Claim to Fame: About nine years ago, when I was still managing my store, I noticed some broad stealing a $300 knife set. When I confronted her though, she tried to run away and I chased after her, eventually tackling her to the ground. By this time, we were outside the store on the sidewalk. She eventually got free and threw one of her shoes at me, but I got my knives back! (Chuckles) After that incident, I earned the nickname "Speedy" from my staff given how fast I ran after her.
Inspiration in Life: My lovely wife, Margaret. After 41 years of marriage, we've been through literally everything together. Without a doubt, she is my rock.
Hobbies: Traveling, cross-word puzzles, reading, watching T.V., playing with my grandchildren.
Pet Peeves: Excuses, especially when it comes to people's ignorance and/or stupidity. Laziness and indecisiveness are also up there. I guess after managing that retail store for over 30 years and dealing with hundreds of employees in that time, I'm just done with people's bulls***!
3 Words to Describe You: Determined, adventurous, blunt.
If You Could Have 3 Things on The Island What Would They Be and Why:
Toilet paper, and lots of it, for obvious reasons. Bug repellent so I don't get eaten alive out there. Finally, some laxatives to give to the people that are full of s***!
SURVIVOR Contestant You Are Most Like: I see a lot of myself in Randy Bailey for sure. I'm just not willing to put up with crap from people and I won't be quiet about it! I also really enjoyed watching Tony play the game in Cagayan. We're out here to play a game! So the way I see it, go big or go home!
Reason for Being on SURVIVOR: I've been a fan of this show for a very long time and I've always wondered what it would be like to play this game. I'm out here for the experience, for sure. The fact that this is a game for a million dollars though is another huge reason I'm out here. Not many people get an opportunity like this, so the last thing I want to do is waste it!
Why You Think You’ll “Survive” SURVIVOR: I may not look like much, but I'm as tough as they come! I don't care what this game throws at me, I'll handle it just fine.
Why You Think You Will Be the Sole SURVIVOR: Being 67, I'm sure a lot of people out here are going to underestimate me. From the outside, I don't look like a threat and I'll play up the fact that I'm out here for the experience. As a result, when I start putting knives in people's backs, there's no way they'll see it coming! I'm determined to shatter Bob's record and become the oldest winner ever and I won't let anything stop me!
