Survivor: Son Doong is the third season of AJ's Fanon Series. It will feature 16 castaways divided into tribes based off their respective personality temperaments.
Twists[]
- Hidden Immunity Idols - Each tribe will have a hidden immunity idol hidden at their camp. Like in Temotu, the idols will be hidden based off the respective tribe, with a different method of finding each idol relating to that tribe's element.
- Returning Players - Two people from each of the first two seasons will return to play alongside the twelve newbies, with one going onto each tribe. These were contestants deemed to fit their respective elements, as well as people who played strong games in their first attempt, garnering them a second chance.
- Elements - The castaways will be divided into four tribes, divided by their personality types in accordance to the four elemental temperaments, the tribes named after the Mahābhūta elements in Buddhism.
- Warrior Swap - Each of the four tribes will send forward one 'warrior' to represent their tribe, with the four contestants competing in an individual challenge. The two victors will become captains to choose two entirely new tribes, whilst the two losers will be exiled for the round, thus missing out on important time needed to form connections.

Life at Ponderosa[]
This season, each of the contestants that were eliminated during the jury phase of the game will have a short Life at Ponderosa 'video' released after their respective boot episodes, much like in the canon Survivor, although obviously in written form for this.
The megathread for all Life at Ponderosa segments can be found here, giving the reader the ability to tab through them as they release, though there are also individual pages for each ponderosa episode in order to make the tabber functional.
Castaway Clues[]
Throughout the pre-season, clues were given out periodically during Dueling Desert airing as to who the different returnee contestants on each tribe were as a way to engage with the fans and build some hype behind who some of the people may be, as well as just being a fun little game for people to enjoy.
- Clue One - DNC: Alex played multiple idols in her original season, cancelling eleven votes against her, with "Alex, Does Not Count" becoming a common phrase from Jeff. This clue was not solved prior to Alex's reveal.
- Clue Two - UAP, 26/10/17: On the 26th of October, fanon user Under A Pineapple commented on Calvin's contestant page. This clue was first solved by MATT DB.
- Clue Three - 14: 11 7 3 1 4: Survivor: Fiji, (S14), with the numbers referencing the placements of 5 contestants, whose first initials spell out LACEY. A later comment was added on to aid people in their search that the clues didn't necessarily have to involve fanon Survivor seasons. This clue was first solved by ProudAndBitter.
- Clue Four - GS SCyaML: Gretchen Singh (initials GS) answered Ken McNickle in her bio for Survivor Contestant you are Most Like, which was the same answer that Gerald gave in his bio for Dueling Desert. This clue was first solved by MATT DB.

Author's Notes[]
- This season was originally going to be set in Hokkaido in Japan, however this was changed due to Japan being a frequently used location for seasons, the theming working better for a Vietnam based season, and also me finding pictures of the Son Doong caves and thinking they were awesome.
- This season features the most LGBT+ contestants of any of my seasons thus far, with 6.
- This coincidentally is the same as both the previous seasons combined, as Temotu had 4 and Dueling Desert had 2.
