They Call Me An All-Star For This Reason is the second episode of Survivor: Down Under - All-Stars

Previously on Survivor

Twenty former Survivor players came to Australia to compete in this season of Survivor. Right away, they were placed into two tribes and competed in their first reward challenge. Bendigo won the first reward challenge, but they experienced problems with Blake, who tried to let everyone know about the things needed to be done. On Wollongong, Ernie made a huge impact by coming up with the fire for the tribe. But Yolanda was determined to win the game this time by searching the idol. However, Amy and Sherri found the idol first. Bill tried to get Chandler to recommit to his alliance although Chandler still had doubts.

At the immunity challenge, Yolanda's roll and Wheeler's struggle to get up the hill failed to get Wollongong a chance immunity. Yolanda decided to resume her rivalry with Wheeler. But the others would see right through it and Sherri offered an alliance to get Wheeler to Day 4. That plus Wheeler's emotional plea at Tribal Council would send Yolanda out of the game last the first person voted out.

Story

Night 3

Wollongong

As Wollongong returns from Tribal Council, there is a feeling of relief amongst everyone knowing that Yolanda was gone. For Wheeler, this is a happy and joyous moment.

Wheeler Thanks guys!

Amy No problem!

Natalya You deserve this.

Hudson Is it midnight already?

Jackson I say it is.

Sherri Well happy day 4 Wheeler.

Wheeler Thanks guys!

“	I never pictured myself being here after tonight. I was worried that I was a goner. But now that the devil is out of the game, I feel I won a victory from here. It makes me feel like I want to dance. Woo-hoo! Wait! Bad idea! My back might give out on me.	”

Morgan Were you nervous at all?

Wheeler Petrified! I was scared!

Ernie Come on! You knew you were safe tonight!

Wheeler Seriously! I was scared.

Natalya suddenly remembers something.

“	It suddenly occurred to me that Wheeler is making it to Day 4. When I found out he was going to be on our season, I made a shirt designed for him in case he gets to day 4. So now, I realized that I actually have it with me. And I decided now would be the perfect time to give it to him.	”

Natalya Wheels, I can't believe I remember this. But I got you a gift for the occasion. Here is the shirt I made for you.

The shit is white with square markings. Three of them are x'd out. Imagine like a calendar where you x out the days on the month. Wheeler puts the shirt on and it fits. With a marker, Natalya x's out the fourth square. Everyone claps for Wheeler.

Wheeler Thanks Nat!

“	Now that I've made Day 4, I can no longer worry about the game. I can just relax and enjoy myself while I'm here. Hopefully I make it very far enough to the end. But right now, I'm happy to be sitting here on the fourth day of Survivor.	”

Day 4

Bendigo

As the sun rises for Day 4, Bendigo goes about their own things. For Meifeng and Pam, they decide to explore the nature's wild things.

Pam Ohh! Look at that beautiful yellow flower. It's like the sun's first born child.

Meifeng I say. This flower hasn't been washed for like ages.

Pam I can fix that!

Meifeng No no Pam! We might be on private property.

Pam Oh! Well they must be terrible owners those dirty pigs.

“	Somehow, Pam and I got together and we seem to have this connection going. We both decided to look at all the nature out here even though we're hardly in nature at all because it's mostly barren desert out here. You can say we're like the odd couple here. Pam shì yīgè qíguài de, dàn yǒuqù de rén. Pam is a weird but funny human being.	”

Pam This is so amazing! Just look at the creatures here.

Meifeng Yeah! They sure are.

“	I think Moofine and I will get along just fine. She's a very smart and intelligent person. I think she could be that special pollen and rain for if I feel the heat and burn from pressure and depression. I think we might just make a run at this thing and win it. Maybe I can try and get her to join my alliance with Bill and Chandler. That might work.	”

Pam and Meifeng continue to walk when suddenly, Meifeng freezes.

Meifeng (silently) Pam!

Pam What?

Meifeng Shh! Don't move!

Pam (Silently) Ok! Why?

Meifeng (silently) Hé yè biān lǐng xīyì.

Pam What? My pants are on fire?

Meifeng (silently) Hé yè biān lǐng xīyì.

Pam You need to tinkle?

Meifeng (silently) There's a frill-necked behind you.

Pam My neck is fried?

Meifeng No, a frill-necked lizard. Like a dragon lizard.

Pam Oh! Like a dragon!

Pam turns around to see a frill-neck lizard behind her.

It's frill is out.

Pam Oh! A dragon lizard!

Pam smiles and chuckles before she realizes.

Pam DRAGON LIZARD!

The girls run off away from the lizard who tries to catch up. Eventually the human's speed takes over and they soon reach the premise of the camp.

Meifeng Thank goodness!

Pam I know! It's so crazy and exciting you think the men on Wollongdong would be having a debate about sports.

Wollongong

Sure enough, that's exactly what's happening.

Jackson Overall, Lebron James is the greatest basketball player to play the game.

Xavier Oh come on man! What about Michael Jordan?

Wheeler Michael "Air" Jordan! Now that was a great player.

Xavier Damn right!

Hudson I suppose none of y'all ever heard about Kobe Bryant.

Jackson Got a good point. Kobe Bryant was a bad m*&%$#@!@#$%!

Xavier Hey I ain't saying Kobe ain't bad! I'm just saying I stopped liking him once he changed his number to 24. What kind of s#$% is that?

Wheeler Wait a second! Wait a second! A man has the right to change his number to whatever he wants to change it too. And if the man wants to be wearing number 24, G#$%$@#&*! This is a free country. You should respect his wishes and let the man wear number 24.

Jackson He was born to wear 8. I'm going to know him as 8.

Xavier Mmm! That's right

Hudson I say 8!

Wheeler Get out of here!

Xavier Hahaha! That's right! Thats right! He always gonna be #8. I don't care what the f%&* he change his number too. He is 8. He is 8 to me. I say 8.

Wheeler Well then you're a stump. The three of you. Three stumpies. You should change the name of this tribe from Wollongong to the Three Stumpies.

Jackson Aw phewy old man!

“	Man I must admit it feels cool to be associated with the old guys. They make me feel welcome here. Hey! They call me an all-star for this reason. It's because I made the moves to put myself at the all-star level. I'm just going to continue to hang out with these guys and wait for my moment to come out and strike them like a rattlesnake. Ssss!	”

With that, white stuff hits the glasses of Xavier.

Day 5

Wollongong

Day gets underway and Amy and Ernie are seen together working on grabbing more firewood. They soon start talking about life after their first season together.

Ernie Keep in touch with Fred and Rudy?

Amy Of course! They're like brothers to me. We still hang out together.

Ernie Life of a sports reporter must be great with you.

Amy Not as complicated as life with a fireman!

Ernie Well, we have our issues as well. So when I saw you after I left on TV, you had a boyfriend?

Amy I did!

Ernie Whatever happened to him!

Amy Hard to mention about it.

Ernie You split up?

Amy I really wished you could've been there for me.

Ernie Why?

Amy Um! He was sleeping and there was a party going on and there wasn't anything he could do. The place just got out of control and this flame picked up and...

Ernie Oh! I'm sorry to hear that.

Amy No he's ok! He just had a rough time dealing with it. But he got sent off to England to help recover from life. We did have to break up because I don't think he was ready for commitment yet.

Ernie So why are you blaming yourself? Why tell me you needed me?

Amy Because you did ask if you were ever in town and my house was on fire.

Ernie I only asked to see if you were hesitant enough. I wasn't being serious.

Amy Well I could've used you.

Ernie In Colorado? I was in Ohio!

“	For some reason, I've been thinking a lot about Ernie ever since a fire nearly cost my now ex-boyfriend his life. It was an unfortunate situation and I just don't know why I felt that Ernie should've been there for me that night. Maybe I wanted him to save my boyfriend. But then again, why him? Why do I need Ernie there? Why not another fireman? It's tough for me right now to deal with it.	”

Ernie I'll say that I am a counselor too. I not only fight fires, but I also help people go through stuff like this. You could've called me and asked me about it.

Amy I should've! I just wasn't thinking straight.

Ernie Look it's not your fault. What happened was traumatic. I think in your boyfriend's case, or ex-boyfriend, he just went through something so terrifying he didn't want you to feel sad for him. I think by him splitting up with you after this is probably a good thing. I know he loves you, but he wants to get better. If he does, then I think he'll come back to you.

Amy You think so?

Ernie I haven't had a date in a long time, but I think that's the truth.

“	Amy opening up to me about the struggles with her boyfriend after the fire really got me a sense of where her head is. I think she's going through something so traumatic and something so devastating. But at the same time, I could use her as an ally so that we could make this game fun for the both of us this time around.	”

Ernie If you ever need a direction in where to go or who to trust, just let me know and we'll make something out. Ok?

Amy Ok!

“	I'm being serious when I say Amy should come to me for help on a personal level. But as a player, this could help me be running the show when the time is right and I'll know when that moment happens for sure.	”

Bendigo

Meanwhile, Bendigo, minus Cassidy and Chandler is sitting around having a conversation about life. Then, they get another member to join.

Bill Afternoon everybody!

Bendigo NORM!

Blake What's happening Bill?

Bill Well, it's a dog eat dog world and I'm wearing milk-bone underwear.

Laughter amongst everyone.

Bill So what's hanging?

Meifeng We're just talking about Cassidy and Chandler. Those two are off into the sunset.

Pam How romantic?

Bill Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! You're saying Penn boy and Pin-up girl are an item?

Charlotte I think what Meif is trying to say is that those two have been hanging out for some time.

Bill And that's a problem because?

Blake Because they could be an alliance. That's not a good thing.

Emily W It does worry me that they might be planning something unique.

Bill Look, I'm sure they just went out swimming in a mirage-filled area where swimming with rattlers is the number one rule in this part of the joint.

“	Chandler and Cassidy are out spending time together and that does tend to worry me because who knows what might be going on with them. Blake and I feel like we're the new kids on the block and we're trying hard to see to it that they could be sent home in disgrace. We can't let a romance between them, real or not, affect this game.	”

Emily Bill, wouldn't you be worried if your wife thought you were hanging out with another woman at night?

Bill Would you?

Blake Listen Bill, I think you need to think about this more. If Chandler and Cassidy are aligned with each other, then that might me them two working together.

Bill Look guys! I understand your concerns, but I don't see how that's possible.

Charlotte And what makes you think they're not an item?

Bill Knowing Chandler, he might be going through that frat bot phase of his again like he did in Qatar. But if it's concerning, I'll give that boy a good talking too.

“	Hey look here! I know the kid's going through a lot. You come within one vote of winning the game and you lost thanks to me. It's like the tortoise winning because the hare had been taking steroids which affected it's immune system. Believe me, I've seen it happened in war and in peace. For all I know, Chandler might getting a lesson on what kind of women to date. Should he go out with Hilary Duff or Lindsay Lohan? Who knows? He might be playing doctor for all I care.	”

But Chandler, who is hanging out with Cassidy, is not doing these things. He and Cassidy are chatting in the desert.

Chandler Have I ever told you that you were my favorite on Portland Bight?

Cassidy You're saying that to make me look good!

Chandler No seriously! I mean it! I wanted you to win because you were my favorite on the Clique. It felt heartbreaking to see you go out like that because you deserved better.

Cassidy Ah! You're so sweet!

Chandler So, did you want me to win my season?

Cassidy Actually, to be honest.

Chandler Yeah!

Cassidy I wanted Orlando to win.

Chandler Burn! That hurts! That's a heartbreaker right there.

“	Ooh! The pain of being shot down by a girl. Like I was trying to hit on Cassidy. I mean, come on! Me, being interested in a girl like her. Please! That makes no sense for sure.	”

“	I'll admit that Chandler is cute. But he's not the kind of guy I would date. There's something about him that makes me weary and weird about him. But at the same time, there's something about him that makes me drawn to him. I don't know. What am I saying? I don't like boys! Well, maybe he could be an exception. I don't know. What is wrong with me?	”

Day 6

Reward/Immunity Challenge

Jeff Come on in guys!

Bendigo arrives to see barrels and a pathway.

Jeff Guys getting your first look at the new Wollongong tribe. Yolanda, voted out last Tribal Council.

Bendigo cheers as Wollongong arrives. Bill, Chandlet, and Pam pretend to bow down to the entire tribe.

Bill You are gods! You are gods I say!

Chandler Great job Wheels!

Jeff Wheeler, I see you're wearing a shirt with x's on it. Any reason for it?

Wheeler Natalya made this for me I've been keeping up with the number of days.

Jeff Well it is Day 6 and you have five X's already.

Natalya I'll fix it.

Natalya writes down an X.

Jeff There we go! Day 6 for Wheeler. Alright, you guys ready for your next immunity challenge?

Everyone Yes!

Jeff First things first, Bendigo, I will take back the statue.

Meifeng gives the statue back to Jeff.

Jeff Once again, immunity is back up for grabs. For today's challenge, three members of each tribe will roll a barrel at different points. Inside the barrel will be three other members of the tribe. The first roller will roll along a track and then pass the barrel to the next roller, who will then roll along to the next roller. At three different spots will be numbers with your tribe colors. You will use these numbers once you reach the bottom with your barrel. There, the last three members of the tribe will use the numbers to solve three combinations and unlocking locks. Once you open the box, you will retrieve a hammer and then smash a gong. The first tribe to smash the gong wins immunity, safe from the vote. Losers go to Tribal Council where somebody will be voted out of this game. In addition, you're playing fishing gear as a reward. Food won't be delivered to you easily. You have to find it yourselves. Bendigo, you have one extra person. Must sit someone out. Who's sitting out?

Bill I'll sit out!

Jeff Bill, take a spot on the bench. Everyone else, give y'all a minute to strategize and we'll get started.

As soon as everyone is set, the challenge begins. Blake and Ernie are rolling the barrels first. Inside the barrels for Bendigo are Pam, Charlotte, and Cassidy while inside the barrels for Wollongong are Xavier, Sherri, and Amy. Blake and Ernie go down as fast as they can and they each pass a 3 and a 11 respectively. Soon, they hand off to Chandler and Hudson, who take over and roll down through the 12 and 4 signs. Then, it's Jackson and Nathan's turn to take the barrel and they roll by 7 and 10. Once they reach the bottom, Bendigo's puzzle solvers of Emily, Meifeng, and Reed battle with Morgan, Natalya, and Wheeler. Both tribes are pretty tight. But somehow, Natalya senses where everything is going and quickly comes up with a plan to write down the combos and choose the most simple ones. The plan works and Wollongong garbs the hammer where Wheeler hits the gong and they win immunity.

Bendigo

A defeated Bendigo squad returns to camp following a tough loss to Wollongong. For them, it's going to be a tough thing to go back to Tribal Council after most everyone experienced the heartbreak of being voted out there.

Chandler I can't believe this.

Charlotte It had to happened soon.

Pam Don't worry peeps! We'll get them back as soon as we see them again.

Emily Yeah! No worries! Sorry to whoever gets voted out tonight. But we'll win for you next time.

“	You never really have much time to prepare for Tribal Council because you always think you're going to win. But it's hard to swallow this loss because none of us really had time to prepare for a scenario in which we go to Tribal Council. It's just a question now of who gets voted out.	”

Nathan and Reed are soon meeting up with each other when Blake and Emily join in.

Blake Got a second to chat?

Reed I'm down!

Nathan Me too!

Emily How would you guys like to vote Chandler off tonight?

Reed For what reason?

Blake He and Cassidy have been getting too tight over there and we think this could be a problem.

Nathan Is that an assumption?

Blake Well we don't know! But we don't really want to find out. So we might as well send him off instead tonight.

Reed Ok! I like the idea.

Emily So that's four confirmed. I think we can get Meifeng and Pam on our side as well.

Blake Splendid!

“	Emily and I have an alliance going because we're the new guys and we feel that we should stick together to avoid having a scenario where we get annihilated early. So we're hoping we make some big points by getting rid of Chandler, who's possibly the most athletic kid on this tribe. If we can send him home, by the merge comes around, he won't be much of a problem.	”

Blake Well, we'll get to you soon.

Reed Alright!

As Blake and Emily leave, the two men resume their conversation.

Nathan You don't supposed that those two are trying hard do you?

Reed Nate, I saw this in me when I played. I went much farther then they have, but these two are causing so much insecurity right now with the way they play.

Nathan So we send one of them home?

Reed The girl can stay. But the guy might be a problem.

“	It's pretty obvious that Blake and Emily are trying to get into the game by making moves early. These guys just went through a tough stretch last season where they were eliminated. Now that they're here, they still have the dust and rust of last season with them and they know it. So they try hard to get rid of it early, which is not an easy thing to do. I know that feeling of playing hard early because I wanted to win from the get go. So now, we have two people to look out for.	”
–Reed

Nathan rushes to find anyone who can listen to his plea. He finds Charlotte and Meifeng talking together.

Nathan Sorry to interrupt! But you got time to chat?

Charlotte Yea! What's up?

Nathan I don't know if this happened yet, but Blake and Emily are looking for you two because they want you to vote for Chandler.

Meifeng What?

Nathan It's crazy! I know! I just think they have a sense of ability to make it all the way to the end when they still have Season 4 on their minds.

Charlotte Well Emily never got a chance to play that much.

Meifeng And I think Blake was hurt in his season. So I understand why they would want to do this.

Nathan Anyways! We're thinking about disposing one of them home.

Charlotte Would I be correct if Blake was the choice?

Nathan You bet! If they come by and tell you their intentions to vote out Chandler, just go with their plan.

Charlotte You got it!

Meifeng We'll do!

“	I knew Blake was going to bring trouble when he first arrived. He's not a bad guy, but he's playing like he wants to erase the memory of what happened last season away. That does get annoying to a lot of people. So if anyone deserves to leave tonight, it's Blake.	”

Meifeng quickly finds Pam and they chat.

Pam Chandler's got diarrhea?

Pam I got a rash on my back.

Meifeng I'll speak English here. Pam, Chandler's the target for tonight.

Pam Oh! Who said?

Meifeng Blake, he thinks that us two plus Charlotte will join Nathan, Reed, Blake and Emily together to vote him out.

Pam Ohh! So we don't want that to happen?

Meifeng No we don't! We have to send someone away.

Pam Let's send Meifeng away!

Meifeng I am Meifeng!

Pam Oh! Sorry!

Meifeng Look, we take Blake out, no problem! Got it?

Pam I got it!

“	Pam can be a hard read at times. You have to try and explain things clearly with her. If you can do that, then you'll be in great shape because she knows what to do once you tell her to. So now the plan for Blake is set in motion. Shàn yǒu shàn bào è yǒu è bào. What goes around comes around.	”

By this point, the word has spread about Chandler's elimination although Blake and Emily have no idea that it's happened. Chandler can sense trouble. Cassidy arrives to ease his pain.

Cassidy Guess you heard by now?

Chandler Yep!

Cassidy You nervous?

Chandler Nope! Cause I'm not going anywhere!

Cassidy There's a sign of confidence.

Chandler So what do we know?

Cassidy Blake came up with the idea for your name to be written down.

Chandler Eight votes for Blake coming up.

Cassidy Well some people want to Emily gone.

Chandler Who told you that?

Cassidy No one! Just made it up!

Chandler Well it's a done deal!

“	Last time I played, I ended up receiving no votes during the regulation of Survivor. I still lost 5-4 in the finale. This time, my streak is going to end I know for sure. But all the same, I've been told by hundreds of my friends and Survivor fanatics it doesn't matter how many votes you receive as long as you fight for a chance to win. You can get 100 votes here and if you still win, that's a huge accomplishment. So for me, I won't have to worry one bit about the vote. I just hope everything ends up good for myself and this tribe.	”

Bendigo Tribal Council

As night approaches, Bendigo arrives at Tribal Council where Jeff awaits.

Jeff Behind each of you is a torch, take one, and light it up in the fire. In this game, fire represents your life. When your fire is out, so are you. Well, looking at this bunch, I see some familiar faces of great players. Bill, nice to be back after a long time?

Bill Long time? I guess the calendar changed from 365 days to 100 days a year.

Laughter ensues.

Jeff Pam, happy to be back here as well.

Pam I think I should consider rewriting that speech I gave now that I'm here because it just went back to that dark, scary place and I saw a dragon.

Jeff You saw a dragon?

Pam Well actually, it was a dragon-lizard of some sort.

Meifeng What Pam means is that she and I saw a frill-neck lizard and it chased us till we got back to camp. We're ok now!

Jeff Nathan, does Tribal Council bring you any memories?

Nathan Don't remind me Jeff! I've had to hear it from opposing coaches on how I was the first and only player sent home without immunity while everyone else had one.

Jeff Emily, of everyone here, this is your first time at Tribal Council because you were voted out before anyone else on your season on Day 1.

Emily And I got sent to Redemption Island and the rest is history.

Jeff Are you happy to be here or not really?

Emily I mean, I knew it had to happened at some point. I was hoping not this early. But, at least I get to see it up close and personal.

Jeff Charlotte, what has it been like to have two players from the recent season of Survivor be with you guys?

Charlotte I think it's awesome to see them even though we hardly knew their gameplans. But they have really proven to be worthy competitors here.

Jeff In what way?

Charlotte Well, they've really started to make plans and suggest moves that can work and I know Blake was trying hard to get us to follow orders as to how we should arrange the living conditions at camp.

Jeff Blake, you've been with this tribe for six days. Do you feel you get along with them well?

Blake I think I get along with just about everyone here. I understand that it's not a unanimous reaction to how I want to make camp life be. I'm not trying to upset people, it's just that I've done things differently then others and I want to show everyone how I do things. Would I recommend everyone do it my way all the time? No! But I just wanted to experience a unity on this tribe.

Jeff Reed, is there an advantage to being on an earlier season then a recent season?

Reed I think advantages and disadvantages should be thrown out of the woods Jeff. We all have different playing styles and it really doesn't mean much unless everyone plays the game their own way and it might lead to their sending offs or keepsakes for a long time.

Jeff Chandler, do the Season 3 and 4 players have anything to worry about because they probably made a huge name for themselves when they played?

Chandler I agree with what Reed says. I think it doesn't matter how long ago the season you played in was as long as you try hard to make a name for yourself. I think overall, we just try to do things to help us win the game or else we get voted out.

Jeff But you and Reed never got voted out.

Chandler It's hard to go through the process of surviving for 39 days all over again. Reed and I realize that for sure.

Jeff Cassidy, does your mind start to wonder about the activities going on at the other camp?

Cassidy I can't say that for sure. I mean, what goes on their is out of my control. I can only worry about myself on this tribe. But I do admit that I feel like we're playing a game for the long haul and I hope that whoever wins the game for sure has to realize the struggle and the pain it takes to get there as much as it did the first time around.

Jeff Alright, it is time to vote for someone to go. Let's get into it. Nathan, you're up!

Nathan goes to the booth to cast his vote. One by one, others join in in voting him out. Reed goes to vote for Blake.

“	I think you still got work to go with your wife and the rust cleaning from your system.	”

Others cast their vote for whoever they feel like. Blake goes to vote for Chandler.

“	Take my advice. Love is a serious commitment.	”

Before long, all the votes have been cast.

Jeff I'll go tally the votes.

Everyone waits for Jeff to return with the urn.

Jeff If anyone has an immunity idol and you want to play it. Now will be the time to do so.

No one bothers to move.

Jeff Ok! Once the votes are read, the decision is final. Person voted out will be asked to leave Tribal Council immediately. I'll read the votes.

Jeff No Blake (snuffs torch) Time for you to go.

Challenge: Barrel Rollers
Three members of each tribe will roll a barrel at different points carrying three other members of the tribe. The first roller will roll along a track and then pass the barrel to the next roller, who will then roll along to the next roller. At three different spots will be numbers with the tribe colors. Using the numbers, the last three members of the tribe will solve three combinations and unlocking locks to open a box. Then the tribe will retrieve a hammer and smash a gong. The first tribe to smash the gong wins immunity
