jab me with a stick to kill a mosquito

Brianna: (*joining the conversation*) Liz, you're a zoologist, right?!

Liz: Yep! I've been all over the world for various projects; here in Africa for elephant population counting, in Indonesia to study the effects of deforestation, and similar projects in Brazil and China to name a few!

Brianna: That's totally cool, you go girl!!

Liz: Thanks, what do you do!?

(*Reminder, they are walking and ducking under branches/leaves as they are talking*)

Brianna: I'm a flight attendant!

Liz: Awesome! Kevin, what about you?

Kevin: I make cheese for a living.

Kyle: Oh my god, I'm from Wisconsin. We can be friends.

Kevin: What can I say, I'm a cheesy guy!

(*A few awkward polite laughs*)

Kyle: Classic Kevin

Josh: (*chuckle*) Classic Kevin...

Liz: And may I ask where you were born originally? I'm sorry if that's rude to ask, I'm just very curious!

Mbuke: No, it's ok! I was born in Tanzania!

Kevin: I'm bad at geography, where is that exactly...

Mbuke: You're good! So there's Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, like this....Tanzania is right below them!!

Liz: Wow! Tanzania was one of my favorite places I've ever been to!!

Mbuke: You've been there?! Awesome!

Liz: Yes, it's a beautiful place!! And what's your work?

Mbuke: A nurse!! So if you're ever in need of one, I'm here!!

Survivormbuke "As we are walking, we are all getting to know each other and it's very fun!! I was born in Tanzania, which is the country next to Rwanda, but I am not used to this jungle! I hope they don't expect me to know how to build something out here (*giggles*). I'm not used to this kind of land, I was born in a city!! But I really do like my tribe....I just hope they like me!!"
Mbuke Kweka

After Mbuke's confessional, the contestants continue getting to know each other as they walk through the dense jungle to their camp.

Mbuke (to Yutaka): Where are you from?

Yutaka: Japan.

Mbuke: Really!?

Yutaka: (*smiling*) Yeah

Mbuke: Woah!! (*high five*) I'm not the only immigrant!

Yutaka: Yeah!

Mbuke: I thought I would be the only one!! What do you do?

Yutaka: I'm a college professor

Kyle: Damn, why can't my college professors look like you

Mbuke: Yeah!!

Brianna: Where in Japan are you from?

Yutaka: Yokosuka, near Tokyo.

Brianna: No way! I've been to Tokyo, it was totally cool! Definitely wanna go back.

The camera then turns to Andy, who is the only contestant so far that has not contributed to any conversation. Andy is the smallest guy on the tribe; he's very skinny, and looks a bit awkward and like he's more of an indoor type of guy. He looks physically exhausted and trips on a tree root.

Josh: Anyone here follow the NBA?

Kevin: I do!

Josh: Ah for real! (*Kevin nods*) What's good man!

Kevin: Yeah....I'm from Wyoming, so I had to find me home team elsewhere, so I root for the Milwaukee Bucks, where my wife's family is from.

Josh: Ok, I see you!!

Kyle: Oh my god, Wisconsin represent. You're on a roll Kevin

(*shot of Andy tripping on another vine/root*)

Kevin: Now, I'm not very athletic myself...but if I was forced to play a sport, I'd go basketball

Josh: Love basketball man. I like soccer too, but I played football in middle school, and it was rough as hell. Did not enjoy it.

Kevin: I'm a huge football fun!

Josh: I mean, it's fun to watch, but playing it is awful

As Josh and Kevin talk, the camera turns on Andy and we finally get to hear him speak.

Survivorandy "Dude, come on...it's Day 1, and look who's on my tribe. Josh, some dude, and Kevin, this fat guy, are like, discussing sports behind me...not my thing. We got some Japanese bodybuilder dude (*shot of Yutaka*), two hot girls (*shot of Kyle/Mbuke*), and Liz and Brianna, who never stop smiling. It's weird (*shot of Liz/Brianna*). I'm so out of place here....like I'm not a nerd, but I like video games and staying indoors. It's almost embarrassing, I'm a walking stick figure out here. And I'm the shortest person here by several inches. Like, I'm so out of place, dude. It just sucks. I wanna be here, I really wanna make it to Day 39. But for now, I'm just trying not to be the first boot."
Andy Kimmons

After this confessional, the two local men stop, and they point to a small creek.

Local: You're going to....jump....

Liz: We are going to jump?

Local: Yes

Liz: Ok!

The two local men jump across the creek, and they hold out their hand.

Liz: Guess I'm first!!

A montage of Liz, then Josh, then Yutaka, then Mbuke, then Kyle, then Kevin (with some struggle) are shown. Then, it's Brianna.

Kyle: Come on Brianna, go girl

Brianna does a walk with some sass before preparing for her jump

Kyle: Oh my god work it

Brianna jumps, then does an excited little jump when she does.

Liz: Nice!! Alright, come on Andy!!

Josh: Let's go!!!

Andy then does an awkward little stance to get ready, and he launches himself, landing in a squat position.

Josh: Yes sir!!!

Andy: That was....interesting

Josh: Yo that was hype as hell!! I wanna do more things like that

Brianna: This is totally cool! I mean, we are in the jungle right now!!

Liz: Ok, can I just say something guys? We are all taking this extremely well!

Kyle: Hell yeah

Liz: We have to walk several miles through these jungles and not one person is complaining. I mean, I'm sweaty, I haven't had the chance to drink much since we began. I'm sure most teams would see this as a setback, but I am surprised on how positive and how motivated we're staying!

Josh: That's how Ruzizi does it!

Brianna: Woo!

Survivorbrianna "My whole thing is, I’m that free-spirited, positive energy-type girl. Whatever energy I get from people is the energy I give off, I mean, come on, I just love people, and whenever I meet someone who gives off some major positive vibes, it's just like, electric man! And these are totally my people. As we were walking through the jungle I was like, “yeah, I could totally vibe with this group". My tribemates, like, they get me!"
Brianna Murdock

Liz: I'm sure the other tribe doesn't have half the spirit that we have!

Kyle: (monotonously) They better freaking not.

Kagera Day 1

The scene changes to the Kagera tribe, who are all riding in the helicopter. The camera goes back and forth to the tribe members' faces, then back to the treetops, and so on. The camera shows many animals running, and there's beautiful music playing in the background as the contestants point at the things they see. The music dies down, and a close up of Kendrick is shown.

Survivorkendrick "That helicopter ride just felt so liberating. I can't believe that the me from 5 -10 years ago was doing that, especially after years of poverty, a couple years of homelessness, addiction, violence, abuse...now, I'm playing this game for my two daughters. They're everything to me. I can't wait for them to see that I got to ride in that helicopter and see all the animals they learn about, it'll be cute to see them watch me. I'm planning on winning this game for them for sure."
Kendrick Queenan

The helicopter is shown landing in grass, safely away from any wildlife, and the contestants exit the helicopter, holding their head as the heavy wind pushes them and the surrounding grass. A shot of the tribe flag is shown, as they watch the helicopter leave and wave goodbye. Soon, the contestants start walking towards their tribe flag.

Aaron: We're here!!!!

(*everyone starts cheering*)

Kendrick: Yo, before we celebrate, big shoutout to this girl right here....

Kendrick points directly above Yessica's head, who starts smiling.

Kim: Thank you so much Yessica!!!

Kendrick: Without this girl, we'd be walking through this jungle, asses sweaty, tired, thirsty....we lucked out big time.

Yessica: (*excited*) I'm glad to be on this tribe!!

Several people are shown hugging each other and high fiving, as Kendrick continues. The tribe is now standing at the tribe flag.

Kendrick: Ok everyone, I know we're excited, so let's get one yeah in, alright?

(*everyone yeahs*)

Kendrick: Ok. I'm Kendrick. I'm a construction worker. I'm here for you guys. I see that our shelter is already somewhat pre-constructed cause of the animals, we just gotta add some finishing touches. I say we start now and get it over with, is that cool?

(*several people nod*)

Yessica: Can we like go around and introduce ourselves!

Kendrick: Yeah, I see a lot of grass bundle things over there (*points*), let's carry those as we introduce ourselves.

Kwan: Sweet, let's do it

The camera pans on the personal trainer as he gives a confessional.

Survivorkwan “I’m pretty young, I’m 21 years old, but I’m always really eager to try new things. I was thinking about stepping up and maybe leading for the first couple days to get stuff goin', but I understand that I haven’t developed those skills yet. Think Kendrick be leading this tribe though, he for real with this plan he has. I'm just tryna be there for my tribe, and at the end of the day this game is a selfish game and it’s about yourself...but I like the teamwork aspect in the beginning.”
Kwan Akatsuka

The contestants are shown picking up some of the leaves....Aaron and Kwan are shown first.

Aaron: My mom told me to represent my people. So uh...to all my Mixtec people in Mexico, this one's for you.

Kwan: You from Mexico?

Aaron: Yeah man, my mom is

Kwan: Sweet, I'm mixed too, I'm half black half Japanese

Aaron: Dude for real? Between the two of us, we got black, yellow, white, and brown

Kwan: That's crazy

Aaron: If we combined ourselves I think we'd unlock something

Kwan: Damn man that's crazy

Kendrick: (*approaching them*) Yo, let's get these to the shelter quick.

Kwan: Aight.

The three guys start walking back, and the camera pans on the girls plus Leslie. The girls, especially Katie and Yessica, are shown with looks on their faces, ones that signal a bit of irritation. The girls still haven't gotten all the grass ready to go yet, they're still picking some bundles up and getting situated before walking back.

Yessica: Ok, well uh...thought we were gonna go back as a tribe (*giggles*). And he told me we'd introduce ourselves...

Katie: (*frustrated*) They just walked off, ok....

The camera then turns to Leslie, who is holding his bundles while clearly already exhausted.

Leslie: My ass is tired y'all, my bad

Katie: No, you're good. I wanna wait until all my tribemates are ready before we head back.

Kim: I'm ready!!

Katie: Ok, are we sure that everyone is good?

Leslie: This (*expletive*) easy, I'm good.

Katie: Alright, let's head back.

Survivorkatie “Listen, I am a Type A and I know that. I am very determined, I'm very stubborn, and I'm here to win. So I'm not looking out for anyone else but myself. But this tribe after the 10 minute mark was like, already a little divided, and it wasn't even cause of me. Kendrick has no off switch, our shelter is literally made for us, we just have to put some damn grass on the roof. And he's already hurrying Kwan and Aaron, and the two are like, "Ok, dad!" and keep going. It's like, I thought I was gonna be the one who needed to slow down, but obviously this tribe is a little antsy."
Katie Blake

The girls are shown back at the shelter, where the other three guys are putting the grass on the roof.

Yessica: So what do you do, Katie?

Katie: I'm a pharmacist.

Kendrick: (*approaching them*) Hey Katie, you got a big bundle, I'm thinking of putting it there.

Katie: Ok, well I really don't think it matters too much which ones you use, there's a lot...

Kendrick: I know. I wanna use some to put a layer on the ground, kinda like a comforter. And we just have a nice little nest inside the shelter to keep ourselves comfortable. Plus, we won't get dirty.

Katie: Ok....but like, can we just collectively breathe for a second, I think we'll be alright.

Kendrick: What do you mean? We're breathing

Katie: I mean, it's day one, hour one. We have plenty of time to get this shelter up, and I think we'd like to spend some time to get to know each other.

Kendrick: We have plenty of time to get to know each other.

Katie: I know, but we also have plenty of time to put some grass on a roof.

Kendrick: I know. I'd just like to get this done.

Katie: Well, me and a few tribemates would like to introduce each other.

Kendrick: Alright, go ahead then.

Katie: Go ahead what?

Kendrick: Introduce yourself. I'm Kendrick, I got two daughters. Used to be addicted to heroin. Oh, my daughters are named Kiana and Natalia. What about you?

(*shot of Katie clearly annoyed*)

Katie: I'm a pharmacist, I was born and raised in Dover, Delaware, and I have two sons, Oliver and Jeremiah, and one daughter, Victoria.

Kendrick: Beautiful! How old is Victoria?

Katie: She's 3.

Kendrick: Well her and Natalia could be friends one day!

A shot of Katie, who is still slightly annoyed, is showed before Kendrick gives a confessional.

Survivorkendrick “Whenever I have a task, I just have to do it. I'm just that type of person. I can get on Aaron's shoulders and put a leaf on the room while talking about my family, I'm not doing anything with my mouth while I do that. I understand Katie wants to talk about her family or whatever, sweet. I'd love to hear about what your daughter likes to watch, we can bond over that. But why do we have to stop what we're doing in order to do that? (*snickers*) There's no point in that!”
Kendrick Queenan

A shot of Kendrick with Aaron/Kwan is shown as they continue working on the shelter.

Kendrick: Hey Kwan, can you get the one Allison has? I think that one would go great here.

Aaron: (*smiling*) Dude, can you like...see math equations? Like you can just see which bundles fit where?

Kendrick: I mean, they're all pretty much the same. She just has one where the grass looks healthier. It's like, a different color, so it stood out.

Aaron: Aight, that's cool, that's cool.

Yessica and Katie are then shown standing on the sidelines. They are drinking water and are watching as the men continue to patch the roof.

Yessica: We should be like, getting to know each other.

Katie: Kendrick seriously needs to chill. Like, we're ok, we have hours of sunlight left, we can put some grass on a roof. We don't need to select which ones are better where if they're all going on the roof anyway.

Yessica: But didn't you hear his floor plan?

Katie: (*rolls eyes*) This man seriously needs to take it down a notch. Four notches.

Yessica: (*smiles*) For real!

Katie: So what do you do?

Yessica: Translator! There's a lot of Hispanic people where I'm from and I wanted to have a fun job where I could help the community.

Katie: That's nice!

Yessica: (*smiling*) Yeah!!

As Katie and Yessica are talking, Allison is observing from a distance. The camera cuts back to the men on the roof, and then to Leslie and Kim, who are just sorta standing there. It then cuts back to Allison as she gives a confessional.

Survivorallison “I’ve always been at the top of my class. I started off as a nursing student, but I changed to sociology and I plan on getting my P.H.D. because I have several specific points of interest. I love the fact that Survivor is like a microcosm of the U.S. It really fascinates me. I don’t know if people have picked up on the fact that I’m completely a nerd, but I’m hoping that they see I have a bikini and think otherwise. I am seeing what I study as my passion right in front of me, and the thing is, is that I don’t think anyone even notices. I am totally going to use this to my advantage.”
Allison Kepler

A timelapse of the sky is shown before Allison and Yessica are shown walking around in the forest.

Yessica: Thanks for coming with me, I just want to explore the jungle.

Allison: Of course, I don't think the guys are too observant at the moment.

Yessica: Yeah, I like Katie, but her plus Kendrick right now is weird! It's only Day 1, I kinda wanted to just chill.

Allison: Me too.

Yessica: And I felt like I was like this little girl, asking to get to know each other. I just wanna know peoples occupations, hometowns....I think I've got names down, but that's it.

Allison: Yeah, I guarantee you this will last just for the first day. I think it's just the excitement, and everyone here is just a little on edge cause it's day one out here in a different climate.

Yessica: (*bubbly*) Yeah! I love it here, it's so beautiful! And I've always like, wanted to live in a jungle! It's so cool, and I just wanna enjoy it!

Allison: Yeah, it's just a minor personality clash, everything will be normal tomorrow.

Yessica: I hope so!! (*pause*) Should we get back soon?

Allison: Yeah, but before we do, I got your back.

Yessica: Oh my god!! I got your back too!! 100%.

Allison: I think as long as we're on the same page, we're both safe.

Yessica: Totally! I really wanna go all the way.

Allison: Me too. Let's head back, but right here, right now, I'm telling you, I wanna work with you.

Yessica: Me too girl!

Allison and Yessica fist bump.

Survivoryessica “(bubbly) Listen, I am the smallest girl out here. I'm not super athletic and I know that even with the opening challenge I'll still need to prove myself, but like, I'm the daughter of two hardworking Guatemalan immigrants and I've worked hard all my life, and I translate mostly for older Hispanic couples who don't have children that speak English. So like, I'm very strong willed and I have the skills to help the tribe. I just need something to get me further, and that's Allison. I'm really glad I got to talk with her today!! She seems like one of those masterminds, and I'm sure that as long as she's with me, I'm good!!!”
Yessica Fernandez

The two girls return back to camp and Allison is shown pondering as the camera pans to a commercial break.

Ruzizi Day 1 part 2

The scene opens back up to the local men, who are shown continuing to lead the Ruzizi members as African music plays in the background. The music dies down, and the locals begin speaking to the Ruzizi members.

Locals: Almost there....

Brianna: Woo!!

Liz: Almost there guys!!

(*A shot of Andy, who is clearly exhausted from the hike to camp*)

Josh: Yo man, you gotta drink some water.

(*Josh hands him a canteen*)

Andy: Oh....thank you

Josh: Yeah, no problem.

Liz: That's a good idea everyone, how about we all drink some water before we get back to camp.

Everyone else verbally agrees.

Mbuke (to Yutaka): Especially you! You're so strong, you have to drink more! (*hands him her canteen*)

Yutaka: (*smiling*) Oh, thank you.

Mbuke: Yeah! I'll always be here to help

As Yutaka smiles and drinks, he gets a confessional.

Survivoryutaka “I like to stay healthy and strong, I do work out every day, and I want to help my tribe here. It’s going to be harder for me to become friends because I am not raised in the same cultural background...but I like these people. My favorite so far is Mbuke, she's really nice, but everyone else seems nice too. ”
Yutaka Yamaoka

When Yutaka finishes his confessional, the local men are shown appearing out of a treeline, followed by the 8 Ruzizi members. As they exit, the tribe members see their tribe flag and get very excited.

Local: Welcome to Ruzizi camp!

Everyone cheers and Brianna and Liz even hug the local men. Jovial music starts playing as the local men wave goodbye and the contestants head towards their tribe flag. There's no clear dialogue, just a lot of wooing and yeahs. A closeup of Josh is shown before he gives his first confessional.

Survivorjosh “Seeing the flag, oh my god, it was huge. I'm a huge fan of the show, I mean, come one. I love being active, goin' to the gym...I like being logical about things, I love being organized, I'm always down for a debate. This show is built for me, and I just have to keep myself focused, cause I've been wanting to win this game for so long. For years."
Josh Whitney

When his confessional finishes, the contestants are all shown at the tribe flag. The music has calmed down, and a closeup of Andy is shown holding an opened canteen that is slightly tilted, letting some water drip out.

Josh (to Andy): Yo, watch out, the cantine's still open.

Andy: Oh, thanks. I'm sorry...

Josh: No problem, man. Looks like we just gotta patch the shelter, then we're done.

Kyle: Can we just take a few moments to like, not do anything

Josh: I was thinking the same thing, let's just chill for a little bit before we do anything. We just took a long hike to this camp, and we're low on energy, so let's rest and get some back before we do anything.

Mbuke: (*late to the celebration*) Oh yay!!! We're here!!!

(*Brianna, who is next to Mbuke, gives her a high five*)

Brianna: (*expletive*) yeah!!

After Brianna says fuck yeah, the contestants start joking around and laughing, but none of it is clearly heard, because the camera is on Kevin. Kevin is kneeling on the ground, and is shown to be in deep thought, and when there is a quieter moment, Kevin is shown awkwardly attempting to give a speech to his tribe.

Kevin: Hey guys, I know that you all are tired, but if we get started now I think we should finish before sundown, which is coming in close. I'm a cheesemaker, which means I farm and make it myself. With my wife too. And so I'm used to doing things myself, sort of in a routine. If you all follow a timely schedule I think we'll work things out smoothly.

Josh: Yeah, I hear ya man, but I mean we got some people exhausted and I think that if we hydrate a little first, we can start soon. Rationing is important but we can drink a lil extra right now. We just walked a few miles and we don't wanna waste all our energy.

Kevin: I understand, but if we wait too long we'll be even more tired, that's my worry.

Josh: Right, I'm talking maybe 20 minutes of rest time.

Kevin: But the sun is already setting. If you want to be a leader and get something going in 20 minutes that's fine, but I can lead a few people now too.

(shot of Kyle giving a face)

Josh: Well I never said anything about leading, but I can if we need to. I think I know how to patch the roof.

Kevin: Yeah, understood. But let's start now so we can get it out of the way. It's the best possible way to get things done.

Josh: I think we'll wait just a few minutes, but we can get started sooner I guess

Liz: (*butting in, sweetly*) I think I'm okay to start now.

Kevin: Ok, let's get going then. Josh I think it's best if we sort of figure out where we work well at and go from there. I think if you think of something you're good at you can excel there, but for now I think I got the roof, I'm pretty good with hands on things.

The way in which Kevin delivers this line makes Kyle start to have a devious smile, like she's covering up a laugh, and Josh is shown making a confused face, almost as if he's surprised at how Kevin called him out like that. A close up of Kevin gathering some of the Ruzizi grass bundles is shown before he gives a confessional.

Survivorkevin “Josh, he’s a young kid. He thinks he has it all figured out, but he’s still a little naive. I don’t think he has the leadership qualities that this tribe needs. I knew I had to say something because I didn’t want our tribe to go in the wrong direction. Me, I wake up in the morning, my wife and I, and we take care of our goats. Then we take care of the entire cheesemaking process ourselves, and we do it in a routine. I'm used to working hard and working solitary, so it's gonna be tough out here to deal with these kids, but I think that I'm a great asset to this tribe.”
Kevin Mangold

The tribe members join Kevin in carrying the bundles, and after a quick montage of a few people carrying their bundles, Josh and Kyle are shown at the pile, talking.

Josh: *almost laughing* That man got very passive aggressive at the end there, don't ya think?

Kyle: Dude I literally wasn't even listening you're good.

Josh: I mean, he wasn't rude, or aggressive, he just really seems to have something against me.

Kyle: Yes, rivalry. Please fight him.

Josh: (*ignoring her comment*) It was just his tone, he seemed so impatient.

Kyle: If you ever need someone to hold you back, let me know. I'll be there.

Josh: (*kinda laughing*) I'm really not tryna fight this man!

Kyle: I want him to make cheese and then throw it at you

Josh: He probably will...I mean, I wouldn't call that conflict necessarily but I don't think he likes me.

Kyle: Ok, well...you're not a cheesemaker so I'll take his side.

Josh: (*smiles*) Aight. But you think I'm good, right?

Kyle, who has been joking the entire time, continues messing around.

Kyle: No, you're definitely going first.

Josh: Yeah...I'm fasho' overreacting.

(*the two begin walking*)

Kyle: I can fight him too so we can both be in (*expletive*)

Josh: (*smiles*) Don't think that's necessary

Survivorjosh “*on the verge of laughing* Kevin, that man’s nuts, man! He passive aggressively hinted that I'm not fit to make any decisions here. I thought I bonded with this man on the way here, but I guess not. If that goat farmer or whatever he is is the one to get me out of this damn game I would…*holding back laughter*.....I would probably die. Just right on the spot, die.”
Josh Whitney

A shot of a gorilla walking is shown before it transitions to Liz and Kevin standing by the forest. They are somewhat close to the shelter, but far away enough that they cannot be heard. It is clear they are taking a break while they have a conversation.

Liz: So how are you feeling about all this?

Kevin: I don't know....I feel like I'm having trouble fitting in to this group already.

Liz: I mean, they're all young kids. They're here to have fun, they're here to play the game. I think you just have a different philosophy in life, and you're better about the camp stuff than they are.

Kevin: Yeah, and it's not even a generational thing either. If I was 24 I'd be the same as I was now.

Liz: And that's good, it's just who you are as a person! We are the two oldest members of the tribe with the two most unique occupations, and we are here for a reason!

Kevin: Yeah...I'm only 44, I don't feel old...

Liz: And I'm only 43. But to them, we're older, it's just a mindset that younger people have, I was the same way when I was younger. You and me will have to stick together.

Kevin: Thanks, I appreciate that.

Survivorkevin “I’m the oldest guy out here and it's gonna be tough for me to fit in, not just cause I'm older, but because I have a different way doing things. Right now, the person I get along most on this tribe is Liz. I really like her, she's really sweet, and she reminds me of someone I’d be friends with back home. I’m hoping we can make a real friendship out here and we can go far together.”
Kevin Mangold

The conversation continues as Kevin sips from his canteen.

Liz: Listen, I'm really here to play the game. I want to make alliances, blindside people, all the fun stuff. I know I've been all about animal facts and team unity so far, but that's cause that's a part of who I am. The other part is playing this game 100%

Kevin: I like that

Liz: So we gotta look out for each other. We gotta play dirty. If we're gonna go far together, we have to play this game. I'm having fun out here; we're in the jungle, we're with a bunch of fun people. But the objective is to win this game.

Kevin: Yeah! I'm definitely ok with aligning, if that's what you mean. If I hear your name come out of anyone's mouth I'll let you know.

Liz: Thank you Kevin. I really appreciate it. I promise you right here, right now that we are going to go as far as we can together.

Kevin: Thanks, this is getting exciting!

(*Liz and Kevin shake hands*)

Kevin: (*slight subject change*) And you've been to Rwanda before?

Liz: Yes! I was in Kenya and Tanzania studying in college on the Serengeti and happened to stop here.

Kevin: That's so cool! I barely leave Wyoming.

Liz: It's beautiful here isn't it! (*chuckles*) I hope I get to see more of East Africa soon!

Kevin: (*smiles*) I'm sure you will

Survivorliz “Right now, I'm beginning to really play the game. I want to make it to Day 39, and there's no way I wanna get my journey cut short. Kevin really is step one, because as the two oldest tribe members, I really feel like we have to rely on each other in order to both get further. We promised each other we'd try and get to the end together, and I think we both bring something unique to this tribe, so I’m starting to get excited. I can't wait for my game to really begin, it's gonna be so fun! (*sweet giggle*)”
Liz Baker

The two rejoin their tribe, who is building a shelter. There is then a timelapse of the sky, and the scene turns to night....

Now that it is nighttime, it shows everyone crowded in the shelter, huddled for warmth, with the hum of bugs in the background....a bit of dialogue occurs....

Kyle: Ok, well, Yutaka just stole Mbuke from me...

Mbuke: No!!! Sorry!!

Mbuke and Yutaka are shown huddling very close, and Kyle is then shown keeping herself warm.

Liz: Let me help you! (*sweet chuckle*)

Liz is shown getting close to Kyle...

Kyle: Yas, thanks Liz, you're a (*expletive*) queen

Liz: Always happy to help!!

A close up of Andy is shown, and he is hunched over in fetal position, shivering...

Andy: (*subbed*) Oh my god....this sucks....

Kagera

An immediate transition takes us to the Kagera shelter night 1, and all of the sound effects and music turn off. All you here is the sound of bugs in the background. Then....

Leslie: OH GOD MY ASS!

A few people get up...

Leslie: What in the damn hell!! Somethin' just BIT my ass! Some sorta somethin' help me Lord!!

Yessica: (*screams*) Oh my god! Me too!!!

Kim: Well, this really is Survivor!!

Leslie: (*calming down*) I don't want nothin in this damn shelter if it ain't a human. I don't wanna bug, I don't wanna snake, nothin'.....

Yessica: (*screams*)

Kwan: What the hell

Yessica: (*screams*)

Katie: Are you all ok?

Yessica: There's something in my hair!! Oh my god I'm so sorry guys (*nervous giggle*)

Kendrick: (*under his breath*) Jesus....

The short night scenes end with a timelapse of the sky turning back to day. The scene opens up to the dock, who is on the river sitting in her tribe's boat, which is docked (why it's at the dock lmao). Katie and Kwan are there too. Kim is shown laughing and looking into the water. Kim then gives her introductory confessional.

Survivorkim “I don't think the fact that I’m fat and I’m almost 50 is gonna hold me back... (*laughs*) I can’t believe I’m even here, I always end up in places I don’t expect to be. That’s how I live my life. I just wake up and “hey! I’m here!” It’s sort of my way of feeling alive, I’m always on the go! I just wanna have fun and see the world, I've been all over already. But really, I wanna win, I wanna play Survivor, but at the end of the day, it's all about being myself!”
Kim Jackson

The camera then turns to Kwan and Katie, who are on the dock gathering water.

Kwan: Man I got no sleep, deadass...

Katie: You look half dead.

Kwan: I'm tellin' you for real, that shelter's tough.

Kim gets out of the boat and is now approaching Kwan and Katie.

Kim: Do you guys see the water here? Where do you think we would go if we just...... drifted away?

Kwan: I dunno, I'd try it I guess, it'd be cool.

Kim: Yeah. Hey, you said you're half Japanese right?

Kwan: Yes ma'am.

Kim: So you're like Wakanda Warrior ninja mix!

Kwan: Yeah, I guess so.

Kim: I hope I didn't offend and you know I'm all jokes right!?

Kwan: Yeah of course.

Kim: Good! I really love meeting people. I've been to India, Vietnam, Mexico, Brazil. I don't make a lot of money, I'm a school teacher, but I do a lot of saving. Or maybe I'm a gold digger! (*laughs*)

Kwan: Nah I don't believe that (*awkwardly laughs*)

Kim: My wife and I still live in a one story house and eat frozen pizzas a lot, we're nothing special!

The camera pans to Katie, who is trying her best to politely smile.

Survivorkatie “Kim is great in small doses. I can respect someone who’s completely out there and quirky and is just......living the way they wanna live, I can totally respect that. But living with this woman, like living, not just spending time with, I’m talking 24 hours, full on living with someone. It’s exhausting. Like mentally, it’s not a piece of cake, let me tell you.”
Katie Blake

After a scene of a cute ass monkey in a tree, the other tribe members (Aaron, Allison, Kendrick, Leslie, Yessica) are still at the shelter. It is early morning, so people are still waking up.

Yessica: How you holdin' up Leslie?

Leslie: Oh my......heheh....that was the worst sleep I ever had.

Kendrick: Did you like the grass idea?

Leslie makes a face directly to the camera like "fuck no".

Leslie: I mean, it made me itchy as hell, and it was bumpy as (*expletive*)

Kendrick: What do you suggest we do?

Leslie: I mean, it's up to y'all. If y'all wanna keep the grass, I dunno, it made me itchy.

Allison: I honestly didn't mind it.

Leslie: So let's do one half grass, one half bare ass. Is that good with everyone?

Yessica: I'm good with that.

Kendrick: Let's do it. Someone wake Aaron up.

Aaron is shown sleeping while sitting up, and Leslie lets out a little laugh as he gives a confessional.

Survivorleslie “I dunno if this has to do with sleeping, but my ass hurt this morning. My ass! I didn't sleep on my ass, I slept on my back. And I was itchy all damn night, and I had a bug bite me in several inappropriate areas. It wasn't the most comfortable night (*laughs*), but I'm here, so I shouldn't complain too much."
Leslie King

The scene turns back to camp, where Leslie begins moving some of the grass.

Leslie: Alright, here's some damn grass for y'all to put up (*hands to Aaron*)

Aaron: Thanks Leslie

Leslie: You're welcome

Aaron: Love you

Leslie: (*smiling*) Silly boy, get yo' ass on Kendrick's shoulders and put that on the roof now

Yessica: Yes boys, you're doing great!!! Let me know if you guys need help!!

Leslie: Oh, we got it, you good.

Survivoryessica “(*energetic*) Leslie today put his foot down and we reorganized our shelter a bit, and it's looking really good! We're all out here for a million dollars, so we might as well be comfortable while we're here (*chuckles*). Nighttime was really scary, and I'm always scared something will bash against the shelter, I don't know why....but at least we'll be comfortable if that does happen."
Yessica Fernandez

Leslie is shown wiping off sweat and looking at the new shelter that's half grass, half normal ground.

Kendrick: I like it, man. Looks cool.

Aaron: Leslie MVP of Day 2

Leslie: Oh, I just moved some damn grass dawg....

Aaron: But you did it with style

Leslie: You bet your ass I did

Kendrick: Anything else now, Leslie?

Leslie: Uh, I'm sittin' down and not moving for 2 hours, y'all please make some damn food soon.

Kendrick: (*smiles*) Got it

Leslie: If we win a reward, like some spices, I'll do the cookin'. I'm a chef, I make Cajun cuisine, it's what I do. But we not makin' cuisine now, are we? We makin' some damn rice. Plain ass rice.

Kendrick: We'll win you some spice, don't worry.

Leslie: Sure hope so

Survivorleslie “Damn, I surprised myself a little today. Before I came out here, I was like, what do I do? Like when I'm on the tribe? Cause my ass can't do a damn thing (*laughs*). But it seems my tribemates really appreciate me, and that sure do make me happy. I'm excited to play with these people...yeah sure, there's been some tension here and there, but I think we got a good group."
Leslie King

A shot of Leslie smiling is shown before it cuts to a commercial.

Ruzizi

After commercial break, a short scene pre-immunity challenge scene is shown at the Ruzizi camp Day 2. All the contestants are sitting in or near the shelter and are mid-conversation.

Kyle: Ok ok Liz do me next

Liz: Well.....I'm gonna say you're a female hyena. The weakest female hyena is stronger than the strongest male hyena in any pack!!

Kyle: Oh my god Liz called me strong (*turns to Josh*) Liz called me strong

Mbuke: Me!!!

Liz: Well....the first thing that comes to mind is you and Yutaka being termites, because they mate for life.....

The camera then shows Mbuke and Yutaka, who are gettin' a little too close in the shelter...

Mbuke: (*confused*) What??

Liz: You two are just close!!

Brianna: It's cute!!

Mbuke: Me?

Brianna: Yeah!

Mbuke: Thanks, you too!!

Kyle: Ok I wanna go

The camera turns to Kyle, who looks at Josh.

Kyle: Josh, you're a spider monkey. (*turns head*) I literally don't know what that is

Liz: Well, we are doing African animals, and spider monkeys live in Central and South America.

Kyle: (*expletive*)dammit Josh, you ruin everything.

Josh: My bad

Kyle: I hope a tsetse fly bites you

Josh: (*lightbulb going off*) Yo, Andy could totally be a prairie dog

(a wide shot shows it's obvious Andy is missing)

Josh: Where is that little guy?

Mbuke: (*concerned*) Tsetse fly...

A shot of Brianna turning her head towards the woods is shown when the scene changes to Andy hunched by the river the camp is next to. He looks visibly upset and mentally out of it as he looks at the water.

Survivorandy “I was so excited on Day 1. In the beginning I was nervous too but like, I couldn’t wait for the game to start, cause that’s really why I’m here. I hate the outdoors but…..*expletive*.....this is overwhelming me. Like………….really…...it’s a lot man, I don’t know. These aren’t exactly the type of people I know…..I would like…….talk to. I don’t know. It’s a lot. Already man, and it's only Day 2.....”
Andy Kimmons

Brianna is shown walking up to the river. This river has a dock similar to Survivor: Gabon, and Andy is hunched over. Brianna walks up and crouches down next to him. Andy is the smallest and least athletic out of anyone in the game, and Brianna is a broad-shouldered, heavier girl with a quirkier hairstyle, and out of all the younger people in the game, they're the least "chad-like." Brianna begins speaking to Andy...

Brianna: Hey Andy!

Andy: Hi, I'm sorry, I'll be back in a minute.

Brianna: Nah, you're totally fine!

Andy: Are people talking about me?

Brianna: Nah...I just noticed you were missing in action, so I'd figure I'd check up on you.

Andy: Oh, I'm fine....I just need a few seconds to recharge.

Brianna: Hey, we've all been there. What's up?

Andy: Uh...the water's cool.

Brianna: Really?

Andy: Dude, I don't know....just don't know what to say

Brianna: Do you need to talk about anything?

Andy: Nah, I'm ok

Survivorbrianna “You know what, I am on the heavier side, but I am a big girl who just rocks it with confidence. I can see in Andy that he’s here for a reason, and I don’t want to see him at such a low this early. All he needs is a little confidence and I can totally see him kicking some major ass.”
Brianna Murdock

Brianna: Is there something specific that's the matter?

Andy: No, I'm ok.

Brianna: Dude, you're looking at the ground. Let me tell you, I know it's hard and the conditions and the people are a lot right now, but let me promise you, you're good here. We all have noticed how funny and kind you've been.

Andy: I mean...I've barely talked. I'm worried I've already *expletive* up my chances and it's only Day 2. Did people really notice I've been gone?

Brianna: I haven't even noticed you *expletive* anything up dude, seriously. And no, no one is concerned about you. Trust me Andy, I won't let them take you out soon and I swear on everything. I know how it feels. Let's get back to camp before anyone notices, but you gotta promise me to walk with some swag ok? Let 'em know you're here to kick their ass.

Andy: *smiling* I know, but sometimes I just need time to recharge.

Brianna: I understand. Hey, before we walk back

Brianna extends her hand....

Brianna: Promise me we'll go as far as we can.

Andy: (*shakes hand*) I promise....

Brianna: Are you chill with that?

Andy: Dude, I need whatever I can get.

Brianna: Sweet!

Andy: Yeah...

Brianna: If you ever need someone to talk to about video games, movies, anything that's on your mind, I'm here for ya. I've got so many weird hobbies, I can talk about anything. If you need someone to talk to, I'm extremely extroverted, I'm always down to talk!

Andy: Thanks man....I appreciate it

Brianna: No problem!

Andy is shown giving a side smile as he gives a confessional.

Survivorandy “My talk with Brianna went really well. I like her, she's pretty similar to me, except she's way more confident and outgoing. I’m still just trying not to be the first boot but uh, we’ll see how that goes. I guess I have one person on my side, that's good, although I still feel like I’m walking on eggshells.....but maybe I’m just paranoid. I’m good though. I'm ready to play.”
Andy Kimmons

A shot of the two walking back to camp together is shown before it cuts to the Kagera camp.

Kagera

A beautiful Rwandan chorus is shown, as we see a leopard stalking its prey, then a monkey picking parasites, before it cute to the Kagera camp, where Allison and Kim are walking down a trail together carrying treemail.

Kim: Just to think how many people have walked this path before!

Allison: We really are in the middle of Africa right now, it's crazy

Kim: (*stopping*) Hear that? I think it's a monkey! I don't even know what it would be, but I swear I hear something!!

(*pause*)

Allison: Yeah, maybe. You know, I really like your enthusiasm.

Kim: Let me tell ya, I've been keeping an eye out for the last couple days, and you really confirmed what I've been thinking, which is that you're one very cool, calm, observant individual.

Allison: (*smiling*) Oh, thank you.

Kim: And Yessica, she found the reward note on Day 1. I heard her say once that girls shouldn't have to say they aren't girly in order to be taken seriously and I though, 'Amen sister!' And Katie, that girl works harder than some of the guys. I think if we were an Amazon woman tribe we would kick ass! I like Leslie too, he's such a good guy, and when Kendrick talks about his daughters, I think I wanna cry! Aaron and Kwan are like my sons, they're so mature yet so fun and I love when they're around. But honestly, not sure if I'd align with anyone but you yet. Still am trying to get a grasp on everything but I love this tribe and especially the women!

Allison: I'll just say, this game is so crazy, so if you ever need someone to go to, I'm here for you.

Kim: Thanks so much!!

Allison: No problem, Kim.

Survivorallison “Today while walking from treemail, Kim basically tells me everything that she was thinking. I mean, that woman was giving some major praise to the women of the tribe. I guess my comment about her enthusiasm opened the floodgates, I wasn’t even saying it to be strategic at all, in fact I’m not even sure if I meant to say it, but thank goodness I did because it’s definitely giving me ideas for the future.”
Allison Kepler

The next shot is Aaron holding the treemail as the tribe surrounds him.

Kendrick: We gotta win this challenge guys. Reward was sweet but immunity is sweeter.

Aaron: Can I (*expletive*) read this thing?!?

Kendrick: (*smiling*) Yes, go ahead

Aaron: God, finally. Ok...."Tonight, not tomorrow, you'll fight for the right, to escape tribal council, and continue to fight."

Katie: Oooh, a night challenge!!

Kim: No way!! That's so cool!!

(*pause*)

Yessica: Wait, that was it??

Aaron: What was what?

Yessica: The treemail, can you read it again? I didn't quite get it

Aaron: Oh my god

Yessica: Sorry!!

Aaron: (*in Spanish, subbed*) "Tonight, not tomorrow, you'll fight for the right, to escape tribal council, and continue to fight."

Yessica: That's it?

(*reminder that Aaron is speaking in a joking tone*)

Aaron: God, this girl wins one challenge, and she thinks she can just set the bar high for everything else...

Yessica: (*playfully*) Shut up

Aaron: Hey Yessica, the other tribe is Sugon, right?

Kwan: Bruh....

Yessica: Huh? I thought it was like Ruziki

Aaron: (*laughs*) RUZIKI! No, it's Sugon.

Yessica: Sugon?

Aaron: Sugon my balls

Yessica: (*OTT playfully*) NO!!!! STOOOOP!!!

(*shot of Kendrick bending over*)

Aaron: Daaamn Kendrick, you didn't tell me you had a damn dumptruck, boutta make me act up....

Kwan: Bruh

A shot of Aaron sexually biting his lip, then winking at Kwan is shown while he gives a confessional.

Survivoraaron “I think the past few days have shown that if you take this game too seriously, it just won't be as fun. So that's what I'm all about, I'm gonna be the guy who jokes around, makes camp life more fun. I'm just an impulsive, goofy guy. But at the end of the day, I'm all about the W. And hopefully today we can get the W, so we don't have to see Jeff's gorgeous face lit up by the glow of the tribal council bonfire."
Aaron Young

A shot of the sky is shown before it transitions to night, and the scene changes to the challenge location.

Immunity Challenge

Jeff: Come on in guys!

The two tribes walk in for their immunity challenge which is a rare night challenge.

Jeff: Are you ready to get to your first immunity challenge?

Everyone says yeah and Jeff explains the challenge. Each person gets a torch and runs out to different questions about Rwanda, each question with two responses. If correct, there is a puzzle piece. If incorrect, the person must run back and go again. Once all 8 pieces are collected (each person goes once), then they must solve a puzzle of a traditional Rwandan design.

(Author's note: I'm not gonna go too in depth on challenges so I'll give a brief synopsis). For Kagera, only Leslie has to run back a second time. For Ruzizi, Kevin, Josh, and Kyle all have to run back, setting Ruzizi back. Kagera is already ahead during the puzzle and they end up finishing barely ahead of Ruzizi, who were starting to catch up.

Jeff: KAGERA WINS IMMUNITY!

Kagera celebrates as Ruzizi looks defeated.

Jeff: Kagera, immunity's yours.

Jeff hands the immunity idol to Yessica, who then passes around the immunity idol to everyone.

Jeff: Ruzizi, got nothing for you but a date to tribal council. Head out.

Several shots of Kagera members celebrating are shown while it fades into a commercial break.

Day 3 Ruzizi

The scene opens up to the Ruzizi camp after they lost the immunity challenge the night before. It shows Josh, Kevin, Brianna, and Yutaka sitting by the fire. There is some light music playing before it stops, and the dialogue begins.

Josh: We really almost had them, last night, guys. It was hella close.

Kevin: I really don't want to vote anyone out.

Josh: I mean....I guess I'll be the one to say it....does anyone here have anyone in mind?

(pause)

Kevin: Well, I mean I was thinking.....the weakest is probably.....maybe Andy.

Brianna: No.

Kevin: You don't think so?

Brianna: Andy just needs a bit more time, he's been helping a lot more around camp, and he went through a lot the first couple days, so I wanna give him a chance to stick around.

Kevin: But we have to vote someone out.

Josh: Yeah, who else would we vote out.

(*pause*)

Kevin: I mean, I guess the next weakest would be....uh...maybe Liz?

(*sound effect*)

Brianna: I love her, the positive energy, the way she really lifts up our spirits, but I mean....I'm good with that. I would be ok with it.

Josh: Yeah.

(*pause*)

Josh: Simple as that? We all good with Liz?

Yutaka: I'm ok with it

Kevin: She's really nice, but if that's the consensus, I'll vote Liz.

Josh: Sweet.

The camera pans on Kevin as he gives a confessional.

Survivorkevin “This morning after the challenge, we were all pretty defeated. I panicked and threw out Liz’s name because apparently I'm not allowed to put out Andy's name. I wanted to have Liz’s back, but I’m here for my family and I told them I’d come back with the million....so I have to vote out Liz tonight.”
Kevin Mangold

The scene changes and Josh is shown walking with Liz.

Liz: Listen Josh, I'm here to play this game.

Josh: Right.

Liz: I want to win, and I'm willing to go all the way with you.

Josh: What's your idea for the vote?

Liz: Well I was thinking.....Andy seems like a weak link. I seem like a weak link. Kevin seems like a possible weak link.

Josh: For real?

Liz: Well I think I have a lot to offer, but I realize based on my age and the fact that I'm not in shape I was 10 years ago, like let's say Mbuke, I think I might come across as an easy target.

Josh: I mean, you have positive vibes, you got some animal facts. You're always the first one to take charge too, like getting us to drink our water

Liz: Thanks!

Josh: Who else do you want to pull in?

Liz: Well, actually I've been thinking this all through, especially while going to bed last night. First off, I have Kevin 100%

Josh: Woah woah woah....hol' up....you sure about that?

(Liz pauses in disbelief)

Liz: What do you mean?

Josh: Liz, Kevin threw out your name this morning.

Liz: (*shocked*) Kevin threw out my name?

Josh: Yeah....I'm sorry to brake it to you...

Liz: (*tearing up*) No, it's just strange. It's just....strange. (*pause*) He told me he'd look out for me Day 1.

Josh: Oh damn, that's tough. Yeah, he threw your name out while we were all sitting around the fire.

Liz: In front of how many people?

Josh: A few of us.

Liz: Oh god...ok...

Survivorliz “I just cannot believe what Kevin did. After feeling like I had all this game in me, and like I was going to really propel myself forward in this game, Kevin is the one that throws out my name on the chopping block. I mean, we promised to look out for each other. We couldn’t go one council, one council without him throwing me under the bus! You know, it really sort of rubbed me the wrong way, and what it did was, it really showed me the kind of person he is. Kevin isn’t looking out for anyone but himself, and I have to let my tribe know this.”
Liz Baker

A snake is shown in the grass before a shot of Liz standing next to the shelter is shown. Kevin is shown sitting around the fire. The camera goes back to Liz to show her shooting daggers at Kevin. Finally, Liz starts speaking.

Liz: Hey Kevin, how's the vote looking tonight?

Liz, who is usually all smiles, has a tone that takes Kevin a bit by surprise.

Kevin: What do you mean?

Liz: The vote. The one that's tonight.

Kevin: I don't understand what you're asking.

Liz: Kevin please don't play games with me. Who did you tell everyone do vote for?

(*everyone starts awkwardly looking at each other*)

Kevin: What?

Liz: Who did you tell everyone to vote for? Did you throw my name out?

Kevin: (*pauses*) Liz please....I don't- what? No.....

Liz: Did you throw my name out? Right after we promised each other Day 1 we would look out for each other? How do you think that makes me feel?

Kevin: Liz, I don't, um....

Liz: I just want to say to everyone here, I trust everyone tonight, and I'm doing what I can to stay here. If anyone would like to talk to me, make any deals, I'm here for you, I'm a guaranteed number, because the one person who had my back no longer has it.

Kevin: Liz, I'm playing the game, I'm sorry. Your name was already thrown out.

Liz: Who said it first then?

(*Kyle is shown looking at Mbuke and smiling*)

Kevin: No one said it first.

Liz: No one. Did the wind say something? It blew the trees a certain way, and they spoke to you? Did it come to you during a dream last night?

Kevin blankly stares at Liz.

Liz: (*to everyone*) Kevin and I promised each other day 1 that we'd have each other's backs, and he lied the first chance he could get. He's not the kind of person you want to play the game with.

Liz is shown standing while crossing her arms as Kevin gives a confessional.

Survivorkevin “Liz definitely seemed hurt that I was willing to vote her off. I don’t think she realizes that other people agreed on it too. She kind of came at me a little too aggressively though, I think she needs to drink some water, I don’t think her head is in the right spot at this point.”
Kevin Mangold

Kevin: Liz, I never lied to you.

Liz: Kevin, I just explained how you lied to me, come on.

Kevin: (*pauses*) What's your goal in saying all this?

Liz: To show the tribe where your values lie. I'm all about this team, but it's clear you're all about you. That's what I'm here for. My team. Ruzizi.

Kevin: I give 100% all the time to this tribe, I do a lot around camp. I don't think I'm going anywhere.

Liz: Oh, we'll see tonight.

Kevin: I carried most of those grass things myself, and I assembled the roof, I tend to the fire, I get water. I'm a busy bee. And I didn't go out of my way to lie, I just am not the best at this game, honestly. I couldn't get everyone else to get your name off the parchment.

Liz: (*tearing up*) Kevin, you lied. It's plain and simple. All you had to do was have my back, but you threw my name out. And it hurts, it really does.

Kevin: Uh...d-....y-...uh...

A shot of a couple people smiling is shown before Kyle gives a confessional.

Survivorkyle “It was like, minutes of those two just going at it. It was kind of funny, cause no one was like, advocating for them. We just sat there like sacks of meat, just doing nothing for minutes, cause mom and dad were fighting. When they stopped I was honestly disappointed, cause it was definitely the most interesting thing that's happened so far."
Kyle Murphy

One final scene before tribal is shown between Brianna, Mbuke, Kyle, and Andy is shown. There are at the dock washing some clothing items...

Kyle: Guys Liz is now mauling Kevin.

Mbuke: What just happened?!!

Brianna: We got our vote narrowed down to 2, that's what happened.

Andy: I'm just saying, am I really surviving my first tribal? Like, what did they do to have me not be an option. Like, am I an option?

Kyle: Hell no

Brianna: We got you, Andy!

Mbuke: I just want to say, Kevin does a lot around camp, but he needs to close his mouth!

Andy: Yeah, and Liz...I don't know....I like her a lot, she's really nice and she's sweet....

Kyle: And her animal facts make me tingly

Brianna: Ok guys, but does anyone actually care which one goes? Like for real, does anyone have a preference? Cause I want us to be unified when we walk into tribal.

Kyle: I have an argument for one, but you have to promise to point at me and call me a bitch when I say it.

Brianna: Ok

Kyle: No I'm serious. Point at me, and call me a bitch.

Brianna: Got it

Kyle: Kevin does all the (*expletive*) around camp, and sometimes I'll pretend like I'm too tired to do something so he'll end up doing it for me. I feel like a bitch saying that but it's true. And Liz is all about doing things as a group and group time, so she might make me do work with her if she stays. Just saying.

Brianna: You bitch!

Kyle: (*winks*) That's my argument, but Liz is awesome so I also want to keep her

Mbuke: I think....I don't know how to talk to Kevin! And Liz is so nice, and she's been to Tanzania before! That's my home country!! I want to talk to her more about it, but I want to vote however you all want to vote!

Andy: Yeah....

Brianna: Listen, I don't know if Yutaka or Josh care who goes, so let's decide here.

Mbuke: Yutaka!!!

Brianna: Yeah, you can tell him what we decide

Mbuke: Ok!!

Brianna: So uh....let's go ahead and decide.

A shot of the group is shown before Brianna gets the final confessional of the premier.

Survivorbrianna “People always say the first vote is important, but really, how important is it? Liz and Kevin, they’re both like right here, pretty equal. Kevin always somehow runs into conflict and is claimed to be untrustworthy, but he has some more handy skills we could use, and does so much for the tribe around camp. Liz physically would probably be weaker, but she has such a good energy, and she really is a positive person for the tribe. Not gonna lie, we have no idea which one should go tonight.”
Brianna Murdock

The Ruzizi tribe grabs their torches and head to tribal council.

Tribal Council

The Ruzizi tribe walks into the tribal council set with their torches. The set is in the middle of the jungle, and gives off major treehouse vibes. There is Rwandan-style artwork all around, and many statues of different animals that inhabit Rwanda. The eight stop, and Jeff gives the Ruzizi tribe the classic "Behind each of you is a torch. Grab a torch and approach the flame. Dip it in and get fire. This is part of the ritual at Tribal Council, because in this game, fire represents your life; when your fire's gone, so are you." Once all eight have sat down, Jeff gets right down to business.

Jeff: Alright, 3 days, you've already hiked through the Rwandan jungle and lost your first immunity challenge. Liz, how is this tribe holding up after two losses in a row?

Liz: You know what Jeff, this place gives off eerie vibes, and it's such a good representation of our experience so far. It's a very beautiful, almost surreal place, but there's an underlying feeling of, "crap! we got beat." So no matter how much we try and stay positive, you have to wonder how long it'll stay like this.

Jeff: Andy, did the walk mean anything to this tribe?

Andy: I think the reward challenge loss didn't affect us cause only one person won it for Kagera, and the walk actually brought us closer as a tribe.

Liz is shown scrunching her nose to this comment.

Jeff: Kyle, when you're out here with seven other strangers, how does walking through this Rwandan jungle bring people together?

Kyle: Well Jeff, there was this cool sense of adventure, and like, we all felt cool cause we were like, brushing away leaves, and whacking bugs, but that sense of adventure has sort of decreased, because not gonna even beat around the bush here Jeff, it's been an interesting day.

Jeff: Interesting how so?

Kyle: Um, I would like to phone a friend for this one.

Liz: Are we already on this subject? I'd like to speak if so.

Kevin: No-

Liz: Kevin told me Day 1 he'd tell me if I was voted out, he said "if I ever hear your name Liz, I'll let you know!" Then I find out today that he threw my name out there!

Kevin: That's true, but what everyone has to understand is that I did this because Liz was already the one to be voted out.

Liz: And this man already had a disagreement with Josh on Day 1. He's proven he's not a sociable guy.

Josh is shown putting his face in hand, shaking his head.

Jeff: Kevin, you hear Liz bring up two separate-

Kevin: Jeff, in the morning my wife and I wake up early and we take care of our goats. We also handle every other single step of making cheese too, so we are very busy people. I'm used to working more solitary like. I talk to people on many occasions to sell my cheese but I'm used to doing the work by myself. I promise if I stay I'll be better about my attitude. And I never had an argument with Josh, that was a 30 second conversation where I told him that we needed to build the shelter immediately. And it worked out, too.

Josh: Jeff, I don't think Kevin and I see eye to eye, but the man's a work horse, gotta give him that.

Kevin: Thanks.

Liz: If we're bringing up occupations I'd like to talk about mine!

Jeff: Go ahead.

Kyle: Wait Liz, tell animal facts.

Mbuke: Animal facts!!

Liz: Jeff, did you know that the first thing a baby barnacle goose does is jump off a cliff more than 400 feet off the ground?

Jeff: *smiling* I did not.

Kevin is shown rolling his eyes.

Liz: Let's see....giraffes are the only animals who give birth standing up, the largest frog in the world is the goliath frog which lives in Cameroon, Koala babies typically receive nutrients from their mother's feces. And ladybugs can predict winter weather months before it even occurs and us zoologist are still stumped to this day! Those are just a few. Keep me around and I'll give you more.

Jeff: Anything else needed to be said here tonight?

Andy: I'm surprised I'm still here.

A few people chuckle at this comment.

Jeff: Andy, what does your comment mean?

Andy: Well Jeff, Liz and Kevin are at each other's throats meaning I'm safe. And just yesterday, I was having trouble with adjusting to the game here, so I guess what I'm saying is that as a tribe we shouldn't give up.

Kyle: Hell yeah

Kevin: I think as a tribe moving forward, we need to consider who would help our tribe in the future, which includes strategy.

Liz: And one of us has already proven they're not trustworthy.

Jeff: Wow...I'd say now is a good time to get to the vo-

Liz: May I add one more fact?

Jeff: By all means

Liz: Piranhas are not nearly as dangerous as urban legends have made them out to be. They usually eat berries and already dead animals. Take that to mean whatever you'd like.

Kevin: I know a few animal facts too....

Jeff: (*smiling*) And with that, it is time to vote. Yutaka, you're up first.

One by one, everyone votes. Only the votes from Kevin and Liz are shown.

"Kevin, your cheese I'm sure is very delicious, but your game...it's moldy. And gross. Watch out for those piranhas" -Liz voting for Kevin

"Nice animal facts" -Kevin voting for Liz

After everyone sits don't, Jeff does the classic "I'll go tally the votes." He then grabs the urn and hits em with that....

Jeff: Once I read the votes the decision is final, person voted out will be asked to leave the tribal council area immediately. I'll read the votes.

First vote....

Liz....

Kevin, that's one vote Liz one vote Kevin...

Liz, that's two votes Liz, one vote Kevin.....

Liz, that's three votes Liz, one vote Kevin.....

Liz, that's four votes Liz, one vote Kevin....

1st person voted out of Survivor: Rwanda, Liz. Liz, that's five votes that's enough, please come bring me your torch.

Liz smiles and grabs her bags and sets her torch down.

Jeff: Liz, the tribe has spoken.

Liz's torch is snuffed and she leaves the tribal council area.

Jeff: Well, after an interesting evening, this tribe hopefully learned a lot about themselves and the wildlife surrounding you. Before you leave, because you came to tribal council, here's your flint. Grab your torches and head back to camp, goodnight
