Previously on Survivor[]

  • Harper being a catalyst for drama at Ular caused Connie to turn the tables on him.
  • Divine blindly makes a pact with Connie to save herself and oust Harper, much to June's dismay.
  • Helang wins their second and third straight challenges in a row.
  • Connie gets her wish, blindsiding Harper. 11 are left, who will be voted out tonight?

Challenges[]

Immunity Challenge: Stay Dry
Each player will be pulling a rope attached to a weighted mechanism. The castaways would then try to stay holding to the rope for as long as possible. If the pain is too much, the player lets go of the rope, tipping an overhead bucket of water, which would douse the player with water, eliminating him from the challenge. Last man and woman standing win immunity.
Winners: June and Adrian

Story[]

Night 19[]

The Ular tribe returns to camp after Tribal Council, where Harper was voted out. Adrian demands an explanation from Connie as to why she betrayed them. Connie states that Harper was causing too much conflict at camp and that merited elimination. Connie calms Adrian, promising that she will not pull another one on him again.

Connie and June shocked me tonight. I can't believe my closest ally is gone. The thing that catches me is, I don't have any loyalties with the other tribe, so I am stuck with these bozos.

–Adrian

Divine pulls June aside and confides to her about giving her word to Connie in exchange for voting Harper out. June chastises Divine for risking herself for making such a move. Divine exclaims she does not have a choice. June clears that Connie already made up her mind about voting Harper out, and Divine had nothing to do with Connie's decision.

Divine is quite brash. She was taking credit for swaying Connie into voting Harper out, now promised she's going to let herself be enslaved by Connie for no reason. Connie already made up her mind about Harper, so Div can't take credit for anything. What just happened is that, Connie now controls Divine, which is not good for me.

–June

Day 20[]

Both tribes receive Tree Mail, instructing them to proceed to the abandoned Kadal tribe camp for the merge. June, who planned to stay with Connie only until the merge, is more than excited to reunite with her former LGBT tribemates.

I am so excited to be with Justine and Ronald again. Get me out of this hell hole!

–June

The tribes move to the old Kadal camp, and they find a table full of food and a box containing orange buffs, paint and a blank tribe flag. The members of the merged tribe get to know each other over lunch; and while the tribe is busy doing so, Divine and AJ propose a tribe name for the new tribe: "Banyan" in reference of the species of trees sprawling throughout the island. The tribe agrees.

The mood at camp is so festive. Everyone blows hugs and kisses but it won't take long before the claws come out.

–Justine

Throughout the day, old friends gather, and some new ones. Ambrosia reunites with Connie and is willing to align with her again. Connie asks Ambrosia what became of the Hidden Immunity Idol they found together in which Ambrosia fesses up that she lost her idol during a fishing expedition, much to Connie's annoyance.

Ambrosia is one reckless fellow. We found the Hidden Immunity Idol together, and after all that blood, sweat and tears, she tells me, "oh I dropped it under the sea." I wanted to strangle her for losing the thing, and now I regret giving it to her. I should've kept it.

–Connie

The two girls then talk to London, asking her if she is still with them. While not committal, London expresses her concern about the LGBTs possibly having more seats on the jury and having one of theirs as a finalist.

I am all for open-mindedness, but LGBT people like being represented and express full support if one of theirs is in the limelight. If they make half of the jury and one LGBT makes it to the end, that person wins easily. The dilemma here is that, while I trust Justine and Ronald, they could just pick me off when they get the chance, but at the same time, I can't just go with Connie because I don't trust her at all.

–London

Just as June and Justine are talking about where Divine stands (as per Divine's statement about giving her word to Connie that she will stay with her), they overhear London's conversation with Connie and Rosie. As Connie and Rosie leave, June and Justine approach London, convincing her that AJ and Divine are not a solid alliance. Meanwhile, AJ immediately approaches Connie and Adrian that he is up for aligning with them, stating that Justine is leading the charge in the Helang tribe and she is the closest ally of June. To gain their trust, AJ informs them that June does have the Kadal Hidden Immunity Idol.

This is the right time to strike. I still don't know why, but Justine is turning into a bigger threat. She has June, Ron and the whole Helang tribe at her fingertips. Now my job is to convince Connie and Adrian that June can't be trusted, and Justine is her closest buddy out here.

–AJ

Ronald and Drake notice the groups of people hanging around. On one side, there is Adrian, Connie, Rosie, AJ, and Virgil, while the other has himself, June, Justine and Drake both possibility vying for Divine and London's votes.

It's a war for Divine and London at this point. But they should know better that putting themselves in such a position will definitely hurt them if they can't make up their mind before Tribal Council.

–Ronald

Late afternoon, June personally talks to Divine to make another attempt to convince her to rejoin her alliance. Divine reveals that after they merged, she wanted to break off from her deal with Connie, but she states she does not go back her word. June tells Divine Connie does not care for her, but she does. June then reminds her they are playing Survivor, and words mean little to nothing in this game.

I've been going back and forth about my voting options. I gave a promise to Connie that proved to be inconsequential because she was voting for Harper anyway, but I don't go back from my word. At the same time, I know Connie's a snake, but backstabbing her would be like painful like acid on my face. I really don't know what to do.

–Divine

Late night at Banyan, London approaches Divine, who is visibly pensive. The two share their thoughts about the two existing alliances. London however reminds Divine that she has to make up her mind, or else, the two alliance could just join forces and vote her out because being a swing vote is too powerful. Divine confirms to London that the LGBTs are not a solid alliance, and they have discussed about London's worries about the LGBTs majority in the tribe, saying that the LGBTs would not vote for one of their kind just because they wanted an LGBT to win. The two establishes a bond wherein the two will check on each other regardless of which alliance the other decides to be in.

Divine talked to me about having more LGBT people on the jury and having one of theirs at final Tribal. She told me that their tribe is more than just being LGBT, and they would only vote for a deserving winner, regardless of sexuality. That helps me in making my decision as to which alliance should I be in. I have to make up my mind before Tribal Council or they could just join forces and vote me or Divine out for practicality's sake.

–London

Day 21[]

Adrian gathers the Ular alliance. Connie invites London and Divine to join them to help them weight in their options. Adrian suggests voting Drake out for being the other alliance’s biggest physical threat. AJ, the newest member of the alliance, suggests voting Justine or June out because they co-leads the other alliance. Connie expresses her concern about June, saying that she is most likely to give the idol to Justine. Ambrosia suggests a better alternative: if June opts to use her idol to herself or Justine, they could just vote Ronald out. Ambrosia argues that June is a strong player and she can easily get wind if they do plan to vote her ally out. As the conversation continues, and upon realizing AJ is being in cahoots with Connie without being informed, Divine, who does NOT trust AJ at all, starts to become weary of Connie. Meanwhile, London who at least becomes less weary of the LGBTs taking the game over, is a little satisfied over the turn of events, because at least three of the five LGBTs (June, Justine, Ronald) are in trouble.

Connie should know that AJ is a weasel. But I can't just step in and tell her. He is part of their numbers now.

–Divine

The Helang alliance (June, Justine, Drake, Ronald), though they cannot say they are in the minority just yet, is discussing the vote. Ronald confirms Ambrosia flipping back to Connie. Drake, who is does not feel uncomfortable at all at being the only non-LGBT in their alliance, suggests voting out Connie, now that Ambrosia cannot protect her anymore since her idol was lost back at Helang. He is also open in voting the biggest physical threat in Ular: Adrian. Justine suggests voting AJ out, saying that it could convince Divine and London to join them. This way, London can completely abandon her way of thinking about the LGBTs because they are willing to cut one of theirs. Divine, who distrusts AJ, can be convinced easier.

Today has been chaotic. Both alliances are busy strategizing. It's a mess really. We have to stay on our toes and continue predicting what would the other side do.

–Ronald

Day 22[]

The Banyan tribe meets Jeff Probst for the first individual Immunity Challenge. Jeff reveals that there will be two winners for the challenge, one man and one woman.

None of the survivors have moved after 15 minutes. London's sweaty hands slip off the rope, becoming the first casualty of the challenge. Divine goes out next, followed by AJ from the men. 30 minutes into the challenge, Ronald goes next. 45 minutes into the challenge, Justine bails out, leaving Connie and June for the first necklace, while Adrian and Drake battle it out for the second. Connie bails out at seconds before the 1-hour mark lapses, winning June immunity. With one more immunity on the line, Drake and Adrian tough it out. In the end, Adrian wins immunity after Drake's left arm cramps.

With June immune, the Ular alliance weighs in their odds between Justine and Ronald. AJ insists going with Ronald to catch the Helang alliance off-guard. Adrian makes a surprising suggestion, if neither London nor Divine commits to either alliance, the Ular alliance that has five members strong (himself, Connie, AJ, Ambrosia, Virgil) can simply vote out either girl for practicality’s sake. AJ supports Adrian’s idea because Divine would not want to draw rocks either, which could force her to join them. Ambrosia seconds that with their plan, they can possibly flush out June’s idol. However, Connie, while deems Adrian’s idea as valid, sees a loophole in the plot: Whoever stays between Divine or London is isolated and could just side with June to even to score 5-5, which would force them to draw rocks. Also, June could use the information to persuade Divine and/or London to their side, and the plan would be botched. Connie insists to keep the plan among themselves and let Divine and London out of the loop. That way, the Ulars will maintain the majority.

Adrian makes this idea, which I'm not completely sold to. Without Divine or London, we are 5 strong. Helang has 4. He argues that we could just use the numbers we have to vote either Divine or London because he believes they hold too much power. As much as I would want to argue further, I can't afford to verbally clash with someone at this point, so I'm keeping my cool.

–Connie

Meanwhile, the Helang alliance talks strategy as well. With Adrian immune, Drake insists to June that she has to convince Divine and London to their cause. June reveals her Hidden Immunity Idol. Justine just realized that AJ might’ve informed the alliance about June’s idol by now. Justine insists that Ronald should receive June's idol because he is the least likely to have an idol or receive an idol.

June is perplexed right now because we don't know how this vote is going to be for us. We only have 4, Ular has the numbers advantage, so now, our only hope is Divine and London.

–Justine

Divine approaches Connie, confirming that she will stay with her. Connie tells her to vote for Ronald. Connie in turn goes to London, telling her Ular is voting for Ronald. Connie hopes that Divine and London will stay out of the way.

I don't support this plan of Adrian's. It's too risky to isolate someone, especially swing votes, unless you're that good. The problem is, Adrian's plan is not good at all.

–Connie

While collecting water, June asks AJ of who their alliance is going to vote for. AJ, not knowing what to answer, haphazardly states it’s either Ronald or Drake. Seeing through AJ’s lie, June talks to Justine. June speculates that Connie might be brewing something new. Justine notices that none of the Ulars are talking to either Divine or London as much as yesterday, making Justine believe the Ulars are targeting the swing votes instead. Justine thinks that if London goes, Divine is likely to stay with Connie, thus having a 6-4 majority in favor for Ular because Divine is likely to be scared by the rock pulling tiebreaker. June argues that she could give her necklace to London, which gives London a better impression of her than Connie could. June also assumes that Ular would not vote for her. The financial assistant would then give her idol to Ronald.

I hope my read on AJ still works.

–June

As the Banyan tribe leaves for Tribal Council, Divine and London confide to each other their plans. The girls would stick to their former alliances, with Divine with Connie, and London with June and Justine.

Divine states she is likely to stick with Connie, while I stick with June. Tonight's a defining moment for this game.

–London

I hope what I'll do tonight pays off.

–Divine

At Tribal Council, Jeff asks the tribe how the merge went. Divine states that due to the cordiality of the survivors to each other, she believes that "chivalry is not dead yet". Jeff jokes that someone will be dead after the night is over. Upon asked about the Hidden Immunity Idols, Ambrosia admits losing the Helang idol at sea, while Adrian is not sure what became of the Ular idol.

To everyone's surprise, June reveals the long-lost Kadal idol to taunt the Ulars and audaciously gives her Immunity Necklace to London as a sign of loyalty, ostensibly warning the Ulars from voting for her as well. June whispers AJ's name to London and Divine. Jeff notices the looks on the Ulars' faces, with Connie and Adrian turning their heads left and right to tell their allies to change plans. Virgil is visibly confused as to who to vote for, as Connie insists to vote June while Adrian wants Divine. Connie chastises June's brashness, saying that her move is counterproductive because she just branded herself more as a threat, and Divine should reconsider that what June just did proves that Divine would be worse off if she sides back with her old Kadal tribemate. June fights back, saying that the Ulars barely talked to either London or Divine the whole afternoon, making her believe the Ulars are targeting them instead. Exposed, Connie and Adrian are startled.

After much commotion, the new Banyan tribe votes. Knowing June will give her idol to Divine, they vote for her. Divine thinks June is too much of a threat, and votes for her as well, much to her regret.

June surprisingly gives her idol to Divine for her to use to prove her honesty towards her, prompting the Ulars to giggle. However, Drake makes another surprise by producing the rehidden Immunity Idol from Ular and uses it for June to save herself, negating all possible votes cast against her. Turns out, June's big move would have sent her home as all five Ular votes, plus Divine's were directed toward her, but Drake's idol voids all of them; while Divine's usage of the idol is for naught does not receive votes. However, despite only getting London's support, the Helang alliance's five votes are enough to send AJ home in a 5-0-0 vote. Despite the success of her move, June looks visibly upset by Divine's decision to vote for her despite giving the musician her idol.

The Banyan tribe gets back to camp, and Divine still looks dazed and confused as to what happened back at Tribal Council.
