Story[]

Night 11[]

Following Anastacia’s blindside, the eight remaining members of Vaitape return to camp.

Braidan: Oh my God, that was awesome.

Wilhelmina: I have to say, that felt great. Eleven days in waiting for that, and now I finally know what success feels like.

Kelty: When that fifth vote for Anastacia came around, you couldn’t wipe the smile off my face. Thank you so much, Josephine and Stanley.

Josephine: You’re welcome. It’s what needed to happen.

Wilhelmina: Well, again, thank you. I’m so glad that we pulled that off. We couldn’t have done it without you.

Wilhelmina leans her torch against the tree with a huge smile.

WilhelminaAustinLvR To have pulled off this Anastacia blindside feels incredible. Her alliance thought they had control of the game. We were marginalised for trying to change things up and we got our just desserts in the end. You know, this is extra special for me, because it’s the first real move that I’ve been a part of that was a success. In Eyre Peninsula, I watched all my allies go home then went home myself, and so far out here, all I’d done was follow along with the tribe to eliminate Shanniah. That all changed tonight and, for once, I’m on top.
Wilhelmina Austin

Jensen: Well, I’m glad you feel good, because I feel like utter <expletive> crap.

Josephine: Jensen-

Jensen: How long had you been against us, Josephine? Honest answer.

Josephine: Since about day five. I was the one leaking all the information to them. While you were off screaming at Forrest, it was really me Kelty was getting the information from.

Forrest: Wait, so all the talks we had, those were lies? It was you the whole time?

Josephine: When you shut everything down, I had to make sure none of you suspected me, so I doubled down on my interactions with you guys.

Ruben: Wow…

Josephine: It was just how it had to be. This alliance wasn’t the direction I wanted to go in.

Jensen: So the direction you wanted to go in was to show everyone that you were an untrustworthy, manipulative liar? Cool, do you, but I don’t think it will get you very far in the game.

Josephine: We’ll just see about that.

Jensen: And speaking of people who exposed themselves tonight, Stanley, you just exposed yourself as a massive hypocrite. You were there telling me that we needed to let you in on everything, and we did, and then you were behind our backs the whole time working with them without telling us anything? Seems kinda gross that you made such a big deal out of it.

Stanley: Listen, man, I’m not going to back down from what I did. You guys left me out of everything and made me feel alienated, but if you had been honest with me from the start, this wouldn’t have happened.

Jensen: What about all the times we said we were super close? I was truthful about that. Were you?

Stanley: Yeah, man, of course I was.

Jensen: Why should I believe that when you just flipped and went against everything we talked about?

Stanley: Come on, Jensen, one person making me feel comfortable in a group of five? You’re kidding me if you think that’s enough to get someone to stay. I wouldn’t even let them put your name down tonight, so that counts for something. But if you’re going to sit here and try to rip me a new one for wanting to change my game and not be a pushover, then I’m not gonna have it.

Jensen: A pushover? Dude, there’s nothing weak about sticking with a friend and not leaving him in the lurch.

Stanley: No, there’s nothing weak about sticking with your friends, but you know what is weak? Sticking with an alliance who has made it clear time and time again that they don’t value you, to the point that you have to hear about the goings on in it from the other side. Sending the message that a group of people can do whatever they want to you and you’ll still stick by them makes you a pushover. Not to mention you literally spied on me which goes to show how little you trusted me anyway.

Jensen: Dude, I told you time and time again that I was just trying to see who the other side were targeting. They were going to you. I was spying on them, not you.

Stanley: If you were spying on them, you didn’t tell me about it.

Jensen: You mean like you didn’t even tell me the conversation had taken place?

Stanley: I’m not getting into this with you, Jensen. Call me a hypocrite all you like, but facts are facts, and Wilhelmina’s alliance was fifty times more honest with me than you guys were. I shouldn’t have had to come back to you with the information I already knew to get it out of you, so I made the decision to take control of my game. I still see you as a friend but if you can’t see past that then it’s your problem.

Stanley walks away.

StanleyMoriartyLvR Yeah, I flipped tonight. Jensen tried to rip me a new one for it but I wasn’t backing down. I couldn’t stick with an alliance who never told me anything and always made me feel like I was on the bottom. My friendship with Jensen was, and still is genuine, and I hope he can see that this vote was game related. Being close with one person when one of the other three isn’t even in the alliance, and the two others don’t make an effort to make you feel close, isn’t enough. Wilhelmina, Kelty and Braidan have made me feel welcome and been honest with me, so it was natural that I went with them. That’s the bottom line.
Stanley Moriarty

The camera goes back to Jensen as he huffs.

Jensen: Tonight sucks.

JensenPriceLvR Anastacia going home was the wrong decision for Stanley by far. All Josephine proved by being in on the scheme the whole time was that she was even more dangerous than those three. Wilhelmina, Kelty and Braidan will skin him alive the first chance they get. For the record, I know Stanley made a game move, but I wasn’t going to let him get by without calling him out on his massive hypocrisy. He spent so many times telling me how I shouldn’t leave him out of anything, then not even letting me know what was going down here. People make mistakes in the game, and I was working my ass off with him. Now it’s like I’ve been slapped in the face and I feel like I’m going to be out of here very soon.
Jensen Price

Following Jensen’s confessional, we are taken just slightly out of camp, where Josephine and Ruben are talking.

Ruben: So it was you all along, the one that was leaking the stuff to Kelty. And you’ve been at it for a while.

Josephine: Yes, I’ve been at it since before the first Tribal. If they had decided they wanted to keep Shanniah, then I would have flipped the votes around.

Ruben: Does it have anything to do with me?

Josephine: A little, but not in the way I think you’re implying. It’s not an issue from Upolu. It’s all about what’s going on here.

Ruben: Alright, what happened?

Josephine: How brutally honest do you want me to be?

Ruben: As brutal as you can. I wanna fix this.

Josephine: Okay, but you asked for this…

Josephine takes a deep breath, before continuing.

Josephine: You’re playing the absolute worst game on this entire tribe, bar none. You’re far too obsessed with your image. You want to get rid of this image of you being a sexist, racist, Islamophobic, immature teenager so bad that you’re not even playing the game. You think what you need to do is show blind loyalty and that’s not it at all. You and Forrest have been doing nothing, and your loyalty is the reason I flipped. I want to redeem my image too, but I want to do it through my game, so I wasn’t going to stay with people who were just going to stay loyal to the first person who asked them.

Ruben: Wow… I never thought about it like that.

Josephine: You’re going to drive your image into the ground if you keep playing the way you are. Sure you had the worst social game and you were a jerk, but at least you wanted to shake the game up. Here it’s like you’re almost too scared to do anything for fear of ruining the new image you’re trying to build, but what you’re building is a guy who’s going to do nothing but fill up a spot until his allies decide they’re done with him. That’s not the game I came to play.

Ruben: You’re completely right. I can’t believe that I was just content to let this keep going. I was so concerned with people hating me again that I was afraid to do anything, but it’s just going to make things worse.

Josephine: People won’t hate you as long as you’re a jerk. You’re a huge fan of this game. You know that the people who win are players, and if you’re not here to win but just redeem your image, you’re going to do irreversible damage to it.

Ruben: I feel like I got hit by a truck right now. Damn.

Josephine: I’m sorry, but you asked me to be honest with you.

Ruben: No, I feel like I needed it, so thanks. But still, damn.

Josephine: Hopefully this gets you rethinking about what you’re doing.

Josephine and Ruben part ways. The camera cuts to Josephine’s confessional.

JosephineShabazzLvR Ruben wanted a brutally honest answer and that’s exactly what he got. I’ve been against his alliance since almost day one because the way they were playing infuriated me. I want to redeem my image just like Forrest and Ruben, but sacrificing all my game in the name of being a sheep would make things a million times worse. Ruben loves this game. I know he’s panicked about coming across badly, but that’s exactly what he was doing by not doing anything. Meanwhile, Wilhelmina’s alliance wants to play the game and do it hard. That’s what I want to do, too. Yes, people are angry at me tonight, but I played the game. I would rather go home earlier having played harder than make it deep having floated.
Josephine Shabazz

Ruben: Wake up, Ruben, dammit.

With a deep sigh, Ruben heads back to camp.

RubenArkleyLvR Oof. Josephine just gave me the biggest wakeup call of my life. I was trying so hard to correct my image that I was playing like crap. There’s no way around it. I was just a simp for Josephine and my other allies while the game was being played around me. As a fan, I’d be so bored watching that game play out, and I have no idea why my dumb brain thought that it would work as a player. This is my chance for redemption, you know? And here I am wasting it doing absolutely nothing and thinking being blindly loyal is the way to go. Well, it’s not. I need to pick up my game and make sure people remember me as a player, not someone who filled up a spot of another person who would have played the game properly. <expletive> this image, I’m creating a new image for myself. Ruben 3.0 isn’t going to play around anymore.
Ruben Arkley

Day 12- Tribe Swap[]

Courtland: Alright, y’all, let’s get this challenge underway!

The Otemanu tribe walks in first, followed by the Vaitape Tribe.

Courtland: The tribes are even at eight each, with Anastacia voted out by Vaitape last night.

Some of the Otemanu tribe look surprised. The camera focuses on Simon, who whispers under his breath.

Simon: (subtitled) Both three-timers gone.

Courtland: Alright, let’s get on with things. As y’all can see, there’s a challenge set up behind you, so we’re playin’ for reward today. But before we get to that, it’s high time Legacies and Redemption mixed together, so everyone drop your buffs. We’re gonna change things up.

There is tension in the air as the castaways take off their buffs. Jensen and Prudence look relieved, while Maverick is looking nervous, as is Josephine. Courtland comes around with a tray of buffs, and takes them around the groups one by one, until everyone has a wrapped buff in their hands.

Courtland: Alright, on the count of three, open your new buff and step onto your mat. If you’ve got a blue buff, you’re on Otemanu, and if it’s purple, you’re on Vaitape. One, two, three!

The castaways open their buffs. The camera focuses immediately on Kerri, who draws out a purple buff.

Kerri: Dunce, if you’ve got purple I swear to <expletive> God.

Prudence, with a smile, shows her own purple buff. Kerri rolls her eyes.

Kerri: This has to be some sort of joke.

Panning over the rest of Otemanu shows a divided tribe, with half carrying purple and half carrying blue. The alliance of five has been split up, with Lisette and Ashanda wearing purple, and Maverick, Nathaniel and Simon all wearing blue. Luca has blue, splitting him up from Kerri.

Nathaniel: Well, goodbye.

Lisette: Let’s hope we meet again.

Over on the Vaitape mat, it’s a similar story, with the alliance of five split in half. Wilhelmina, Braidan and Kelty have all picked up blue buffs, while Josephine and Stanley remain on purple. Between the three in the minority, Jensen is the only one separated, as he holds a blue buff, while Ruben and Forrest have purple. Seeing who he’s with, Jensen lets out a long, frustrated sigh.

Jensen: Great.

Kelty, Braidan and Wilhelmina look down at their buffs.

Braidan: Well, we’re all over there. Good luck, you guys.

Josephine: We’ll be fine, won’t we, Stanley?

Stanley: Definitely.

Courtland: Alright, y’all, go meet your new tribes!

The castaways all either move to their new mat or remain on the one they’re currently on, then exchange greetings with the new arrivals.

Courtland: Wow! We’ve got an even four-four split on both tribes. On Otemanu, we’ve got Luca, Maverick, Nathaniel and Simon remainin’, and they’re joined by former Vaitape members Braidan, Jensen, Kelty and Wilhelmina. Wilhelmina, how does it feel to have the tribe like this?

Wilhelmina: I think we’re a great, strong group. I’m looking forward to a change and I think this is where things are going to really pick up.

Courtland: We’ll soon find out, won’t we? On Vaitape, we’ve got original Vaitape members Forrest, Josephine, Ruben and Stanley, who are joined by Ashanda, Lisette, Kerri and Prudence from original Otemanu. Ashanda, do you think Legacies and Redemption are going to be able to coexist?

Ashanda: I definitely think so. To be as short-sighted as seeing it as Legacies vs. Redemption is going to wind up tarnishing your legacy or costing your redemption.

Courtland: Alright, I like it! Let’s get to your first challenge as new tribes. To start off with, six of y’all are gonna swim out, one at a time, to a platform. At the top of the platform, you’ll dive into the water, retrieve a ring and bring it back. When you’ve got all six rings, the two remainin’ castaways are gonna try to land the rings on hooks. The first tribe to do so wins reward. If you manage to win today, you’ll be taken away to a nice little eatery for sub sandwiches made with anythin’ you want, as well as big baskets of fries, and nice, big glasses of chocolate milk.

The castaways get excited.

Courtland: Figure out who’s goin’ where and we’ll get started.

The castaways are awaiting Courtland's signal.

Courtland: For reward, Survivors ready? GO!

Challenge Summary

  • Starting off the swimming is Maverick and Josephine. Josephine has a lead on Maverick by the time they get to the platform, although Maverick is very close behind. They both retrieve their rings and head back.
  • Vaitape keeps their lead for a while, as Forrest and Lisette put up strong showings against Kelty and Simon, although the race remains very close.
  • Otemanu starts to take over as Vaitape has their weaker swimmers left. Jensen overtakes Ashanda, and the remaining swimmers keep Otemanu's lead intact. By the time Wilhelmina is back with the final ring, Kerri has some time to make up.
  • Luckily, she can do that, as Luca and Nathaniel aren't the best ring throwers. Nathaniel has landed one ring by the time Kerri is back, and Stanley and Prudence start to throw rings as well.
  • Vaitape's ring throwers aren't much better, with Prudence landing one quickly, and Stanley landing one, but not having much luck after that. Some time passes, as the castaways look on in dismay, without any rings landed. Of all people, it is Nathaniel who is the best performer. After a long process, despite Prudence getting a couple of rings on the podium, Nathaniel almost single-handedly finishes the challenge.

Courtland: Reward goes to Otemanu!

The ring throwers look relieved that the challenge is over, as do the people who have been watching from the platform and cringing more and more with each miss. They all kind of stand around awkwardly with only some small cheers and congratulations.

Braidan: I thought I was gonna turn one hundred before this challenge finished. Jesus Christ.

The scene quickly resets, with the castaways all on dry land, back on their mats.

Courtland: Otemanu, congratulations. Y'all got there in the end, and now you'll be taken away for some nice sub sandwiches, fries and chocolate milk. Head out to your transport, it's just ahead of us and to the right.

The Otemanu members leave.

Courtland: Well, Vaitape, this wasn't the start y'all wanted for a new tribe, but it's the start you've got. You'll have to head back to camp. We'll see if your fortunes change at the immunity challenge. I'll see you there.

The Vaitape members leave.

Day 12- Winning Tribe Post-Reward[]

The camera opens up on Otemanu as they arrive at the sub sandwich eatery. There are people behind the counter, ready to make the sandwiches fresh to order, with all kinds of meat and vegetarian fillings you could think of and all types of salads and sauces. On the table, there are multiple baskets of fries, and ice cold milk.

Braidan: Well, I don’t know about the rest of you but I am absolutely starving. That challenge took forever.

Kelty: Luca, you’re adorable, but you are the worst ring thrower in the world. (laughs)

Luca: (chuckles) Hey, I never claimed to have good hand-eye coordination. Science was my forte in school, not PE.

Nathaniel: It’s a sad and miserable day on Earth when I’m the best challenge performer of four people. Anyway, let’s get our sandwiches!

There is a montage of the castaways having their sandwiches assembled. We see things like ham, roast beef, chicken and falafel, with sauces of varying sweetness and spice level added on top of typical sandwich salads. They all sit down at the table with their sandwiches on plates afterwards, dividing up the fries and drinking milk.

Jensen: I’ll tell you guys, no matter how slow that challenge was, the aftermath is worth it for sure.

Simon: Yes, I have to agree. What fantastic food.

As Simon digs into the food, the camera cuts to his confessional.

SimonDrysdaleLvR Anastacia being voted out means that both of the other three-timers have gone home back-to-back. Yes, I’m well aware that I had a hand in Kris going home, but that was then and this is now. It’s feasible, with Luca being with us, that he could flip and vote out one of my alliance of three. At that point, it’s splitting hairs and I’ve played more than the other two. On the bright side, this swap, gives me a chance to go back to the drawing board. Plan A was a bust, and now I have to fly under the radar. I can only afford to stick to one of these people, because two will weigh me down. Maverick and I may have been close, but people are more aware of that, so it's definitely Nathaniel who I'll need to save if it comes down to it. I have to start getting cutthroat to protect myself.
Simon Drysdale

Following Simon’s confessional, we skip forward in time to the point where everyone has finished eating, and they are off doing their own thing around the eatery, drinking some chocolate milk. Nathaniel and Simon are sitting on their own, away from prying eyes and ears, talking about their next step.

Simon: So, I have some things to run by you, as long as they stay between us for now.

Nathaniel: I can do that. Are you as worried about Luca as I am? Because I was thinking we could be in danger now that he’s got people on the other side.

Simon: Precisely what I was thinking. I think our alliance is going to be exposed, so we need someone to pin it on. I don’t know much about the four members of Vaitape, but if they’re together, I think we’re in deep trouble. Even if they’re not, I think you and I should take protective action.

Nathaniel: What you’re proposing is an alliance, right?

Simon: Yes, something that goes beyond just being members of the same five. I think that you’re going to catch a bit of heat, but I, being the most veteran player, might catch some too. I know I was close to Maverick on the original tribe, but that needs to change as the circumstances change. I was thinking that, if the situation arose, you and I could collaborate together to shift the blame onto Maverick so he’s the first one to go.

Nathaniel: And in return, you and I would become closer allies? Because truth be told, I’m worried about Ashanda and Lisette over there, too.

Simon: So am I, so it may be best to cut our losses and try to establish some bonds over here while keeping with each other. It’s going to be sad to have to blame Maverick- let me reiterate, if and only if the time comes- but I think our best chance of going far is sticking with each other.

Nathaniel: I couldn’t agree more. Let’s see what we can do here with these people, but I always have your back.

The two finish their conversation. The camera cuts to Nathaniel’s confessional,

NathanielRobertsLvR I’m surprised to see this cutthroat play in Simon. I guess it’s the more experienced competitor coming out. Truth is, I’ve been worried about the future of our alliance since the swap, too. There’s no telling how tight the people on Vaitape are, so we could be in trouble, especially with Luca telling us directly that he was going to flip before. Simon proposed our best bet was to cut our losses and shift the blame onto Maverick if the time comes, which I’m thrilled about. I think Simon and I are both strong players and can be great for each other in the future.
Nathaniel Roberts

The camera then changes focus to the four original Vaitape members on the new Otemanu Tribe- Braidan, Jensen, Kelty and Wilhelmina- as they sit down for a discussion.

Wilhelmina: Jensen, I think we need to have a talk.

WilhelminaAustinLvR I think there’s only one or two ways the swap could have gone worse for me, because this is pretty bad. I’m here with both my tight allies, sure, but Jensen is the fourth person here; the one who took the vote the worst. I was booted around this exact spot in Eyre Peninsula and I’m very worried that history could repeat itself if the Otemanus are tight. If I’m in trouble, I need to figure out a way to get out of it fast, but I can’t start going to them until I know where I stand with Jensen for certain. I’m pretty sure I know where, but better to have explored the option first.
Wilhelmina Austin

Jensen: If your question is whether I intend to stay with you guys or flip, you know the answer after last night. You three are dangerous.

Wilhelmina: Jensen, we were on the bottom and trying to play too-

Jensen: I know, but it doesn’t mean I have to trust you guys or that I want to work with you. If you’re expecting me to stay with you when I was gonna be the next to go if we stayed the way we were, you’re wrong.

Braidan: Okay, fair enough, man.

Jensen: Yeah, I’m gonna take my chances with the other guys. Honestly, it would take something enormous to trust you three after all the stuff you were doing on Vaitape, so, uh… have fun, I guess.

Braidan: Dude, you don’t even know what’s going on with Otemanu.

Jensen: Yeah, I know, but it’s a risk I’m gonna take. I know what’s going on here and I know that if you guys get to the merge or whatever, I’m not gonna last very long. Unless there’s a huge change, I don’t see us working together.

Jensen gets up and leaves.

JensenPriceLvR I’m trying not to be a hotheaded immature baby about this, but honestly I see no reason to stick with Wilhelmina’s group. They’ve shown me they’re all super untrustworthy, they’re always scheming and they’re playing hard. If I help them, what am I going to get in return? Nothing, that’s what. I said to them that it would take something massive to consider working with them, because I was going to be the next one out on Vaitape. That makes my best option working with members of the other side and I have to take it. I’m gonna start spilling some secrets and see who’s open to working together.
Jensen Price

Kelty: Well, there goes that, then. I hope we’re not going to be screwed over here, because I didn’t work my ass off to get Anastacia booted just to go down like this.

Braidan: Yeah, <expletive> that.

Wilhelmina: We’re going to have to ask around and find some holes in the original Otemanus. We’ll need to start talking ASAP before Jensen gets in the ear of everyone.

Kelty: I’ll go around and find stuff out. It’s probably going to be my head on the chopping block again so I don’t want to sit around twiddling my thumbs.

Wilhelmina: Great, let us know what comes of it.

Kelty: Oh, I definitely will.

Kelty gets up and leaves.

Wilhelmina: It’s going to suck being in this position if we can’t get to them before Jensen.

Braidan: Exactly. I don’t really want to sit around on my ass either. I should probably start talking to some people too.

Wilhelmina: Honest opinion, I’d just leave it to Kelty right now. If we all start talking and moving together as a group, I think they’ll unite even harder against us.

Braidan: Ah, righto. It’s just gonna be frustrating because everything inside me is screaming to do something.

Wilhelmina: Trust me, I feel you on that aspect, but I’m trying to protect all of us. Later, you and I should definitely start talking to people, but right now this second, it should only be one of us.

Braidan: Yeah, cool beans.

The camera focuses on Braidan’s frown before cutting to his confessional.

BraidanNashLvR I’m getting pretty annoyed with my spot. Being lumped in with Wilhelmina and Kelty would be cool if I was actually doing anything, but it seems like those two are doing all the work. Kelty was the one to flip Stanley and she’s going to be the one who starts talking to the Otemanus. Wilhelmina seems to be calling the shots and I know she’s closer to Kelty than me. Uuuugh. I just feel like I’m sitting on my hands. She’s kind of right about all of us not talking at the same time, but it would be cool if it could be me first for a damn change. As soon as we can all start talking, I’m gonna start making bonds, because I don’t think I can stay here for much longer.
Braidan Nash

Following Braidan’s confessional, we see Luca sitting alone, with a smile on his face. He is joined by Kelty.

Kelty: Hey, buddy. What are you thinking about?

Luca: Oh, not much, just about this new tribe and the fact my first impression on them is the absolute worst throwing performance in the history of the whole show. (chuckles)

Kelty: Hey, you got the job done, right? That’s what everyone’s most thankful for. At least your throwing will be immortalised in history now, because it still won.

Luca: Yeah, you’re right. (laughs) Regardless of how badly I performed, it was still a winner! And that’s something I can hang my hat on.

Kelty: You’re such an optimist. I really like that about you.

Luca: I like to be positive about things. Obviously not to a toxic point, but I think if you can remain hopeful, then it’ll push you through the tough times.

Kelty: True! I think me being bundled out of Con Dao the way I was put a stop to me being super positive about things. I like to maintain the best outlook, but also be prepared for the realest possibility.

Luca: That’s good too! My mother always used to say that if you focus too much on the future or the past, you’ll lose track of the present,

Kelty: I wish I knew your mom when I was playing Con Dao! Speaking of the present, what are your feelings on the swap? For me, I’m feeling okay. I like our group, don’t you?

Luca: Yeah! As people, sure. Although… I’m telling you this because I like you, please don’t use it against me.

Kelty: Cross my heart and hope to die.

Luca: Okay, well, I’m on the outs of this group. Simon, Nathaniel and Maverick were all part of a group of five, and- ugh, sorry, I feel dirty doing this, because I’ve never flipped on a tribe before, but they did go against me. (sighs)

Kelty: Hey, there’s no need to feel dirty. If you’re on the outs, you’re on the outs. Share for share?

Luca: Sure, that makes sense. (sighs) It’s hard because I like them, but I don’t want to end up repeating my previous game and getting into a bad situation because I kept giving people chance after chance, so… I think that working with other people will be good for me. Not that I would ever hold a grudge, of course.

Kelty: No, of course not. I understand completely. So, what’s going on?

Luca: Okay… (sighs) Remember when Kris was voted out? I was on the outs of that, because Kerri, Kris and I all believed that we were voting for Prudence. Instead, Ashanda, Maverick, Simon, Nathaniel and Lisette all voted for Kris and blindsided us. So, those three are together and there’s me. Anyway, you said share for share, so do you mind if I ask you what happened on Vaitape?

Kelty: You’re probably going to find out anyway from Jensen, so I might as well tell you myself. So, I’m part of my own group of five, which is me, Wilhelmina, Braidan, Josephine and Stanley. We blindsided Anastacia last vote, after we had been isolated by Anastacia’s alliance, of which Jensen was a part. Now he’s not our biggest fan.

Luca: Good on you for standing up for yourself, I say.

Kelty: Thanks! I wish more people saw it like you. Honestly, if you’re looking for a new home, our alliance is pretty solid. You’ll be safe here if anyone tries to come for you, I’ll make sure of it.

Luca: Awwww, that’s really sweet of you, Kelty. Is Jensen going to come for you?

Kelty: He already tried once and I think he blames me for the flip, so I wouldn’t be surprised.

Luca: I don’t like that. If you were on the bottom and stood up for yourself, then I don’t think that should be held against you. If it’s any consolation, I don’t want to see you go home.

LucaEnmoreLvR Listen, I feel a little guilty giving Kelty so much information so soon. It’s not like I’m holding a grudge against Simon and his group, but a promise to get rid of Nathaniel could never be delivered, so I don’t know if anything they gave me was more than lip service. I always said to myself that I wasn’t going to let history repeat itself, so when we swapped and Kelty came over to me, I decided to extend myself to her. I’m usually a pretty good judge of character based on first impressions and Kelty sticks out to me as someone I can rely on. I like her. She explained how she stood up for herself on Vaitape and wouldn’t back down. I think that’s great, and we could become very good allies if she ends up being someone I can trust.
Luca Enmore

Kelty: Awww, you really are adorable. I don’t want to see you go home either. So how about a protect-for-protect?

Luca: Sounds great to me!

The two finish their conversation. Maverick comes over to them.

Maverick: Hey, y’all! Kelty, nice to see you again.

Kelty: Yeah, you too!

Maverick: Luca, man, you keeping Kelty out of trouble?

Luca: (laughs) She’s being nice, aren’t you?

Kelty: Yeah, I sure am! As if I could be anything but nice, Maverick? You know me. (smirks)

Maverick: Sure I do. So, what’s up?

Luca: Oh… not much. We’re just hanging out and talking about life, aren’t we?

Kelty: (catching on) Yeah, just getting to know each other. He’s so sweet and wholesome, isn’t he?

Maverick: Definitely! Mind if I join?

Maverick sits down and the conversation goes on, but at a much different pace. The camera cuts to Maverick’s confessional.

MaverickKnightstoneLvR The swap is cool for the most part, but I never got to prove to Luca that I was serious about working with him. I’m in a precarious position, ‘cause I can’t say it was true or I’ll alienate Nathaniel. Aaaaargh. You know, I would have happily taken that extra loss if it meant not being like this, ‘cause numbers like this are almost like having one less member. I saw Luca and Kelty talking, and they were there for a long time, so I went to see what they were talking about. For all I know, they could have been talking about life, but I felt the energy shift while I was there. I’ve got my guard up, that’s for sure.
Maverick Knightstone

Kelty: I don’t know about you two, but I think this is a fantastic reward, don’t you?

Luca: Oh, it was great! Those sandwiches were fantastic. I kind of want another one. Can I have another one?

Kelty: Sure! The dude is standing right there. I’ll go get you one.

Kelty leaves to get Luca another sandwich. The camera cuts to her confessional.

KeltyBarrettLvR I went to Luca, just because I thought he’d be the nicest one to me and I’d get the most honesty out of him one way or another. I was not expecting to be told the entire history of the tribe! It turns out Luca was on the outs and the other three here with him are in a tight alliance. The same is true on our tribe except I’m the one in the majority, so I was quick to offer Luca a place with us. He’s very sweet and I think he’s taking a chance on trusting me that I don’t want to let down. Maverick must have noticed that we were talking for a while, because he came over, and I noticed Luca shifted the conversation immediately. There’s more going on between those two than just one in the majority and one out of it, and I’m gonna find out what it is.
Kelty Barrett

Following Kelty’s confessional, we are back to Jensen again, as he goes up to Simon. Simon is on his own now, as Nathaniel is talking to Maverick.

Jensen: Simon, do you want to have me make your day?

Simon: It depends. What are you about to do?

Jensen: Give you all the information you need about the other side.

Simon: Oh, then let me have it. (chuckles)

Jensen: Those three have been together since day one. They’re so dangerous and they need to be split up ASAP.

JensenPriceLvR I need to start making connections with the other side, stat. I don’t want it to seem like I’m hotheaded, but because of how scary that trio is together, I can’t work with them. I’d need at least one to leave before I even considered it. With that in mind, I went to the first Otemanu guy I saw and spilled the beans. That was SImon. I hope he’ll realise what a danger those three are, take me in and take them out.
Jensen Price

Simon: That’s interesting to hear. What happened?

Jensen: They’ve just been scheming non-stop. They used scare tactics, they’ve had people infiltrate alliances, they’re always playing super hard, all the time. Anastacia went home because those guys got in Stanley and Josephine’s head. Josephine, we’re lucky she’s not here because she was lying to us for a week and a half about her loyalties. She’d feed the stuff to them, who’d feed it to Stanley and try to turn him against us. They scared Stanley into thinking he’d be screwed or something if he didn’t flip.

Simon: Wow, I see. So it was those three, Stanley and Josephine who made the move against Anastacia?

Jensen: Yep. I’m on the outs and they were going to get rid of me next because I was the only one who was willing to one hundred percent call them out for what they were, which was deceitful, manipulative, fear mongering players. They’re always trying to make the next move and pull off the next blindside. Nobody will be able to be safe with them there, so in my opinion, you should be keeping your eyes firmly locked on them.

Simon: That’s good to know. I’ll keep that in mind.

Jensen: Seriously, man, I would be willing to team up with you and the rest of the Otemanus just to split them apart. That’s how dangerous they are.

Simon: How do you know that I’m solid with the rest of Otemanu?

Jensen: Well, are you?

Simon: I never said one way or the other, is all I’m pointing out. (chuckles) You seem very desperate to get rid of them.

Jensen: I am, man, trust me. Anyone who keeps them around as the three they are is gonna live to regret it. They’re gonna cause trouble, stir the pot, however you wanna put it. They took one alliance apart, and they’ll find a way to take all the others apart too, because like I said, fear mongerers.

Simon: Yes, I got that part of the message loud and clear. Did they approach you with anything?

Jensen: Yeah, but I told them I wasn’t working with them, so I bet they’re trying to find the crack in Oteanu right now and tip the numbers their way. I’m telling you, man, you cannot wait a vote to take them out. It has to be ASAP. We waited a vote and look what they did to us. We should have kept Shanniah.

Simon: Well, thank you for all your information. It’s really helpful.

Jensen: Thanks. And like I said, I’m with you all the way. I’m not gonna do anything to hurt you in the game. I’ve got nothing to gain from it and everything to lose.

Simon: I appreciate it, Jensen.

Jensen: You’re welcome.

The conversation finishes. Simon turns away from Jensen, very deliberately, to make an awkward face. The camera cuts to Simon’s confessional.

SimonDrysdaleLvR Oof. That’s all I have to say about that. Jensen treated me to a barrage of information and anger surrounding the three other Vaitape members he got swapped with. Apparently they’re a tight trio, which is good to know, but I am taking his information with a grain of salt. He was very quick to come to us and spill everything, so no surprises for who took the blindside the worst. In my experience, there must be a reason Jensen’s group fell out of power. He’s also coming across as very bitter and angry. The phrase “fear mongering” had to have come every second sentence. (chuckles) What Jensen said is in the back of my mind, but it did not leave a good impression on me.
Simon Drysdale

Day 12- Losing Tribe Post-Reward[]

Following their loss, the members of the newly formed post-swap Vaitape tribe return to camp.

Kerri: That was the worst throwing I’ve ever seen in my entire life. Jesus Christ.

Stanley: Yeah, sorry, that was pretty bad. (laughs)

Prudence: My strength is puzzles, not throwing, clearly.

Kerri: Yeah, well I wouldn’t care if you were on the other team, but you’re on my team a-bloody-gain. Christ. You’re like a bad smell. Can never get rid of you. It’s a sick joke on behalf of production, I swear. (rolls eyes)

Prudence: I’m everywhere! (smirks) You’ll never get rid of me, Kerri. Never. I’m on your tribe, I’m next to you when you sleep at night, I’m in your thoughts, your dreams… eeeeverywheeere.

The entire tribe starts to laugh, with the exception of Ashanda and Lisette who give small smiles.

Forrest: Well, as my sons would say, Kerri, Prudence lives rent-free inside your head.

Kerri: And I’ve long been ready to evict the bitch.

The laughter starts up again. The camera focuses on Lisette, who is still not laughing. She exchanges worried glances with Ashanda, before the camera cuts to her confessional.

LisetteMcDonaldLvR When we arrived on Vaitape beach, everyone was laughing about how Kerri and Prudence were stuck with each other again, but as far as Ashanda and I were concerned, it was no laughing matter. We’ve been separated from the majority of our alliance, with one person out to get us and one person no one trusts. There’s four Vaitapes, and I would see them getting the advantage over us if they were all sticking together, then it’s lights out. We’re not going to be as dumb to assume that all four are together, so our job now is to find the crack as fast as we can. I’ve been in a terrible swap position before, so I know I can pull my way out. We have to explore every single possibility there is, with every person on this tribe, if there’s any chance of us living to the merge.
Lisette McDonald

Shortly after this, the four original Otemanu members- Ashanda, Lisette, Kerri and Prudence- are talking to each other.

Lisette: So, fate has put us together. Is there any chance of that being more than on paper, and us actually working together?

Kerri: (laughs) How the tables have turned. I was gonna be turfed off at the next Tribal by your group after you blindsided me, so I dunno… what’s to stop me from running to the other group as soon as this conversation finishes?

Lisette: Yeah, that was then and this is now, though. If we break apart, the Vaitape members are going to get the jump on us, and then they’ll end up taking us all out.

Kerri: Funny, I seem to recall that being the exact thing I told you when we wanted to get rid of Dunce. It wasn’t good enough for you then, but it’s good enough for you now?

Ashanda: Speaking of that, are we even gonna get off the ground? Are you even willing to work with Prudence?

Prudence: Why are we asking Kerri and not me? Don’t forget that the pair of you, along with the entire tribe, ignored me into oblivion after Cleo went home. I fail to see why I would work with Kerri for one thing, but the rest of you for another.

Kerri: Gotta agree with Dunce here. I wouldn’t wanna work with her if my life depended on it.

Ashanda: We’ve all worked with people we hate before. Y’all did it in your own season, with each other. Why not now?

Kerri: All three of you have proven you’re untrustworthy so I see myself getting, what, one or two places ahead? I dunno. What’s to stop any of you from chucking me out like you were going to, once you get majority? So yeah, I reckon I’m done.

Lisette: Well, if that’s the way you want to be, but I think you’re making a mistake.

Kerri: Don’t get condescending with me. I have nothing to gain from going with either of the three of you, so I’m taking my chances somewhere else I reckon.

Lisette: I didn’t mean to be condescending, I’m sorry. I just think that us not sticking together is going to end badly for the four of us.

Kerri: I guess we’ll find out.

The group splits up. Kerri goes over to Prudence.

Kerri: Look, I put on that act for them. I’m still with you.

Prudence: Good. I hoped so.

Kerri: Don’t <expletive> me because we’re on different tribes now, because we’re gonna need to stick together, just not with those two.

Prudence: I wouldn’t dream of it.

Kerri quickly walks in the other direction. The camera cuts to her confessional.

KerriThompsonLvR I think it’s hilarious how a swap can take someone who’s on the bottom and put them in the power position. We were working on getting rid of Nathaniel, but we never got a chance to prove that. As far as I knew, the votes were coming onto me. They wanted me out and now they’re trying to use the exact same logic on me that they ignored. Forget it. Lisette and Ashanda proved themselves to be liars, but I think Lisette especially, because I’d take a stab at her being the brains behind that move with Nathaniel. I’m going to try my luck with the other side, and Dunce and I can hopefully take some revenge.
Kerri Thompson

Following Kerri’s confessional and a transitional nature shot, the camera cuts to Ruben and Forrest as they are discussing their first move for the swap.

Ruben: We need an action plan, man. I’d almost bet my house on us losing Jensen right now. I could see Wilhelmina’s group selling him out the second they get there.

Forrest: I agree, unfortunately. I hope that we’re not in the same boat because of Josephine and Stanley. I ought to go and smooth things over with him. You’re closer with Josephine than me, so how are things on that front?

Ruben: Yeah, getting on Stanley’s good side is a great idea. I tried to apologise to him but I guess it looked like it was fake because of what was going on. Hopefully now we can put all that behind us. As for Josephine, she ripped into me last night. (laughs)

Forrest: Oh <expletive>, in a bad way?

Ruben: No, actually, it was the kick up the butt I needed. We’ve been sitting on our asses focused on our images for so long that we lost track of the game and lost allies in the process. With this swap, we can kick it into another gear. It’s possible to be nice people and killer players. When Josephine knows that we’re playing differently, I think she’ll want to work with us.

Forrest: That’s great to hear! You go talk to her and I’ll go talk to Stanley. From there, what’s our next move? We’ll need to start branching out to Otemanu and seeing who’s where. Any ideas on where to go?

Ruben: Kerri has the loosest lips out of everyone, so we’ll get information from her one way or the other. Once I’m done with Josephine, I’ll go to Kerri and I’ll come back to you with the info, alright?

Forrest: How much info are you going to give her?

Ruben: As much as she gives me. If she’s forthcoming, I will be too. We’re losing allies and we’ve already got next to none so the more we can grab here, the better. See you soon.

Forrest and Ruben part ways, with the camera cutting to Ruben’s confessional.

RubenArkleyLvR Honestly, I’m super excited that we swapped. Yeah, my position isn’t the greatest in the world and both Forrest and I are resigned to the fact we’re losing Jensen, but it’s a chance for me to be Ruben 3.0! I can still be the player that the jerk-ass gremlin was without being the jerk-ass gremlin. Forrest and I have already laid down a game plan, so I’m gonna link up with Josephine and then get information from Kerri. Kerri is cool because if she wants to work with us, I’ll open the floodgates and get everything. If she doesn’t, she'll tell me as such and that’ll be equally beneficial. I’ve been sleeping for twelve days, but now I’m wide awake and ready to kill it.
Ruben Arkley

Following Ruben’s confessional, we see Forrest and Stanley sitting down together.

Forrest: Well, Stanley, we’re here again after last night. (chuckles)

ForrestStephensonLvR My first order of business on this swapped tribe was to bury the hatchet with Stanley. I want to make it clear to him that there’s absolutely no ill will, and I’m willing to work with him if he is with me. It’s entirely our fault that he flipped in the first place, so I won’t be holding any grudges. While it is strategic on my part as well, to get numbers on my side, this is genuine above anything else. I’d like to be able to make things up to Stanley in any way I can.
Forrest Stephenson

Stanley: Yeah, damn swaps, huh?

Forrest: Actually, I’m really happy with this.

Stanley: That makes me feel relieved. I thought you and Ruben were gonna kick me to the ground after I flipped on you guys last night.

Forrest: Actually, the complete opposite is true. I want to bury the hatchet and work with you, if you’re willing.

Stanley: ...You’re serious. After I put you on the bottom?

Forrest: Completely. And you’re wrong, Stanley, you didn’t put us on the bottom. We did it to ourselves with our, frankly, stupid play. Anyone in your situation would have jumped and that’s entirely on us for not treating you the way you deserved to be treated. We should have included and trusted you more, we didn’t, and we got what was coming.

Stanley: Wow, I’m surprised you’re so forgiving, to be honest. Jensen went off on me and I thought that was the main feeling the group had.

Forrest: Never mind Jensen. I don’t need to be forgiving towards you because there’s nothing for me to forgive. I need to ask for your forgiveness for treating you so badly in the first place, and that’s what I’m here doing. I apologise to you for the missteps of our alliance completely, unreservedly, and from the bottom of my heart. If you can find it in yours to put the past aside, I’d love to stick with you.

Stanley: Wow. That blew me away, man. That’s the first genuine thing I’ve ever heard from your group and I didn’t think for a million years it was coming.

Forrest: Well, life is full of surprises. (smiles)

Stanley: Definitely. You know, Ruben apologised to me earlier, as in before the Anastacia vote, but I thought it was full of crap because of the timing. (laughs) But this one, you have nothing to gain from half-assing an apology when you can just kick me out.

Forrest: I wouldn’t dare. So, can I consider the hatchet buried?

Stanley: Hatchet buried. I hope we can work something out.

Forrest: Fantastic. I’ve got Ruben, so I’ll let him know what happened, and hopefully the four of us Vaitapes can stick together, bring one from their side and take the majority.

Stanley: Sounds like a plan! I’m so excited.

The two finish their conversation. Stanley is all smiles as the camera cuts to his confessional.

StanleyMoriartyLvR The absolute last thing on Earth I expected was for Forrest to not only bury the hatchet but want to work together. I was expecting him and Ruben to run to the Otemanus as fast as they could, leak the alliance of five, and send me out ASAP after my crappy performance today. Forrest’s apology to me is the most genuine thing I’ve heard all game, so I’m satisfied enough to start working with him and Ruben for real this time. Where was this guy twelve days ago? If we can keep the Vaitapes together and get one Otemanu, then I’ll feel comfortable in my position for the first time in this entire game.
Stanley Moriarty

Following Stanley’s confessional, the camera transitions to Ruben and Josephine talking together.

Ruben: Here we are again, huh?

Josephine: Yes, indeed. What’s your plan?

Ruben: My plan is to stick with the Vaitapes and pull an Otemanu to get us the numbers. Not out of blind loyalty or anything, but because I think it’s the best move for me. If I were to run to Otemanu like I ran to Apolima in Upolu, it’d end badly. I don’t see a way I can get to the end without sticking with you guys. So, that’s what I’m doing, if you’re willing to work with me.

Josephine: Like I said to you last night, I’m very open to working with you if you’re prepared to actually play. If you’re just going to blindly follow people, that’s not for me.

Ruben: No, I promise you I’m not. What you said to me last night really kicked me up the butt and I wanna play harder now. That’s why I’m trying to bring the Vaitapes together and get information from Otemanu so we can see who’s on the outs. I was thinking I’d go to Kerri first, because I’ll find out where she is one way or the other. That’s a start, but the goal would be to get as many people for us as we can and take a majority.

Josephine: And it doesn’t bother you at all that you were going to be on the bottom if Vaitape had stayed the way it was?

Ruben: No, not at all. Forrest and I know we’re gonna lose Jensen at the first vote Otemanu goes to, so we have to rebuild. If we go in divided then everything’s gonna hit the fan, so I’m trying my luck with rebuilding and then picking up from there. Surely you and Stanley know that Wilhelmina’s group has the majority with the trio, so as backup votes we’d be great for you.

Josephine: Yeah, I do know that. It was the same way I felt in Anastacia’s alliance, which you’ve pretty much just confirmed for me. (laughs) I’m on board, though.

Ruben: Awesome! I’m gonna go talk to Kerri and see what’s up with her, then I’ll come back to all the Vaitapes and let you know. I’m so excited for this. I can finally start playing!

Josephine: Sounds great!

Ruben and Josephine part ways. The camera cuts to Josephine’s confessional.

JosephineShabazzLvR I got my wish and Ruben is finally playing harder. I’m a little concerned about it all, though. He wants to get the Vaitapes together and pull an Otemanu over, but through his own admission, he’s not going to ignore what happened. He knows Wilhelmina’s group holds the majority, and I think he’s already hinting at taking them out later with me. It opens up a lot of bad possibilities for me, as Ruben might take his new numbers with Forrest and send me home when he has a proper majority. I’m on board with his plan for now, but I’m not going in there defenseless, so I need some backup.
Josephine Shabazz

We join Ruben again as he is walking with Kerri.

Ruben: So, I wanna know if you’re willing to give me information about Otemanu. I’m happy to give you as much as you give me.

Kerri: I’ve been waiting since we got here for someone to ask me that. More than happy to oblige.

Ruben: Great!

Kerri: Alright, you ready? ‘Cause I’m gonna give you everything. That Kris blindside? Not everyone did that, and I was one of the ones who didn’t. Instead, there was an alliance of five that broke out and left us in the dust. Ashanda and Lisette are part of that group.

Ruben: Wow, okay.

Kerri: We were supposed to get rid of Dunce, and Lisette swore up and down that her group was with us, but nope, double crossed. Lisette’s the brains behind that group, I’m sure of it. Or, at the very least, she’s really closely connected with who is running the show. She’s gotta be first on your list.

Ruben: You weren’t kidding when you said everything.

Kerri: Not done yet, mate. Buckle up. Anyway, they came to me and Dunce as soon as we got here. They wanted us to put all the <expletive> behind us because Vaitape was gonna work together and pick us off. I said to them that was the exact thing I told them to get rid of Dunce and they ignored it then, so why should I listen now? Long story short, I shoved it.

Ruben: As you should have! Man, I can’t believe they had the balls to go up and do that. So, what’s the story with you and Prudence? Are you gonna work together? ‘Cause I know y’all had major beef last season.

Kerri: Oh yeah, still do. I tried to get people to get rid of her twice and they didn’t do it both times. As for working with her, to get rid of Lisette? Absolutely. Anyone else? Rather die. That’s it from me, Now it’s your turn.

Ruben: I was in a pretty similar situation to you on Vaitape, actually. Almost identical. The Anastacia vote was done by a group of five that I wasn’t part of, that Josephine and Stanley were a part of.

Kerri: Stanley? That prick who couldn’t even throw a <expletive> ring?

Ruben: One and the same.

Kerri: Well, <expletive> him off right after Lisette.

Ruben: The funny thing is I think they’re both scared we’re gonna do exactly that. What if we got rid of Lisette first, then Stanley? I think we’d easily get him and Josephine to put votes that way.

Kerri: Decent idea, but Stanley’s <expletive> at challenges, so we might have to do him first. You got any buddies on the other side?

Ruben: Nah. Just Jensen, but he’s screwed the second Otemanu goes to Tribal. You?

Kerri: One. Luca.

Ruben: So we’re pretty much in the same boat then. Would you be cool to do Lisette first?

Kerri: What if we had to do Stanley first? Who would we have for that?

Ruben: I guess me, Forrest, you and Prudence… but that’s only four, so if we got Lisette out, I think that would be majority.

Kerri: Honestly, if there’s any way we can do Stanley first, we probably should.

Ruben: Agreed, I just don’t think there’s a way, so let’s stick with Lisette for now.

Kerri: Sounds like a plan.

Kerri and Ruben keep walking. The camera cuts to Kerri’s confessional.

KerriThompsonLvR Ruben came up to me wanting info, which I gave to him, because I have no intention of staying with Lisette and Ashanda, particularly Lisette. He gave me information back, and I was thinking, “Great, we can team up and knock out Stanley and Lisette.” For some reason, he thought we could only get rid of Lisette this first vote. Which, fair enough, maybe he’s playing the Vaitapes too, but I don’t wanna let myself get <expletive> over again. For a guy who got burned by Stanley, he’s too reluctant to get rid of him and that makes me suspicious. Stanley’s gotta go first and I’m gonna pull those numbers ASAP to back Ruben into a corner. We’ll soon see if he’s being legit with me.
Kerri Thompson

The camera then changes focus to Ruben, as he is looking a little frustrated.

RubenArkleyLvR Kerri seemed really excited to work with me initially and I told her that we could get the Vaitapes together. She wanted Lisette out first, so we exchanged all the information, and now she’s backtracking a little. She kept getting stuck on Stanley first, which isn’t how I wanted to do things. I’d have to make a four with Forrest, Prudence, and the two of us, which might work for Stanley and Lisette's boots, but I dunno how far we’d go. Ugh, maybe working with Kerri isn’t the best idea after all.
Ruben Arkley

There is another transitional nature shot following Ruben’s confessional, and we return to normal time as Josephine, Ashanda and Lisette walk to a secluded area.

Josephine: Thanks for coming with me. I wanted to get a moment alone with the two of you.

JosephineShabazzLvR In my quest for backup, I decided to talk to Ashanda and Lisette. Ruben’s plan to speak to Kerri makes me think there’s a possibility that those three aren’t on good terms. If I can figure out the situation there, I can align myself with Ashanda and Lisette as a backup in case this Kerri thing falls through. I might get more information on Kerri, too. I’m not about to throw myself headfirst into something when I don’t know who I’m going with, so this is my way of gathering all the information I need.
Josephine Shabazz

Lisette: Of course. What do you want to talk about?

Josephine: I promise this has a purpose, so please give me a little bit of a branch here. What’s your relationship like with Kerri?

Ashanda: (laughs) It’s nothing positive, that’s for sure. She told us to shove it when we tried to talk to her.

Josephine: Okay, then you’d be interested to know Ruben’s talking to her right now trying to get information.

Ashanda: If that’s the case, we’re absolutely screwed. Kerri’s going to give him everything.

Lisette: Yeah, Kerri’s a free agent and I do not like it. We might as well tell you what happened since Kerri’s going to let it slip anyway. We were part of an alliance of five that took out Kris. We’ve been split across the tribes.

Josephine: I’m part of an alliance of five, too. We took out Anastacia last night, and one guess who’s not in it with me.

Ashanda: Ruben.

Josephine: Bingo. He and Forrest were on the outs of it, and I was with Stanley. We’re in identical situations.

Ashanda: Which means you’re likely about to be screwed too.

Josephine: I’d say he’s telling her what’s going on, but as far as I’ve heard, he wants to work with her and get the Vaitapes together.

Lisette: So in all likelihood, it’s one of us who are the first in danger, unless you want to come with us.

Josephine: I think we should align together and protect each other. We’d need to agree on a unanimous target and build our majority afterwards.

Lisette: Easy. Kerri first, because she’s just too much of a wildcard. Then the majority four ends up being the three of us and Stanley.

Ashanda: I like the sound of that. You in, Josephine?

Josephine: Definitely.

The three confirm their pact. The camera cuts to Ashanda’s confessional.

AshandaJaneWashingtonLvR This swap isn’t the greatest, but I’m managing. We were lucky to find Josephine, who’s in the same situation as us and told us what was happening. Kerri’s leaking everything. Her being a free agent could either be really good or really bad for me, and right now it’s really bad. Josephine seems like she wants to work with us, so maybe we can get rid of Kerri first and put ourselves back on top. I’d love to send her home, since I was ready to get rid of Nathaniel for her and she’s pulling stunts like this. (laughs) It shows that this game is getting tougher and tougher now. Once I’m in a safe spot, I might have to bring back a little bit of the old Ashanda to get things back to the way I like them again. For now, though, I’m just going along with this Kerri plan until something changes.
Ashanda-Jane Washington

Day 13- Otemanu[]

The morning of Day 13 opens on the Otemanu Tribe with Kelty and Luca walking together in the forest.

Luca: Thanks for coming with me!

Kelty: No worries!

Luca: I thought that we could strike up a friendship. I really enjoyed talking with you yesterday and want to do it again.

LucaEnmoreLvR Kelty and I really bonded on the reward yesterday, so of course I wanted to spend a lot of time with her today as well. I think what happened was the start of a good friendship, but I want to consolidate that for sure. I got a really good vibe from her, and I think the two of us could work well together. I’ve been looking for some more allies since I got here and if I can get a great friend out of it, that’s a bonus!
Luca Enmore

Kelty: Strike up a friendship? I thought we already had one!

Luca: Oh, we do! I just want to make it even stronger.

Kelty: Nice backpedal. (smirks)

Luca: (laughs, makes reverse bike motions) Did it work? Can we start this over again?

Kelty: (laughs) Sure. Can we sit down?

Luca: Absolutely.

The two of them sit down.

Kelty: The trees are so pretty out here. This really is a beautiful place. I can see why it’s a holiday hotspot.

Luca: Yeah, definitely. I feel so lucky and blessed to come here. Would you ever come back here to holiday?

Kelty: Oh, eventually if I ever pick up a man. (laughs) I think this would be an ideal honeymoon spot.

Luca: Absolutely! I want to take my girlfriend here one day. I hope she’ll get to come out here for loved ones and I’ll show her around.

Kelty: Ooooh, cute. What’s her name?

Luca: Ernestine! We’ve been dating for a few months. I’d take so much joy in showing her everything, especially the birds around here. She doesn’t know as much about birds as I do, but she listens attentively. That balances out with me knowing next to nothing about cycling, which is her passion. (laughs)

Kelty: Oh, you and your birds. It’s so cute. (smiles)

Luca: It’s all fun and games until someone calls you a zoophile.

Kelty: (rolls eyes) People are gross. People just need to leave others be. Speaking of that, which I am so not about to do, what’s the deal with you and Maverick? I sensed a little bit of awkwardness between you two.

Luca: Was it that obvious? Well, I want to work with you, so I’d best tell you the whole story. Maverick was in on the group of five that blindsided Kris, but told me that he was the one who didn’t want to do it. Then he decided, to make it up to us and show that he was loyal, he was going to get rid of Nathaniel.

Kelty: Get rid of Nathaniel? Wow. Honestly, that seems like a play out of his book, although I know he’s not trying to play like the Mavolution character. I take it Nathaniel had no clue?

Luca: None at all, if it was happening. (laughs) I mean, from everything he told Kerri and I, it seemed like it was. But we never went to Tribal, so you never know. I’m not sure whether I can trust what he said, or whether he was just trying to make me feel comfortable. On that note, I would much rather work with you.

Kelty: Well, Braidan and Wilhelmina will both be very happy to have you. I have no doubt Jensen has already turned on us. Would you mind if I told them about the stuff you’re telling me?

Luca: Go right ahead. Thanks for the talk, by the way, Kelty.

Kelty: No worries at all! Thanks to you too. I take it our friendship is struck?

Luca: Definitely.

Kelty and Luca laugh, then Kelty leaves. The camera cuts to Kelty’s confessional as she is all smiles.

KeltyBarrettLvR Luca is a great person. Strategy aside, we’ve really clicked on a social and personal level. His positive attitude is infectious and it’s making me feel great about the future. We’ve locked down working together and I know that he’s the one person I’m going to be able to trust one hundred percent in this game. I love Wilhelmina and Braidan, but trusting them to the end? No, they’re going to crack sooner or later. (laughs) Speaking of cracks, I’ve found a huge one. Luca told me that Maverick was willing to cut Nathaniel to please him. Whether that’s true or not, no one knows, but all we need is the suspicion and we can get people to turn on Maverick. Jensen and an original Otemanu both in the firing line would be a dream start.
Kelty Barrett

Kelty is next seen going back to Braidan and Wilhelmina to report the information Luca gave to her.

Kelty: Guys, I have amazing news. Luca wants to work with us and he gave me some of the best information we can work with!

Wilhelmina: Wooohoo! What did he say?

Kelty: He told me that Maverick was trying to get rid of Nathaniel before the swap, because they’d blindsided Kris and left Luca out of it. Maverick wanted to do damage control or something but never got the chance to prove whether he was being serious or not. This is the kind of thing we can use to split the rest of the Otemanus and go after Maverick if we want!

Braidan: Cool, good job. What about Jensen, though?

Kelty: Oh yeah, Jensen is a huge problem. This gives us more than one option, though, and prevents them from getting back together. If we want to get rid of Maverick first, we can go down that path.

Braidan: Nice, multiple options. Great job.

Wilhelmina: Yeah, I completely agree, Kelty. I can’t believe Luca gave you all that information. You’re really good at getting people over to our side. (laughs)

Kelty: I guess I am!

Braidan: Yeah, you are.

The three finish the conversation and part ways. The camera focuses on a frustrated Braidan.

BraidanNashLvR So, Kelty got Luca over to our side and gave us an option to get rid of Maverick. Kelty flipped Stanley. Kelty’s so good. Kelty this, Kelty that, Kelty, Kelty, Kelty. Wilhelmina eats up everything she does, too. Those two are viewed as such big threats playing the game, and no one’s paying any attention to me. It’s annoying. I’m feeling stifled and like I can’t do anything without it being credited to them. I’m the one who put Anastacia’s name forward, but no one’s thinking about me? I think I need to start moving away from them, and if Kelty can have her own little Otemanu buddy, I can too.
Braidan Nash

We next see Braidan as he is down on the beach talking to Nathaniel.

Braidan: Hey, man, I’m kinda frustrated with my spot in the game right now. You know, being in an alliance where everyone else gets the credit and all that. You get me?

Nathaniel: Oh yeah, of course. You want to do something together?

Braidan: I’ve got some info hot off the press for you if you’re interested in it.

Nathaniel: It depends what that info is. Hit me.

Braidan: Well, I have it straight from Luca’s mouth, who told Kelty, who told me, that Maverick was actually planning a hit on you if you guys lost the last challenge before the swap.

Nathaniel: Wow… Maverick was? Are you serious?

Braidan: Yep. Apparently it was damage control to keep Luca on his side or something, and as far as Maverick had told Luca, they had the numbers big time. You got to the swap by the skin of your teeth, my man.

Nathaniel: Jesus Christ. I did not see that coming at all. I thought we were a solid five.

Braidan: Sometimes people pull dirty <expletive> like this. Anyway, I was thinking that we could get together and fix something up. You’ve got people you need to cut, I’ve got people I need to cut, we’re both in groups of “five” that have weaknesses in them. There are people I wanna cut and keep and I’m guessing the same for you, right?

Nathaniel: Based on the information you’ve told me now? Definitely. I could do without Maverick, and it seems like Luca has turned on us. Who do you want to get rid of?

Braidan: Jensen needs to go, one thousand percent. He’s not with me at all but he’s turning on us, and he’s gonna run back to his own tight trio. I’d like to split one of Wilhelmina and Kelty and keep the other one, at some point. How’s your relationship with Simon?

Nathaniel: Pretty good as far as I can tell. Maverick doing this actually benefits the both of us. Me, you and Simon could team up together and at the merge, we could pick our favourites and work together.

Braidan: Sounds like an amazing plan. If we did Jensen or Maverick first, then started picking at the three that’s forming between Kelty, Wilhelmina and Luca, we would be in a fantastic position.

Nathaniel: Thanks for telling me about this. I’m really looking forward to working together.

The two finish their conversation and Nathaniel gets up and leaves. The camera cuts to his confessional.

NathanielRobertsLvR I thought I’d solidified a group of five, so to hear that I was one immunity loss away from being a pre-swap boot is a huge shock. Braidan told me that Maverick had tried to organise a hit with Luca for damage control purposes, which immediately throws everything he’s saying about not playing as the Mavolution character into question. He was trying to play both sides and got caught. Simon and I already had a deal to pin this on Maverick if Luca was flipping, so I’m going to Simon to get to the bottom of this and formulate a plan.
Nathaniel Roberts

Following Nathaniel’s confessional, there is a transitional nature shot before the camera picks up on Maverick and Kelty walking together.

Maverick: Thanks for walking with me, Kelts. I just wanna clear the air a little.

MaverickKnightstoneLvR Things have gotten pretty quiet for me since the swap happened. The conversation yesterday with Luca and Kelty didn’t go anywhere, and Simon and Nathaniel haven’t spoken to me much. I’m starting to get a little worried that the tide might be turning against me. I know that Kelty and I weren’t on the same page at all in Con Dao. I want to make sure she’s not carrying anything over from there, or that she thinks I am against her, because that’s not the case. If we can clear the air, I might be able to work something out with her to get me out of this hole.
Maverick Knightstone

Kelty: Clear the air? Has something happened? Who’s talking <expletive> about me? (laughs)

Maverick: Nothing, and no one. I’m starting to get a little antsy because we’re about a day in and things have gone really quiet on my end. I wanted to know if we’ve still got any beef from Con Dao, and if we have, can we squash it?

Kelty: There’s no beef on my end, bud. It would honestly crush me if there was on yours. I didn’t come out here for redemption to get stuck in the past.

Maverick: Phew, that’s such a relief, because I’m trying to actually shed the Mavolution character and play as myself. (laughs) I really wanna get something going, though, ‘cause I think the tide is starting to turn.

Kelty: Oh yeah, so you want to work together?

Maverick: At the very least, keep my options open, but I think I’d need to go with you to do something. I don’t like how things have shifted here. I was in a group that blindsided Kris, even though I didn’t actually want to do it, and I think Luca is a bit nervous. Makes me feel like I’m gonna get the fall for it since Nathaniel and Simon have started distancing themselves.

Kelty: I know exactly how it feels to have an eternal target on your back. I’ve got my main core over here of Wilhelmina and Braidan, and last tribal we blindsided Anastacia. Jensen has been our biggest opponent and has wanted us gone from day one and that just made him madder. Now I’m stuck with him again and he’s definitely going to come after us.

Maverick: Well, if you got your trio, Luca, and me, that’s five against Jensen right off the bat. If he goes home I’ll happily work with y’all. It would give me a chance to show Luca that I’ve got nothing against him, either.

Kelty: Sounds great! I’d love to get rid of Jensen. I’ll figure things out and we might be able to work together.

Maverick: Thanks, that makes me so happy.

Kelty: You’re welcome!

The two finish their conversation. The camera cuts to Kelty’s confessional as she’s thinking things through.

KeltyBarrettLvR Maverick astounds me sometimes, because underneath the whole Mavolution persona, there’s a very smart player who’s coming out more and more as he sheds the persona. He was prepared to do damage control for Luca and now he has already sussed out that things are starting to turn against him. That could go one of two ways for me, in that he’s either someone I need to get out ASAP or could use to get rid of Jensen. Jensen has wanted me out since almost day one, and I know he personally blames me for the Anastacia boot. If Maverick is a number for me, it’s a lot more tempting to work with him over Jensen. I feel like I can turn the dynamic of this tribe to my will, because everyone’s coming to me. I have a lot of power right now and I need to manage it carefully.
Kelty Barrett

Following Kelty’s confessional, we see Simon and Luca talking together.

Simon: So, Luca, if you don’t mind me asking, where’s your head at right now?

Luca: Ummm, well, you’re not going to like me for this, but I’m thinking about going with Kelty’s side.

Simon: I see. What drove you to that conclusion?

Luca: General bonds and trust. I’m sorry, I know you’ve said that you’re loyal to me, but I’m not going to overlook the Kris blindside and be led to my own slaughter again. Since you guys never had the chance to prove that you were being serious, I can only take you at your words.

Simon: Hold on, back up a bit. What do you mean “had the chance to prove we were serious?”

Luca: Oh, um… Maverick said that you guys were going to blindside Nathaniel at the next Tribal Council. But now you’re confused, so… was that real?

SImon: Oh, no, Luca, we never locked down a plan about that. Maverick discussed it with us, but we never said anything for sure. Anything he was telling you about definitely blindsiding Nathaniel hadn’t been confirmed yet, and now it makes me suspicious of him because he was lying to us as well.

Luca: Wow… I had no idea he was just lying to me.

The camera quickly cuts to Simon’s confessional before the conversation continues.

SimonDrysdaleLvR Nathaniel spoke to me earlier today, letting me know that Braidan had heard from Luca about Maverick’s plan to blindside him. I immediately went into defense mode, because this was all Maverick, and I made it clear as such that I had nothing to do with it. The fact Maverick was so gung-ho about this made it all the easier to pin it on him...
Simon Drysdale
(Pt. 1/2)

There is then a flashback to Nathaniel and Simon’s earlier conversation.

Nathaniel: So, was there really a plan to get rid of me?

Simon: It was all Maverick’s idea. He was backing out of the alliance hard, and he wanted to save some face with Luca. He discussed it with us but we never locked it down. I have no idea why he went and told Luca before we had even agreed to anything.

Nathaniel: So you and I, we’re still solid on our plan?

Simon: Yep, through and through.

Nathaniel: We can use this to our advantage then. Go and talk to Luca. If he asks about the plan-

Simon: I’ll pin it all on Maverick.

The camera then goes back into Simon’s confessional.

SimonDrysdaleLvR ...and that’s exactly what we’re doing. Nathaniel has his sights set on Maverick, and now I’m going to set Luca’s sights on him too. This whole thing has the risk of getting out of hand, but I think I’ve reeled it back in just enough. If Luca’s with Kelty, that puts me on the bottom, and now I need to focus on just escaping our first Tribal so I can rebuild.
Simon Drysdale
(Pt. 2/2)

Simon: To me it seems like he’s trying to play both sides so as to make himself seem like the good guy in the situation. Let me tell you that Maverick was just as in on the Nathaniel blindside as the rest of us, and everything else is damage control.

Luca: So everything he told me about not really wanting to do it…

Simon: ...Was a boldfaced lie. If he really didn’t want to do it, he would have put his foot down and we wouldn’t have done it.

Luca: Oh, wow… Simon, I hope you’re not lying to me here. I would hate to be just caught in some neverending web of lies.

Simon: Luca, I’m being deadly serious. Maverick and I never locked anything down about getting rid of Nathaniel, just floated the idea around. Frankly it irritates me that Maverick’s trying to dodge responsibility by saying he didn’t want to do it. He’s trying to throw us under the bus and make himself look good.

Luca: Thanks, Simon. I appreciate you being honest with me.

Simon: Thanks for letting me know what was going on.

The two part ways. The camera cuts to Luca’s confessional.

LucaEnmoreLvR Wow, I was completely blown away by Simon just then. Everything I thought I knew about the Otemanu tribe was turned on its head. Simon feels as if Maverick is trying to dodge responsibility and play both sides, and after hearing that Simon wasn’t in on a Nathaniel blindside, I’m inclined to agree. (deep sigh) Sheesh. I had no idea that he was playing that hard. I think he was exaggerating how he felt about Kris going home, which makes me feel a lot less trusting of him. I know I’ve made the right choice siding with Kelty.
Luca Enmore

Following Luca’s confessional, we are taken to Jensen as he stands around camp, looking nervous. Over his shoulder, he sees Nathaniel and Braidan hanging out, while Wilhelmina is coming back from the water well with Kelty and Maverick, all of them laughing. Simon and Luca shortly come back to camp as well, which makes Jensen even more worried.

Jensen: (sighs) I hate this tribe.

JensenPriceLvR This tribe plain sucks. It’s the absolute worst group of people I could be stuck with in terms of my survival for the game. Braidan, Kelty and Wilhelmina are so against me it’s not funny. I gave all the information I could to Simon, but even the Otemanus are talking with Wilhelmina’s group all the time. Without a doubt, they will have pushed hard for me and I’ve got nowhere to go. I feel like I’m destined to be a post-swap boot again and that pisses me off. What pisses me off even more is I’m gonna have to do some serious grovelling to the people in power, but it’s either that or be the first one kicked out of here, so I’m taking the lesser of two evils.
Jensen Price

Day 13- Vaitape[]

We are then taken to the Vaitape Tribe, and their morning begins with Kerri and Prudence sitting together, hiding in a secluded spot so that they’re not found.

Kerri: Alright, so, I’ve got a plan for our first target. We’ll need to go after Stanley.

Prudence: Sounds great to me. I saw you talking to Ruben. What did he tell you?

Kerri: Stanley’s part of a group of five like the one that did Kris in on Otemanu. They left Ruben and Forrest on the outs last time, so hopefully we can pressure them into taking him out.

Prudence: Oh, if there’s a group of five on that side, we need to split that up immediately.

Kerri: No doubt, especially if Stanley is in it. Screwing our tribe in challenges and being in a big group? <expletive> that. You ready to bull<expletive> people into thinking you’re fine with working with us just to get rid of Stanley?

Prudence: Are you going to speak to Lisette and Ashanda? We’ll need more than four to get the majority.

Kerri: Yeah, I better speak to them. We’ll need them against Josephine and Stanley, and Ruben’s pissing me off for some reason. He’s keen to get rid of Lisette, but wouldn’t even budge at the idea of Stanley first, so we’ll need to watch out for them.

Prudence: Surely Ruben wouldn’t be wanting to work with the people who just blindsided him.

Kerri: He wanted to work together but it seemed like he’d only do it if I took Lisette out first, which makes me feel like he’s gonna try and get the Vaitapes together.

Prudence: Dumb. Well, if he’s getting the Vaitapes together, that’s my excuse to work with you sorted. Let’s go.

Prudence and Kerri walk off together. The camera cuts to Prudence’s confessional.

PrudenceQuartermainLvR It frustrates me to no end that, even on a returning player season, I have to play around other people’s stupidity. If there’s an alliance of five that you’re not in, and has blindsided you before, why would you want to work with them? Luckily Kerri’s good at detecting lies, because we can work temporarily with Otemanu to get the numbers, then form our own four to get rid of Ashanda and Lisette, because that’s what you’re supposed to do. If people blindside you, you get them back. The one positive to this is that Kerri and I can hide our alliance for a little longer, because anyone who knows me should know I’d never willingly put myself in a bad position.
Prudence Quartermain

The camera picks up as Prudence and Kerri approach Ashanda and Lisette.

Lisette: Kerri! Prudence! How lovely to see you both again.

Kerri: Alright, let’s cut to the chase. I may have, perhaps, overreacted ever so slightly yesterday when I told you to shove it.

Ashanda: (laughs) And you wanna work with us now ‘cause we turned out to be right and something’s happening?

Kerri: Hold the <expletive> up, let’s not jump too far ahead of ourselves. I never said that. But something is happening and we can’t afford to let our guard down.

Lisette: What is it?

Kerri: I reckon the four Vaitapes are working together and they’re gonna take advantage of our split to pick us off one by one. I already ran this by Dunce before I came here just so I didn’t have this blow up in my face when I spoke to you, and she agrees. Ruben came to me yesterday and he was all about working together and threw out Lisette’s name. I said “Yeah, alright, what if we did Stanley first?” ‘Cause you know, Stanley was in a group of five that took Ruben’s ally out. But he wouldn’t have any of it.

Ashanda: Oh, wow, really?

Kerri: No matter what I said, “He’s weak in challenges”, “He’s got a bunch of friends on the other side and we’ve got none”, he kept insisting we keep Stanley around for some reason. So yeah, I reckon we’re running into a big problem and they were just trying to get me as number five.

Ashanda: So you came back to us even though you could have gone and been their fifth?

Kerri: And put myself in a <expletive> position? <expletive> that. What I reckon we do, is we say we’ve got four and we force Ruben’s hand. If he’s legit about working with me, he’ll flip with Forrest. If he’s not, he’ll tie it and we’re not gonna have four people who want to have redemption have their fate come down to a rock.

Lisette: This seems like a very convincing story, so I’d be willing to do this with you, as long as we could lock something down and you wouldn’t just throw us aside once you’ve got the numbers.

Kerri: Whatever. I’ll do what I have to do.

Ashanda: Wait up, I have to ask Prudence here, you’re on board with this?

Prudence: Yeah. Kerri told me about it so we could be on the same page before talking to you. I think we need to come together.

Ashanda: And you believe her.

Prudence: Why shouldn’t I? It makes a lot of sense, when she told me what happened. And yes she could easily be lying to me. But I personally think, better to have Kerri around for one more tribal and then get numbers after the fact, than send her home and leave myself at the mercy of the Vaitapes. I don’t like Kerri, sure, but I’m not stupid.

Kerri: Debatable.

Prudence: The point is, I want to work together so we don’t get screwed. Think about it, because it makes sense.

Lisette: We will.

Kerri and Prudence walk away.

Ashanda: Thoughts?

Lisette: It’s funny that those two are on the same page, but after what Kerri said, it makes sense. Prudence wouldn’t be dumb enough to put herself in a bad position.

Ashanda: And we’re not dumb enough either. Josephine offered us something with Stanley but if we take it and it’s just a cover for the Vaitapes working together, we’re gonna look like chumps. I don’t trust Kerri at all, but she might have a point.

Lisette: I hate this free agent thing Kerri’s got going on and I hate even more that it’s working for her.

Ashanda: You and me both.

The two laugh. The camera cuts to Ashanda’s confessional as she thinks things over.

AshandaJaneWashingtonLvR Alright, I’m definitely suspicious of Kerri and Prudence somehow being on the same page, but we’ll file that away for later. Lisette and I have to look out for ourselves here, and we’re in a weird spot as is. We’ve got a temporary thing with Josephine and Stanley, but what Kerri said makes me think she might be right about the Vaitapes working together. Stanley and I have a bit of beef ‘cause he feels like I controlled him in Grenada- and I did- so he might not want to work together. If Ruben is so against getting rid of Stanley first, that raises eyebrows too. I hate that Kerri is performing so well in this free agent role, though. Girl is good, and there's no way in hell she doesn't have plans after this. That makes me nervous as well.
Ashanda-Jane Washington

Following Ashanda’s confessional, we see Josephine and Stanley talking together.

Josephine: So, I have a great plan to run by you if you want to hear it.

Stanley: Lay it on me.

Josephine: Ashanda and Lisette were in the same spot on Otemanu as we were on Vaitape. They want to work with us and get rid of Kerri, who’s a huge free agent at this point. We could secure a majority by working with them. What do you think?

Stanley: Sounds good to me, but I’ve also been approached by Forrest to link back up with the Vaitapes. He apologised to me for everything the alliance did wrong and it sounded legit to me.

Josephine: Ruben told me he was trying to do the same thing and get Kerri on board for a majority. If Kerri’s a free agent I’m not sure what she’ll do in response. How do you feel about going with Lisette and Ashanda versus Ruben and Forrest?

Stanley: It’s good to keep our options open. I’d really like to explore things with the Vaitapes as well. It sounds to me that Otemanu is split so we could take advantage for the first Tribal at least. How does Ruben seem to you? Honest or not?

Josephine: Honest to me to begin with, but whether or not he’d stick with Vaitape for the long run, I can’t say yet.

Stanley: If it’s any consolation, I trust Forrest. I’d like to play it by ear and let both sides think we’re with them. We’ve done it before and we can do it again. Then at our first Tribal we can pick our side. Sound good?

Josephine: Sounds like a plan to me.

Josephine and Stanley part ways. The camera cuts to Stanley’s confessional.

StanleyMoriartyLvR Josephine is playing hard and I love it. She wants to work with Ashanda and Lisette, which could be an awesome idea. SInce Forrest seems particularly interested in linking with the Vaitapes, that gives us two options and we’re in the middle again. I don’t want to come in here being targeted, because it seems like I’m always an option for my challenge weakness, so the more bonds I have, the better. Josephine isn’t entirely sure about Ruben, so my next objective is to talk to him, see if we’re good, and smooth things over. I dunno where I’ll go after this first vote at this stage, but I’d love to have the option of working with him if he’d let me.
Stanley Moriarty

We next see Stanley and Ruben walking together.

Stanley: ‘Sup, man. Mind if I pick your brains for a bit?

Ruben: Sure, go ahead. I’m completely on board with working with the four Vaitapes and getting a majority, though. Did Forrest talk to you yesterday?

Stanley: Yeah. First piece of honest discussion I’ve had with anyone from that alliance since day one. (laughs) It seems like he really wants to work together.

Ruben: Hey! My apology to you was genuine!

Stanley: In my defense, the timing of it made it seem like sheer ass-kissing.

Ruben: Hey, I’ll wear that. But right now, I’m serious about wanting to work with you, and I’m glad that you can see Forrest is, too. You speak a lot with Josephine, right? How’s she feeling about all this?

At that moment, Prudence walks past them.

Prudence: Hello, boys.

Ruben: Hey.

Ruben and Stanley wait for Prudence to pass and get out of earshot. Prudence gets out of vision, looks back, and can see they’re still waiting. She then walks on.

Stanley: She gone?

Ruben: Yep.

Stanley: Okay, about Josephine. She vibed with the idea of working together but the only question mark she has is you. She’s not sure if you’re serious about going back with Vaitape after the Anastacia blindside and is wondering whether you’re playing her to survive the first Tribal....

Ruben: And then cut her throat? Ack. Well, I can understand why she’s feeling that way, but that’s not what I want to do at all. I really do want to stick with you guys ‘cause I think we had something going, but our crappy alliance ruined it. It’s so hard to get Josephine to think I’m serious. (laughs) If I play too passively, she hates it. If I try to play a little harder, she hates it. What gives?

Stanley: Fair enough. I’m not sure why she has gripes with you. But you’re definitely serious, right?

Ruben: Right, one hundred thousand percent. We’re literally guaranteed to lose Jensen, like, I’d bet my life on it. I’m not gonna go into a merge with just me and Forrest.

Stanley: Then I have the perfect opportunity for you. Lisette and Ashanda want to get rid of Kerri, so we’d have a group of six for the first vote, then we could turn it into a group of four with the Vaitapes after.

Ruben: It’s like you’re reading my mind, dude. Honestly, I tried to talk to Kerri to get her as our fifth and she was all for getting rid of Lisette, so I told her that you and I weren’t on the same page on Vaitape but we were cool now, and then she wouldn’t stop pushing your name.

Stanley: What? <expletive> that.

Ruben: Exactly! No matter what I said, she was like, “nah, we need to do Stanley first.” So I know she’s kinda suss, and she’s also suss of me. That’s not going to work well, so I’m more than down for getting rid of Kerri.

Stanley: Sounds amazing. Thanks, man. For the record, I’ve never heard you sound so genuine either. The only reason I ever really flipped on Vaitape was because you guys were hiding so much stuff from me, but if we can put the past in the past, I’m down to work together for the long haul.

Ruben: Me too, Stanley. We should have been doing stuff like this from day one. I’m sorry that I totally ruined it, but now we have a chance for a fresh start!

Stanley: For sure. I’m gonna go let Josephine know you’re legit.

Ruben: Wooo! And then the six of us can take Kerri out and pull the wool over the Otemanus’ eyes. (laughs)

Stanley and Ruben fist bump, then Stanley walks away. The camera cuts to Ruben’s confessional as he has a smile on his face.

RubenArkleyLvR Woohoo! Stanley talking to me could not have gone better. Not only is there a plan to get rid of Kerri, which I love, but he wants to work together! This is exactly what I wanted. It bothers me that Josephine didn’t trust that I was being legit, because I can never seem to get through to her, but I get it. The whole reason I want to work with the Vaitapes is because everyone would think I want to work with Otemanu. I want to play along with everyone’s expectations, make a big move with Josephine and Stanley later on and leave everyone in my dust. Yeah, they blindsided us, but they had their reasons. The main thing is they can stick to a plan, and that’s what makes them valuable allies to me.
Ruben Arkley

Following Ruben’s confessional, we see Stanley and Josephine talking together.

Stanley: Hey, so I talked with Ruben, and-

Before Stanley can continue, Ashanda and Lisette come over.

Lisette: Hey, y’all. Not interrupting anything, I hope?

Stanley: Not at all. What’s up?

Lisette: Just thought I’d tell you that Kerri’s come to us wanting to work together.

Josephine: After she told you all that she didn’t want to?

Lisette: Uh-huh. Apparently something big changed her mind. Something to do with Ruben not being willing to get rid of a Vaitape first. She thinks that Ruben’s trying to get the Vaitapes back together, and she wants to target Stanley.

Stanley: Ugh, of course she does.

Ashanda: Stanley, you got told about the four by Josephine, right?

Stanley: Yeah, I did. Seems like something I’d be into, as long as I’m not gonna be walked over again.

Ashanda: I thought you’d be hesitant about that. Listen, Grenada was Grenada, this is a whole different ball game and I know you and I have both changed. I’m not gonna walk all over you.

Stanley: Cool. Good to hear that. Are we gonna get rid of Kerri?

Lisette: Absolutely. She’s overstayed her welcome. It’s just a matter of getting the majority.

Josephine: Well, last I heard, Ruben wants to work with Kerri, so that might be difficult.

Stanley: Actually, no, I just talked to him. He doesn’t want anything to do with Kerri. She’s suspicious of him and vice versa, so he wants her gone.

Josephine: (taken aback) Oh, wow. That’s welcome news to me.

Lisette: Yeah, me too. Oh well, that solves that problem! I think we’d be able to get Prudence on board, as a backup fifth, if we wanted to.

Josephine: Sounds wonderful. Let’s do it.

The four of them head over to Prudence.

Ashanda: Yo, Prudence. You down to get rid of Kerri?

Prudence: Down as I’ll ever be. (laughs) You two aren’t buying the Stanley stuff, then?

Ashanda: Nah, we can get everyone on board for Kerri because she’s ruffling feathers. She’s suspicious of Ruben, so there’s two more votes she’s lost.

Stanley: Yeah, Ruben mentioned that.

Prudence: So where do I fit in with this? I’m not being dragged along again like I was with the Kris vote, am I?

Lisette: No, definitely not. We want to make a five with the group of us here, to ensure that we have majority. Kerri first, then we pick off Ruben and Forrest.

Prudence: Well, you might want to ask Stanley about that before you ask me. He was having a long conversation with Ruben when I walked past them before, and when I said hello, they stopped. Then they made sure I was gone before they started talking again. Seems suspicious to me.

Lisette: Hmmm… Stanley, what was going on?

Stanley: Well… we were literally just talking about getting rid of Kerri. Obviously we didn’t want you overhearing the conversation if you were working together.

Prudence: Did you even watch my season? As if I’d be working with Kerri. Honestly, I’m more concerned that you’re working with Ruben now.

Stanley: I am not working with Ruben. We can just get him to vote Kerri and then go ahead with this five. Frankly, I’m being targeted by Kerri, so I’m gonna get as many numbers as I can on my side. This five is where I want to be.

Prudence: Okay, then I have no problem and I’m on board. Thanks.

Prudence walks away. The camera cuts to her confessional as she smiles.

PrudenceQuartermainLvR The news that everyone is on board with getting rid of Kerri is a disaster to me. Of course I’ll go along with the numbers if they’re there, but Kerri is my only ally right now and I can’t even show it. So, I decided to manipulate the result in other ways. Kerri wants Stanley gone, and I poked enough holes in Stanley’s story that it should get the Otemanus doubting him at the very least. He spent too much time talking with Ruben and there’s no reason they should have kept the conversation quiet until I left. I think Kerri’s one hundred percent right about Ruben wanting to get the Vaitapes together and Stanley’s on board with it, so people should be scared.
Prudence Quartermain

When Prudence goes, Lisette turns to Stanley.

Lisette: So, what’s the deal with you and Ruben?

Stanley: I’m not going to work with him. He does want to work together, but I was only entertaining his thoughts. Josephine told me about this and I think it’s the best for us.

Lisette: Great, just as long as that’s all you’re doing. Ashanda and I are the ones who are sticking our necks out here by getting rid of Kerri first, and I’m not going to do that if you’re just going to go with the Vaitapes.

Stanley: That’s not going to happen. I wouldn’t do that to y’all.

Lisette: So, you only stopped speaking when Prudence walked past in case she relayed the information to Kerri?

Stanley: Exactly, just like she told all you guys. She’s weird and untrustworthy so I didn’t want her spreading anything.

Lisette: I’ll give you that/ She’s definitely a snake in the grass and has done nothing but show that through and through since she set foot on this beach.

Stanley: So why would I let her know anything, especially when it wasn’t true?

Lisette: Point taken.

Stanley walks away.

Josephine: I’ll see what he’s up to.

Ashanda: Please do.

Josephine follows Stanley. Ashanda turns to Lisette.

Ashanda: I hope Stanley’s good after all. The last thing we need is some wishy-washy half-assed player screwing up our plans.

Lisette: True. I’m not going to commit to anything if it’s just going to get us sent home.

LisetteMcDonaldLvR The last thing I want to do is trust Kerri and Prudence, for crying out loud. But Stanley is acting very strangely and I’m not going to commit myself to getting rid of Kerri if this Vaitape-strong thing is a reality. I worked too hard in this game to give the advantage to the other side and get sent home over it. I know that Kerri has already given my name to the other side, so the danger is high enough without me doing something stupid on top of it. I trust Josephine, but I need to be absolutely sure of Stanley’s loyalty before I commit to a four-person alliance.
Lisette McDonald

The camera picks up as Josephine catches up to Stanley.

Josephine: Okay, Stanley, what’s going on? Lisette and Ashanda are getting really suspicious.

Stanley: I was about to tell you before they came over, but Ruben’s serious about getting the Vaitapes together. He’s not sure why you don’t trust him, but he says it’d be dumb to go to the merge with just him and Forrest, and everyone would be expecting him to side with Otemanu. So, he’s thinking we get rid of Kerri, then blindside Lisette or Ashanda afterwards.

Josephine: So, is that what you want to do? Because tell me now and we can talk this over.

Stanley: Honestly, we should keep the option open. We shouldn’t commit one way or the other until Kerri is gone, so the target stays off us.

Josephine: You saw how Lisette and Ashanda acted when Prudence even raised the idea that Vaitape were together. They’re smart players, Stanley, and we can’t play the fence like we did on Vaitape.

Stanley: Well, I’d like to keep my options open because I’m sick of being the target and Kerri’s already coming after me. How about you do the thing you did with Anastacia and we blindside whoever?

StanleyMoriartyLvR I know that Josephine wants me to commit to a side right now but I can’t. I’m always the target around here because of challenges, or the secondary option at the very least, and I’m sick of it. You know when I wasn’t the target? The time both sides thought they had my vote. So why wouldn’t I keep my options open right now? I get that it’s frustrating. Like, honestly, I do. People want to plan their games too, but I can’t keep planning stuff if I’m backed into a corner because someone’s after me, and I don’t want to keep taking the hits. Sooner or later someone’s gonna get sick of it and send me home. (sighs) We just need to get rid of Kerri and make a decision after the fact. It’s easy enough.
Stanley Moriarty

Josephine: Yes, we can try that, but it still involves me knowing my side beforehand.

Stanley: Well, here’s what I think we should do. Everyone’s on board to vote for Kerri at this point, so let’s just do that and decide what we want to do after she goes home.

Josephine: Fair enough, as long as you know what you want to do by then and keep me in the loop.

Stanley: That I can do. Trust me, Josephine, when I’m being targeted constantly, I need to keep both doors open for as long as I can.

Josephine: I understand that. Just don’t forget there are other people relying on you, who need to make decisions for their own game, too.

Stanley: Got it. When Kerri goes home we’ll have a big talk about this and put it all out in the open.

Josephine: Thank you. That sounds great.

JosephineShabazzLvR Stanley is starting to seriously worry me as an ally and I’m questioning a lot of things. The way he’s talking, it’s like he wants to go with Ruben and Forrest, which would be fine if he’d tell me. But instead, he’s telling both sides he’s with them and he wants to keep all his options open, which you can’t do on a tribe like this because people will talk to each other. I understand completely that Stanley wants to keep the vote off of him because he’s the worst challenge performer in this game bar none, but I’m trying to play my game too. I can’t do that unless I know what Stanley’s doing, and if I can’t figure that out, then I’ll need to go my own way.
Josephine Shabazz

Day 14- Immunity Challenge[]

Courtland: Alright, y’all, let’s get this challenge underway!

The castaways walk in and stand on their mats, taking in the challenge setup behind them.

Braidan: Oh, God, it’s individual.

Courtland laughs as the castaways settle down.

Courtland: Yes, as y’all may have noticed, the challenge is for eight individuals. This is because you’re both goin’ to Tribal Council tonight! In the past, some of y’all have been saved by swaps, some of y’all have found it a nightmare, and some of y’all have managed to get on your feet with time. In a season with veteran players, however, you don’t get the luxury of time. Each tribe will have its members compete against each other for individual immunity. One person will be safe from each Tribal Council and one person will go home from each tribe.

Jensen rolls his eyes and Maverick looks nervous as Courtland removes the cloth to unveil two individual immunity necklaces. He then takes the immunity statue from Simon, who has it from Otemanu’s last win.

Stanley: (under his breath) Ugh, I hate this.

Courtland: The challenge today is pretty simple in concept, but more difficult in execution. You’re gonna start locked inside a cage, and you’ll have to navigate the handle through a maze on the door. When you’re out of the cage, you’ll race over to your puzzle station and complete a slide puzzle. The first person to do that wins individual immunity and is safe from their tribe’s Tribal Council. We’re gonna have Otemanu go first, then Vaitape. Likewise, Otemanu’s Tribal Council will be first. Otemanu, let’s draw for spots and get started.

The members of Otemanu are awaiting Courtland’s signal.

Courtland: For Otemanu’s immunity, Survivors ready? GO!

Challenge Summary:

  • This challenge is incredibly tightly contested. Every single one of the eight Otemanu members are in with a shot to win as they get out of the cage with a short amount of time separating first to last. The order in which they get out of the cage is: Maverick, Jensen, Kelty, Wilhelmina, Braidan, Simon, Luca, Nathaniel.
  • As all eight start on their puzzles, it is neck-and-neck as they start making progress. The three frontrunners are Maverick, Jensen and Kelty, with all three working fast.
  • Kelty starts to pick up the pace and overtakes Jensen. She closes in fast on Maverick as the two near completion of their puzzles. It comes down to the last couple of moves, and in the end, Kelty pips Maverick at the post.

Courtland: Immunity goes to Kelty in a photo finish!

Kelty: WOOOO! YES!

Jensen thumps the puzzle station in anger, while Maverick smiles and nods in slight disappointment as he realises Kelty has beaten him. He goes over to hug her.

Maverick: Hey, congratulations. What an adrenaline rush!

Kelty: You're telling me. My heart is still pounding.

Courtland: Alright, Kelty, you are safe from Tribal Council. Everyone from Otemanu take a seat and we'll get Vaitape up here. We'll draw for spots and go again.

Kelty is congratulated by the rest of her tribe as Otemanu takes a seat. The scene resets, and the members of Vaitape are waiting at the stations, which have been carefully reset to their original positions.

Courtland: Alright, Vaitape, for immunity, Survivors ready? GO!

Challenge Summary:

  • Unlike Otemanu's challenge, this one has only a few competitors. Lisette is the first out of her cage and gets quickly started on the puzzle. Behind her a short distance is Josephine, then Forrest and Prudence. The four start on their puzzle, although Lisette has a slight lead. Soon after they start, they're joined by Ashanda and Prudence, making up the rear. Kerri and Stanley fall out of the challenge quickly, eventually freeing themselves from the cage but being well out of it.
  • With time taken into account, it quickly becomes a two-horse race between Lisette and Josephine, with the latter trying to play catchup as they both have the hang of the puzzle. Josephine is unable to do this and Lisette ends up a clear winner.

Courtland: Immunity goes to Lisette!

Lisette is all smiles as she is applauded and congratulated by her tribe. Josephine gives her a hug, and Ashanda does too. The rest give her congratulatory smiles or handshakes. The scene resets and both tribes are now back on their mats.

Courtland: Kelty and Lisette, come get your necklaces!

Both tribes break into applause as the two women walk over. Courtland puts the necklace on Kelty first, then puts Vaitape's necklace on Lisette.

Courtland: Thanks to your impressive performances, the two of you are safe from your tribe's respective Tribal Councils. The rest of y'all don't have that luxury. Head out to your camps and decide over the afternoon who the first ones voted out of the new tribes are gonna be. Otemanu, I'll see y'all at Tribal first, then Vaitape afterwards.

The two tribes make their way back to their camps.

Day 14- Otemanu Pre-Tribal[]

Following the immunity challenge, the Otemanu Tribe heads back to camp ahead of their Tribal Council.

Wilhelmina: Damn, a double Tribal. This is exactly the point I went home in my season.

Kelty: Me, too. I’m so glad I’ve got immunity for it. (laughs)

Jensen: You’re so lucky. I nearly beat you for it.

Maverick: Yeah, me too. You’re so damn good at puzzles, Kelts. You always have been.

Kelty: Thanks! (smiles) It’s nice to not have to worry about tonight.

Kelty hangs her necklace up outside the shelter and the camera cuts to her confessional.

KeltyBarrettLvR My jaw dropped when they announced a double tribal today. As soon as I saw that immunity on offer, I had to win it, there was no option. Last time there was a double tribal, I went home, so when Courtland said I’d won, I was elated. Oh my God. I can’t even describe to you how amazing it feels to know that I’m safe tonight. The cherry on top is that I beat both Jensen and Maverick, so both plans should run smoothly tonight. (beams) I’m sorry, I just can’t believe there’s a double tribal and I’m safe.
Kelty Barrett

Soon, the entire tribe, sans Jensen, has gathered around to discuss the vote.

Maverick: Alright, y’all, are we locking down a Jensen plan? That’s the only name I’ve heard over the past few days.

Braidan: Pretty good reason, too. He’s off the rails. He’s the only one I’d want out.

Wilhelmina: Couldn’t agree more. He’s been against us since day one, so I’m more than happy to get him out first.

Simon: He doesn’t seem like he’d be of any value, so let’s do it.

Luca: If that’s what everybody wants, I’m more than happy.

Nathaniel: Then let’s do it.

As everyone confirms this plan, Maverick breaks off to go with Simon and Nathaniel.

Maverick: I feel like we haven’t talked for the entire two days we’ve been here. Are we still good?

Nathaniel: Of course we’re still good, Maverick. Sorry about not talking. We’ve just been worried about Luca and focusing all our energy on that.

Maverick: What’s the situation there?

Simon: Not good. Looks like he’s working with the other side.

Maverick: Ouch. But we’re all still good for Jensen?

Simon: Yes, definitely.

Maverick: Has there been any other names brought up? ‘Cause all I’ve heard for the past two days is his.

Nathaniel: No. No other names.

Maverick: For real? ‘Cause this just seems too easy. It’s making me nervous.

Nathaniel: Sometimes things are just easy. No one likes Jensen or trusts him, that’s as simple as it needs to be.

Maverick: Alright, guess I’ll put Jensen’s name down then.

The three of them part ways. The camera cuts to Maverick’s confessional as he looks nervous.

MaverickKnightstoneLvR I’m not comfortable at all. First red flag, this is the first conversation I’ve had with Simon and Nathaniel in two days. Second flag, Luca’s likely flipping to the other side, which means everyone’s gonna start going into defensive mode. Third flag, the guys are being really quiet and short with their answers. Jensen being the only name brought up in two days? Everyone just being on board with Jensen like that? Nah, it seems like it’s a cover, and I’ll bet Jensen’s being fed my name. I think the guys have turned on me, in which case, I’ve gotta go mad defense right now.
Maverick Knightstone

Following this, there is a transitional  nature shot and the camera picks up on Braidan, Kelty, Luca and Wilhelmina talking together.

Wilhelmina: So, Luca, are you definitely with us?

Luca: Yeah, for sure. I think that my best option is with you guys.

Kelty: You guys know about what happened with Maverick, right?

Wilhelmina: Yeah, the double cross and then trying to do damage control.

Kelty: He knows that Simon and Nathaniel have soured on him too.

Luca: Oh, wow, he does? He’s so smart.

Kelty: That’s why I’m wondering if we should turn the tide against Maverick.

Braidan: Really? I thought Jensen was our number one priority right now. I don’t like the guy at all and he has wanted our heads on a platter since we started.

Wilhelmina: That’s true. The only upside would be Maverick is the smarter player, and Jensen would obviously vote for Maverick if he thought it was the only way out.

Braidan: (laughs) Yeah, Jensen’s the worst player out there.

Luca: I think we could get a unanimous vote either way. I don’t think Nathaniel and Simon want to work with Maverick anymore, but from what I’ve heard, they don’t like Jensen either.

Braidan: Honestly, Maverick is smart and part of a tight trio, so maybe we should chuck him out and use Jensen’s vote for now. Jensen’s a disaster waiting to happen, though/

Wilhelmina:  Completely agreed. Maverick seems like the better option strategically but Jensen is just such a loose cannon it’s hard to tell. Tell you what, I’ll suss him out and see where his head’s at.

Braidan: Yeah, and if he seems weird about it, we can just send him home.

Luca: I’ll do whatever you guys want me to do. I don’t really trust either of them and would find reasons for sending them both home.

Wilhelmina: Seems great. We’ll come back later and figure something out.

The four of them confirm the idea, then part ways. The camera cuts to Luca’s confessional.

LucaEnmoreLvR For me, part one of the decision is easy tonight. I’m siding with Kelty’s alliance of three because I’m close to Kelty and I feel that it will be best for my game. Part two, deciding whether it should be Maverick or Jensen who goes home tonight, is more difficult. I think we’ll get a unanimous vote either way, but there are pros and cons to both going. From what I’ve heard about Jensen, he has a personal vendetta against Kelty’s alliance that could extend to me, which I don’t want. He also hasn’t spoken to many people. Maverick, on the other hand, is part of that tight trio that blindsided Kris, and he lied to me about wanting Nathaniel out. He’s dangerous in his own way and has his head screwed on. We’ll need to figure out which of the two of them is a higher priority.
Luca Enmore

In the next scene, Jensen is walking up to Wilhelmina.

Jensen: Can I say something to you and you hear me out?

Wilhelmina: Of course.

Jensen: I don’t like you and you don’t like me. That much is obvious, but I don’t want to go home. I was hoping for immunity today, and now that I don’t have it, I’m pretty sure I’m going home today.

Wilhelmina: That’s actually what I was coming to talk to you about. Where’s your head at right now?

Jensen: Right now? Anything that wouldn’t get me sent home.

Wilhelmina: I’m going to need more than that.

Jensen: (deep sigh) I hate that I have to even ask you to spare me, but if you did, then we could work something out. I’m pretty sure Ruben and Forrest are screwed, so boom, there goes my only two allies.

Wilhelmina: You’d understand why it would be difficult for me to trust you at your word, right?

Jensen: Duh. For the same reasons I’d find it difficult to trust you, but I’m reaching out for anything right now, and since you’re in power, you’re the one I have to go to. You got anything for me or not?

Wilhelmina: Vote for Maverick. That’s the other name being tossed around right now.

Jensen: Maverick. Cool.

Jensen starts to walk away.

Wilhelmina: Oh, and Jensen?

Jensen stops.

Jensen: Yeah?

Wilhelmina: If you survive, I expect the favour to be fully repaid.

Jensen: Got it.

Jensen starts to walk away again. The camera cuts to his confessional as he shakes his head.

JensenPriceLvR If you think I enjoyed grovelling to Wilhelmina, get your head checked. I hated it. But as I suspected, my name is being thrown out, so I’ve got no option. As I told her, I’m sure that Ruben and Forrest are screwed, so as much as I want to get rid of some of Wilhelmina’s alliance, I’ve got nowhere else to jump. Wilhelmina knows it, too. She told me that if I survive she expects the favour to be repaid. (laughs) <expletive> you, Wilhelmina, for starters. But if I do survive here and Wilhelmina’s giving me this branch, maybe I’d jump on board with her. Maybe. I still want to win at the end of the day.
Jensen Price

The camera then focuses on Wilhelmina as she is smirking.

WilhelminaAustinLvR Jensen has no choice but to vote Maverick, so we’ve got five automatically, whichever way we go. I told Jensen outright that he’d better repay the favour if he survives tonight. I know that he’s a loose cannon, but if- and that’s a very strong if- I can take him at his word, he could be a good card to have in my back pocket. Maverick is definitely someone who has a good head on his shoulders and is well-connected, two things Jensen isn’t. If I can’t trust Jensen, then he’s going home, but everyone needs tricks up their sleeve.
Wilhelmina Austin

Following Wilhelmina’s confessional, we see the four original Otemanus- Luca, Maverick, Nathaniel and Simon- as they discuss things.

Simon: So, Luca, where’s your head at tonight?

Luca: I see no reason to lie to you, so, I’m going to be siding with Wilhelmina’s group. I know you guys have all said that you’ll be with me, but I can’t overlook the fact that you blindsided me in the first place.

Maverick: Thanks for letting us know, man. It’s still Jensen, right?

Luca: Yeah, it still is. Anyway, I just thought I would give you all the heads up.

Luca walks away.

Maverick: Well, that sucks. I guess we’re on the bottom, then.

Simon: Yep. We’re going to have to put our heads down.

Maverick: I’m off to talk to some people about getting together.

Simon: Nice. Let us know how it goes.

Maverick: I will.

Maverick walks away. Nathaniel turns to Simon.Following Wilhelmina’s confessional, we see the four original Otemanus- Luca, Maverick, Nathaniel and Simon- as they discuss things.

Nathaniel: Well, there goes that.

Simon: We’re officially on the bottom.

Nathaniel: Not necessarily. Braidan approached me before and he wants to turn on Wilhelmina’s group, so if we play our cards right and go with the right fourth, we should be back on top.

Simon: So, you’d be willing to work with Maverick?

Nathaniel: I don’t trust him, but I don’t trust Jensen either. If we can get a majority four with Maverick rather than him, I’m all for it. Let’s talk to Braidan and see what we can do.

Nathaniel and Simon go to find Braidan. The camera cuts to Nathaniel’s confessional.

NathanielRobertsLvR Luca told us outright that he’s flipping to Kelty’s side, which means that Simon and I are on the bottom. Luckily we have an ace up our sleeves, which is Braidan. He and I got something together yesterday, so I know he wants to flip. Our priority now shifts to who is going to be the most reliable fourth for us to overthrow the other group. I don’t trust Maverick at all, but I am willing to work with him if it’ll get me out of this hole. We need to speak to Braidan ASAP and see what he thinks, because he’ll be more in the know than us.
Nathaniel Roberts

We next see Nathaniel and Simon talking to Braidan.

Nathaniel: Braidan, we need to talk to you.

Braidan: What’s up?

Nathaniel: Luca’s for sure flipping to Kelty’s side, but you want to flip too, right?

Braidan: Yeah. We can get a unanimous vote this time, but four next, right?

Nathaniel: Read our minds. What’s the situation like over there?

Braidan: Well… I think Kelty is scared of Maverick. Wilhelmina went to talk to Jensen and see what he was doing. Maybe they want to go with him. I don’t trust either of those guys.

Simon: Do you think it would be wiser for us to have Maverick or Jensen as our fourth to overthrow?

Braidan: I have no idea what Jensen’s going to do. He had a vendetta against Kelty big time. What’s the deal with Maverick?

Simon: We’ve been feeding to Luca that he was the one behind the hit on Nathaniel. Luca doesn’t trust Maverick at all.

Braidan: Hmmm, that could go one of two ways. EIther Luca manages to get Maverick on his side with that info, or Maverick goes against Luca. Luca gave all the information about it to Kelty, anyway.

SImon: Jensen told me immediately about your alliance. I don’t know if he’d change overnight if Wilhelmina saved him?

Braidan: I’ll probably hear more about it, but I’ll swing things a certain way if you need me to. I'll let you know what’s going on, because I’m pretty sure who the best person is for us.

Simon: We’ll leave it in your capable hands.

Braidan parts ways with them. The camera cuts to his confessional.

BraidanNashLvR Luca being on our side means he’s another notch in Kelty and Wilhelmina’s belts. I know they need to be taken out, so working with Simon and Nathaniel is in my best interest. Jensen and Maverick both have major dirt on them that means they’re untrustworthy, but they’re scrambling to survive. I think we could swing either one over to us, but when I weigh everything up, there’s one clear person who would be most likely to work with us, so that’s the guy I’m gonna work hardest to save.
Braidan Nash

Following Braidan’s confessional, we see him back with Wilhelmina, Luca and Kelty.

Braidan: How’d things with Jensen go?

Wilhelmina: I told him to vote for Maverick. He doesn’t think he’s got anywhere to go. I don’t trust him.

Before the conversation can continue, Maverick approaches them.

Maverick: Hey, y’all. I have a problem.

Luca: What’s up, Maverick?

Maverick: I’m pretty sure that my name’s the one being thrown around tonight. Nathaniel and Simon have completely stopped talking to me. They’re only feeding me Jensen, but I find it impossible to believe that his is the only name that has come up in the last few days.

Braidan: So, are you offering something with us?

Maverick: I can’t trust those guys anymore, clearly, so if you’re willing to have me, I’d join a five against them. Nathaniel was the one who pushed the blindside against Kris and I didn’t want to do it, so I know that he and Simon are the ones tight with each other. I’d happily work with y’all and we can link up with some friends at the merge.

Luca: Nathaniel pushed that?

Maverick: Yeah, man. I already told you. I was willing to get rid of Nathaniel before the swap hit and now that it has, he wants nothing to do with me. Consider me your fifth if y’all want me. I genuinely think Jensen should go home and that’s whose name I’ll put down. So, if I survive, I’m on your side.

Maverick walks away. The camera cuts to his confessional.

MaverickKnightstoneLvR I’m not dumb. I know me going home tonight is a huge possibility because Simon and Nathaniel have practically stopped talking to me. I don’t trust those guys anymore so I needed to do what was best for me and make a five with Kelty’s alliance. Kelty and I already talked about putting the past behind us. I hope that means she’ll want to work with me. If I were Luca, I wouldn’t wanna work with Nathaniel, either. (sighs) I don’t know where it went wrong with them, but I need to be thrown this lifeline. I won’t be surprised if it’s my torch being snuffed tonight.
Maverick Knightstone

Braidan: Well, he knows he’s on the chopping block.

Kelty: I told you guys he’s smart.

Luca: I don’t know what to think about the whole Kris blindside. I’m hearing he was the mastermind, then Nathaniel was the mastermind. I don’t trust either of them, but I do think Maverick is more involved than he’s letting on.

Wilhelmina: I have no idea what Jensen would do if we kept him. Do we take the risk and send Maverick home?

Braidan: I know what I want.

Kelty: Me, too.

Luca: You guys decide. You have far more to lose than I do.

The four of them discuss. The camera cuts to Kelty’s confessional.

KeltyBarrettLvR Tonight we basically have free pick of whether to send Jensen home. The group came to a decision pretty quickly. We ran over the trustworthiness of both of them, and who we’d be better off relying upon in the future. Maverick’s offer to work with us seemed legitimate on his part. We need to do everything we can to make sure we’re protected not just tonight, but in the future on this tribe and for the merge. When we talked everything out, it was clear to us who should go. Whether that ends up unanimous or not, we’ll just have to wait and see.
Kelty Barrett

As the castaways are preparing themselves for Tribal Council, the camera focuses on Jensen, stuffing things in his bag until it’s full to the brim.

JensenPriceLvR I’m pretty sure I’m going home tonight, which pisses me off big time. Wilhelmina is literally the only person to talk to me in the last couple of days while everyone else has been talking across alliances. Seems like a natural conclusion to me. I told Simon all about what their side was up to and he ignored it, while Wilhelmina’s side is just gonna continue to run rings around them. I wanted them gone a long time ago and people didn’t listen to me. Now I know how Daremyth felt the whole time in Con Dao. I hate everyone yet I need to work with them to survive. (laughs) Aaaaargh. Let’s hope I’m not going home tonight.
Jensen Price

The sun sets as the castaways head to Tribal Council.

Tribal Council- Otemanu[]

The castaways walk into Tribal Council and sit down.

Courtland: Legacies and Redemption together at last! Welcome to Tribal Council, Otemanu. Wilhelmina, have you noticed different dynamics between people who came from different original tribes?

Wilhelmina: I know that people are a lot more willing to play the game on this tribe, so things have gotten harder and more fun here.

Courtland: Jensen, with everyone wantin’ to play the game, are people lookin’ at stickin’ to Tribal lines or branchin’ out?

Jensen: (laughs) Oh my God. It’s no secret to anyone that I haven’t gotten along with my fellow Vaitapes at all. They blindsided me right before the merge, so why would I want to stick with them? We’re definitely branching out, although it’s hard when no one talks to you.

Courtland: Wow, Luca, that was a bold statement from Jensen. How much does everyone know about what went on during the original tribe split?

Luca: I think we know just as much about the other original tribe as the people who were on it. Same with me, I’ve made no secret of the fact that I was blindsided in the same way as Jensen when a group on the original Otemanu blindsided Kris. I’ve been looking elsewhere. I think everyone has been crossing tribal lines.

Courtland: Braidan, it’s starting to sound more and more like an individual game now. Is that the case?

Braidan: One hundred percent. The vote tonight is gonna be key for the next vote, which will be key for the vote after that, and so on. People are already thinking to the merge and setting things up. Once we hit the merge, it’s gonna get even harder, so we can’t take the easy way out, even if one appears.

Courtland: Simon, with that in mind, how important is it to get this vote right?

Simon: It’s so important. As Braidan said, it sets us up for practically every vote until the merge. You need to pick people you can rely upon to get yourself ahead, and people who are willing to make moves. People are talking to anyone they can to survive. If you make one bad decision here, then coming back is going to be difficult.

Courtland: Nathaniel, over the past fourteen days, I’ve heard a lot of talk about past reputations. With Legacies and Redemption now mixed together, do you think past reputations are going to come into play tonight?

Nathaniel: No, I don’t think so at all. We’ve played long enough into this game that people are forming their opinions based around this game. We know how everyone is playing now.

Maverick starts shaking his head.

Courtland: Maverick, you disagree?

Maverick: Yeah. Things have gotten quiet since I turned up here and I think people are struggling to look past the old games even now. So, I think reputations are a big part of it.

Courtland: You sound like you think you’re going home.

Maverick: I wouldn’t be surprised if that were the case.

Courtland: Does anyone else think they’re goin’ home tonight?

Jensen raises his hand quickly, high in the air.

Courtland: Wilhelmina, here we have two people who are convinced they’re goin’ home. How worried does that make you?

Wilhelmina: In an ideal situation, you’d want everyone to think they’re safe. Having people who think they’re going home is a dangerous variable because they’ll do anything they think is necessary to survive. It’s hard to take their words at face value. One person like that is bad enough, two is crazy.

Courtland: Kelty, how has it felt to have immunity through all this?

Kelty: On a personal note, I went home at the last Double Tribal Council. (laughs) So in that respect, it feels fantastic. But in the game, it makes me more confident that I can make the move I need to make without fear of it biting me. I’m glad that I haven’t been able to be caught in the crossfire. Of course, that doesn’t change how important the decision is for me tonight, and I’m confident I’ve made the right one.

Courtland: With that, let’s get to the vote. Kelty, you always have the option of givin’ your necklace up, but I doubt you’ll do that.

Kelty: Absolutely not.

Courtland: Then Kelty, you’ve made it to the next cycle. Everyone else is vulnerable and we’ll see who’s really goin’ home tonight. Braidan, wanna get us started?

Braidan nods and gets up. He goes to cast his vote, which is not shown. Next is Nathaniel, then Jensen. Jensen’s vote for Maverick is revealed.

JensenPriceLvR (voting for Maverick) I’m sure you agree that everyone else sucks. I’m almost positive I’m going home tonight. Here’s a reminder, if you decide you want to stick with anyone here, they threw me your name.
Jensen

Up next to vote is Simon, whose vote is not revealed. He is followed by Wilhelmina, then Kelty. Maverick is up next and his vote for Jensen is revealed.

MaverickKnightstoneLvR (voting for Jensen) I think my time is up, man. You can’t trust anyone on this tribe. If you survive, burn them all.
Maverick

The last person to vote is Luca. He goes up to vote with a smile on his face. As he begins to write, the camera fades away and he is next shown returning to his seat.

Courtland: I’ll get the votes.

Courtland leaves and returns a short time later with the urn.

Courtland: The votes are locked. The person with the most needs to say their goodbyes and leave immediately. Let’s get started.

First vote...

MAVERICK. (1-0)

Maverick nods and chuckles.

JENSEN. (1-1)

Jensen folds his arms and rolls his eyes.

MAVERICK. (2-1)

Maverick sighs.

MAVERICK. That's three for Maverick, one for Jensen. (3-1)

Maverick: And four, and five, and six, and seven...

MAVERICK. That's four for Maverick. (4-1)

Maverick is already starting to gather his things, as the camera cuts to Jensen's incredulous smile.

Fifth person voted out of the game is...

MAVERICK.

Five is enough, time to grab your torch.

Braidan quickly pumps his fist. Wilhelmina is smiling too, as Jensen's grin gets wider. Maverick has already collected his stuff and stands up immediately.

Maverick: Y'all need to make it way less obvious when you're trying to get rid of someone. Jensen, don't forget where you stand, man.

Jensen: I won't!

Simon and Nathaniel say very little as Maverick gathers his torch and walks over to Courtland. He puts the torch in front of him.

Courtland: Maverick, the tribe has spoken.

Maverick: Should have done this two days ago and saved everyone the time, man.

Courtland snuffs Maverick's torch.

Courtland: It's time to go. Head out.

Maverick turns around to the group.

Maverick: Little more information before I go...

The castaways look surprised, turning their attention to Maverick immediately.

Maverick: Luca, man, you got led astray. Nathaniel was the one who wanted the blindside on Kris so bad. I was dead serious about what I told you, and Simon was the one whose vote pushed us into doing it. I never wanted Kris to go, not once. Simon, Nathaniel, have fun with that bullet coming your way. Kelty, Wilhelmina, Braidan, remember who would have been on your side, because people will come for you. Jensen, trust no one. Been a pleasure, y'all. You thought I was the Mavolution, so there's a truth bomb.

Maverick, now with a smile on his face, turns and walks out, leaving the rest of the tribe to digest everything he just said.

Courtland: Well, Maverick may have left the game just now, but I'm pretty sure his words are going to have an effect on this tribe for some time to come. One thing he said was right, though: if y'all are gonna get further in the game, you need to make it way less obvious. Two people knew they were on the outs tonight and that's never a good sign. Grab your stuff and head out. I'll see y'all soon.

The seven remaining members of Otemanu leave.

KeltyBarrettLvR (voting for Maverick) No matter whether you were playing as The Mavolution or yourself, you can't hide the fact you're a smart, perceptive and dangerous player. You need to go ASAP.
Kelty

LucaEnmoreLvR (voting for Maverick) The honest truth is I don't trust you or Nathaniel. There's no way of knowing what's lip service and what's the truth, so I'm going with my head here.

Final Words- Otemanu[]

MaverickKnightstoneLvR I've known this was coming for days. Simon and Nathaniel stopped talking to me, so they must have been pinning the whole situation on me and everyone believed it. I let some things go before I left, because the Mavolution was the reason I went home, so he was gonna rear his head and stir the pot a little. I should've really put my foot down about keeping Kris and I would have if I knew it was gonna result in this. There's a lot of shoulda, woulda, coulda in this game for me. Now it's over and I can't wait to see what happens on that tribe next.

Story, Part 2[]

Day 14- Vaitape Pre-Tribal[]

Following their immunity challenge, the Vaitape members return to camp ahead of Tribal Council.

Ashanda: Tribal Council right after the swap. Damn, damn, dammit.

Kerri: At least Liz doesn’t have to worry about it. She’s got immunity. Congratulations, by the way.

Josephine: Yeah, well done. You killed it.

Lisette: Thanks so much. I’m really happy to have won today.

Lisette hangs her necklace up outside the shelter. She walks over to Ashanda.

Lisette: Kerri?

Ashanda: If we’ve got Stanley and Josephine.

As the group begins to break off, Lisette and Ashanda quickly catch up to Josephine and Stanley.

Lisette: We’ve got you tonight, don’t we?

Josephine: Yes.

Stanley: Yeah, every night after that, too.

Lisette: Kerri tonight?

Stanley: Great. I wanted her gone anyway.

Lisette: Perfect. Will you let Vaitapes know? We should keep apart.

Stanley: Will do.

Stanley and Josephine walk off. Lisette smiles as the camera cuts to her confessional.

LisetteMcDonaldLvR I won the individual immunity today for my tribe and it feels amazing. This is now the fourth time I’ve won immunity over my playing career, and that alone is a significant achievement. The big hope for tonight is that we’ve got Stanley and Josephine and we can organise a clean, unanimous hit on Kerri. We’ve got a great thing going with Josephine, and if we need to use Prudence for a fourth vote instead of Stanley, I’m sure we’ll be able to do it. I’ve got my eye on him. Prudence mentioning that he talked with Ruben and his deflections of it are really raising some red flags. Kerri is a free agent, though, and she can easily string votes together with the promise of being a number, and that’s far more dangerous. That’s my priority before anything else.
Lisette McDonald

The camera then transitions to Kerri as she goes around trying to gather her own numbers. She first walks up to Prudence.

Kerri: I’m doing Stanley tonight. We have to <expletive> those Vaitapes off and he’s piss-weak anyway. Did you see how <expletive> he was in that challenge? Last one out. And he’s crap in everything else, too.

Prudence: Completely agreed on all counts. I’m on board.

Kerri: I’ll try and corner everyone into doing it so we can get a unanimous vote.

Prudence: Sounds perfect. I’ve got Ashanda and Lisette thinking that the Vaitapes are getting together anyway.

Kerri: Well you finally turned out good for something. Seeya. (laughs)

Kerri walks up to Ashanda.

Kerri: I’m pulling numbers for Stanley. If you want to get rid of a Vaitape, we can do him. He sucks at challenges and he’s the most expendable. We can probably call the other Vaitapes’ bluffs and see if they’ll turn on him. You good with that?

Ashanda: Good with me. You’re gonna get a unanimous boot, huh?

Kerri: Try for it. Probably not Josephine because she’s with him, but it’s me or Stanley, I’m sure of it, so I’ve got nothing to lose. We can get one up on Vaitape and prevent them from going after you.

Ashanda: Alright, I’ll think it over.

Kerri walks on, with the camera cutting to her confessional.

KerriThompsonLvR I’d bet my life on it being me or Stanley tonight, so I need to get the numbers to send him home. Lucky for me, Stanley’s done most of the work in that regard for me: he’s <expletive> at challenges and Dunce is getting people thinking that Stanley’s working with Vaitape. Stanley turned on two Vaitapes before and they told me that, so I can call their bluffs and get a unanimous vote. I’m not gonna rest until Stan’s torch has gone out.
Kerri Thompson

We then see Kerri making her way over to Forrest and Ruben.

Kerri: Alright, are you guys with me or not?

Ruben: Yeah, like I said, we were on the bottom of our tribe as well.

Kerri: We can’t do Lisette anymore because she won immunity, so I reckon we’ve gotta do Stanley.

Forrest: Not Ashanda?

Kerri: No, bugger that. Stanley’s crap in challenges and he’s trying to punch above his weight with how hard he’s playing.

Forrest: That’s a fair assessment, but it’s funny that you’re willing to work with Lisette and Ashanda now.

Kerri: (rolls eyes) I’m not doing this stalemate again. I think it’s funny that you guys aren’t budging on Stanley when we’ve already exchanged information on what happened over on our tribes. I want Lisette out, but we can’t get her tonight. So let’s bury whatever <expletive> this is, come together and vote Stanley, and then get rid of Lisette next time, alright? The more you guys stuff around on a Stanley vote the more people are gonna think the Vaitapes are coming together. Is it something we can agree on?

Ruben: Yeah, you’re right. We’re not with Stanley or Josephine, and you’re not with Lisette and Ashanda, so there’s no problem getting rid of Stanley first.

Kerri: Thank you. Stan first, Lisette next. Done. Is the hatchet buried now? We need to start working together if we’re going to get control.

Ruben: All gone.

Kerri walks off. Forrest and Ruben turn to each other and start talking.

Forrest: What the hell was that?

Ruben: She’s turned hard since I last talked to her.

Forrest: What did you say to her?

Ruben: I gave her as much information as she gave me. She was really keen to turn on Lisette, then when I suggested Lisette first, she was a bit weird about it. She wanted Stanley first, but I thought she’d be talked around.

Forrest: But now she is set on Stanley. She’s on to us about the Vaitape connection, and she just told us that people are going to think we are, anyway.

Ruben: She needs to go tonight if she’s gonna start turning people against us.

Forrest: One hundred percent. The sooner we get rid of her, the better.

ForrestStephensonLvR Ruben filled me in on everything that happened with Kerri, from their talk until now. Kerri went from really wanting Lisette out, to not even considering Ashanda when we offered that alternative and being hellbent on Stanley going home. Something had to have seriously changed her mind, and we know that she’s onto the Vaitapes about working together. She’s trying to break that up and it shows how smart a player she is. I don’t want her hanging around. She needs to go ASAP.
Forrest Stephenson

Next, we see Ruben and Forrest joined by Stanley and Josephine.

Stanley: Okay, guys, I think we can get together and vote Kerri out.

Josephine: She’s dangerous and needs to go home. Lisette and Ashanda want to get rid of her too.

Stanley: Exactly, so we should have no trouble getting rid of her.

Forrest: Well that’s good, because she’s come to us desperate to get rid of you, and she’s pushing hard for it.

Stanley: Ugh, here we go. She’s saying that the Vaitapes are gonna work together, right?

Ruben: Exactly, she’s onto us.

Stanley: Yeah, ‘cause she’s getting into Prudence’s head as well. Prudence called me out in front of Ashanda and Lisette, because she walked past you and I talking, Ruben, and she’s convinced that we’re together. Lisette and Ashanda looked at me all weird so they might be buying it.

Forrest: She’s saying you’re the worst at challenges, too. She promised to work with us if we got rid of you, but I don’t want to do that.

Stanley: Uuuugh. With that, plus the whole Vaitape thing, she’ll push Lisette and Ashanda to a tie vote and we’ll have to all stick together and go to rocks.

Ruben: Yoof. Rocks.

Josephine: I want to avoid rocks at all costs.

Stanley: We all do. We didn’t come here to be taken out by a rock. That’s it, we’re changing the vote.

Ruben: Woah, what? What are we gonna do?

Stanley: Get five. If we offer up Kerri a Prudence vote in exchange for none of us going home, we can work with her and get a majority. No one likes Prudence or trusts her. She’s a troublemaker and a rabble-rouser, and Kerri won’t want to risk rocks either. Let’s do it.

Forrest: Sure, I’m down for that.

Ruben: Well, I’m more concerned about Kerri and if you try and change the vote, it’s just gonna feed her theory more.

Stanley: It’s better than going to a tie and someone having to budge. None of them would go to rocks for Prudence and I want to keep myself out of danger. Come on Josephine, you go tell Ashanda and Lisette we’re changing things up. I’ll go talk to Kerri.

Josephine: Alright.

The two of them walk off. As they get out of view of Ruben and Forrest, Josephine corners Stanley.

Josephine: What’s your deal here?

Stanley: My deal is that my name is being thrown around, Kerri and Prudence are trying to get the Otemanus together. Prudence already tried to throw me under the bus, and I’m pretty sure Kerri’s only with her because she thinks the Vaitapes are together. She wouldn’t go to rocks for Prudence, so let’s change it up.

Josephine: Aren’t you worried that this will make them think, even more, that we’re trying to get Vaitape together?

Stanley: No? It’s about saving my own ass. They don’t trust Prudence, they know that she’s trying to get in between us. Why should it matter whether it’s Prudence or Kerri? I can talk to Kerri and swing her vote as well, and we can figure something out.

Josephine: Fine, I’ll try. But you need to tell me what you plan to do next vote, and don’t give me any of that floating between the middle crap. If you want to change the vote to Prudence, give me an alliance that we’re working with.

Stanley: Fine. Truthfully, I trust Ruben and Forrest more because I think they’re going to lose Jensen and have nowhere else to go, so we should team up with them.

Josephine: So you want to team up with Vaitape. Got it.

Stanley: You gonna go tell Ashanda and Lisette?

Josephine: Sure, but they’re smart. I can’t guarantee they won’t try and flip something.

Stanley: Just push your luck, okay? I need my name off the block.

Josephine and Stanley split. Josephine shakes her head.

JosephineShabazzLvR I finally got a straight answer out of Stanley, and he wants to work with Vaitape. Now it’s up to me to try and convince Ashanda and Lisette that we’re changing the vote and still want to work with them. I have no idea how I’m going to do that, because suspicion is already on him, and those two women are smart and cutthroat. If I want to work with Stanley, I have to work with Vaitape. We’ll see where that leads. I need to be confident in who I work with going forward. I understand that Stanley doesn’t want his name out there, but we had solid numbers for Kerri and now that’s going to be in danger of not happening. Everyone’s name gets thrown out at some point. Can I trust him if this is how he’s reacting?
Josephine Shabazz

The camera then changes focus to Stanley, who wears a determined look on his face as he marches off to find Kerri.

StanleyMoriartyLvR When Forrest and Ruben told me Kerri was pushing hard for me to go home, I went into defense mode. She, combined with Prudence spreading stuff around, is going to be dangerous and I didn’t want to risk a tied vote. I’m not afraid to change the vote to Prudence, because I think we can work something out with Kerri, since she doesn’t want to go home either. I’ll work with Vaitape because no one there is going to write my name down. I’m so sick of being targeted all the time. My speciality is guitars and bartending. I’m a skinny guy, so my fitness isn’t the greatest. I’m not like those people who can bring it home every challenge and I need to surround myself with people who aren’t gonna constantly throw my name out. Off Prudence goes.
Stanley Moriarty

We see Stanley as he’s walking and talking to Kerri.

Stanley: Okay, so we’re both targeting each other tonight. But I don’t want to go home, and neither do you, right?

Kerri: ‘Course not.

Stanley: What would it take for you and me to vote together and get rid of Prudence?

Kerri: Nothing. I’d do it in a heartbeat.

Stanley: Like, tonight?

Kerri: Tonight, tomorrow, a week ago, two weeks ago, whenever somebody asked me to. I already tried twice and no one listened.

Stanley: Third time’s the charm, right? (laughs)

Kerri: Oh hell yeah, if we’ve actually got the numbers for it. Who’s on board? And don’t just bloody say the Vaitapes because I’ve been over this a million <expletive> times with them. I’m not just jumping if you guys are gonna stick together.

Stanley: No, that’s the best part. Lisette and Ashanda have been saying the whole time that they don’t like Prudence. They can get rid of her too, over you, so it’ll be everyone.

Kerri: Alright, good so far. What about after that?

Stanley: Well, after that, we do whatever you want. You can hold the power. I was only going after you because people threw me your name.

Kerri: I went after you ‘cause you were my next best option.

Stanley: Then let’s put it aside and finally get Prudence out!

Kerri: Alright, let’s.

The two of them confirm things, before parting ways. Kerri starts laughing.

KerriThompsonLvR Alright, you’re gonna call me crazy, but I’ve been served the opportunity to vote Dunce out on a silver platter, and I’m not gonna take it. Stanley’s playing like a <expletive> Countdown essentials brand Dunce. (laughs) He’s trying to save himself but he’s making it worse.  No matter what options are presented to me, it always involves jumping to a group of four Vaitapes, and I’m not doing that. As far as I’m concerned, my vote is staying on Stanley. I reckon Lisette and Ashanda are gonna put his name down too. If Vaitape are confident enough to change the vote, then they’re together, so we’re deadlocked at 4-4. I’m not scared of a pebble and nobody else should be, even if it is for Dunce’s sake. I’ll die before I put myself in a <expletive> position.
Kerri Thompson

Following Kerri’s confessional, we see Josephine talking to Ashanda and Lisette after a transitional nature shot.

Josephine: I have some bad news and you’re probably not going to like it.

Lisette: Oh, no, what’s going on?

Josephine: Stanley doesn’t want to be targeted. He’s worried that you guys are going to send him home because of Prudence’s meddling, so he’s trying to cut a deal with Kerri to get himself to stay longer, saying he’ll vote Prudence if she does, and that we’ll all vote Prudence.

Ashanda: Hold up, what? What’s he telling the Vaitapes?

Josephine: He’s telling the Vaitapes that they should vote for Prudence too.

Ashanda: No way, what was the problem with voting Kerri? If he’s telling the Vaitapes that makes me think y’all are working together.

Lisette: No, if he’s going to change it, send him home. I’m not dealing with all this chopping and changing and Kerri business. He’s trying to play both sides and I don’t trust that.

Ashanda: Get him out of here. Kerri’s obviously gonna vote Stanley ‘cause she’s been wanting to send a Vaitape home for days, and Prudence will vote with us if it’s her ass on the line. With you, we’ve got five.

Josephine: And the alliance of four would be…

Lisette: See, that’s where we run into the problem. I don’t trust Prudence, but it would have to be her. I still want Kerri to go home.

Josephine: Alright. I’m confused about Stanley, too. I thought we were solid, but he sprung this on us without even talking to us.

Ashanda: He wasn’t even gonna go home, but now it’s even more obvious that he’s not with us. He’s in no position to be calling any sorts of shots like that when he’s so bad at challenges. Like, the only thing he’s got is trust.

Lisette: Agreed. Come with us, we’ll generate a new four and get rid of Kerri next time.

Josephine: Sounds like a plan. Oh, Stanley, I warned you about this…

Ashanda: He’s gonna vote himself out of the game.

Josephine nods and walks away. The camera focuses on Ashanda as she shakes her head.

AshandaJaneWashingtonLvR In one fell swoop, Stanley goes from getting maybe one vote, to hopefully five of them. I don’t know what he was thinking, because it was in the back of our minds that Vaitape might be working together, and now he’s just confirmed it. He’s trying to save himself, but it still involves getting rid of someone from Otemanu, which makes me think Kerri’s right. If he’d said “screw this, let’s get rid of Ruben” then I’d do it, but apparently not. With Stanley gone I’ll have to do some serious re-evaluating. I’ve kept in my head the idea that Kerri and Prudence might be working together, and two duos can end up being four. A possible minority is better than a definite one, it just requires me playing a little harder. (laughs)
Ashanda-Jane Washington

Following Ashanda’s confessional, we see Josephine catching up with Ruben and Forrest.

Josephine: We’ve got some serious discussions to have.

JosephineShabazzLvR With one decision, everything has fallen out from underneath me. I had my game planned out, keeping a four with the Vaitapes and a four with Lisette, Ashanda and Stanley. Now, Stanley changing from Kerri to Prudence has got them thinking that the Vaitapes are working together. They want him gone and I’m the fifth they need to do it. I have no clue what’s going to happen from here and where I can go, whether I should vote with Vaitape or not. I needed to talk to Ruben and Forrest to at least know where their heads were at. Stanley has lost my trust, but if I need him to be in a good spot, so be it.
Josephine Shabazz

Ruben: Has <expletive> hit the fan because Stanley changed the vote?

Josephine: Yes it has. Ashanda and Lisette are convinced Vaitape are together, so they want to get rid of him now.

Forrest: So our choices are between Stanley and Prudence?

Josephine: Basically. Kerri’s not going to vote for anyone but him, and I wish Stanley had the sense to see this. She and Prudence have been the ones saying that Vaitape are together since we got here.

Ruben: Ugh, Stanley, why did he put us in this position? Now we have to go to rocks and prove them right, or send him to the wolves and hope the four don’t stick together.

Forrest: For what it’s worth, I think we need to go to rocks. I’d be willing to do it just to spice the game up a bit. Prudence and Kerri weren’t willing to work with us before and who says they’re willing to do it now? Ashanda and Lisette wouldn’t want to put us as swing votes, I don’t think.

Ruben: I dunno, Kerri gave me a lot of information and said she’d work with us if Stanley went home. I don’t see Kerri working with Ashanda and Lisette even if they wanted her to.

Forrest: Still, it’s free agent Kerri, cutthroat players Ashanda and Lisette, and someone who’s committed to us, Stanley. I know who I trust, and the dude just wanted to get the votes off of him. Misguided? Yeah, but if Kerri had been coming for my ass, I’d try to cut a deal too.

Josephine: Not this <expletive> again. I don’t want us divided. Give me a name and give it to me now.

Ruben: Forrest, how determined are you to save Stanley?

Forrest: One hundred percent.

Ruben: Well, honestly, I want to send him home.

Josephine: (hands on hips) Ruben. You two are seriously making me decide this again.

Ruben: Look, Forrest, think of it this way: is Stanley really worth it to go to rocks for after all this, when we’ve got a four who are split right down the middle?

Josephine: We are making a decision and we’re making it now. Figure something out because we’re not dividing ourselves over Stanley.

Forrest: Alright, let’s do it.

The three get into discussions again. The camera cuts to Ruben’s confessional.

RubenArkleyLvR Thanks to Stanley, now the option is either tie the votes with him, or send him home. I know what I wanna do. Stanley’s playing too hard, he’s trying to cut deals and he’s being untrustworthy. Plus, I want to redeem my own game and I’m not putting that down to a damn rock. The one person I do trust on this tribe, Forrest, is being stubborn about sending Prudence home. Like, yeah, the only thing you can trust about her is that you can’t, and she’s an expert at selling people out, but she’s got votes behind her. (sighs) We need to come to an agreement. I don’t think the Otemanu members are strong, so maybe one of them would flip at a tied vote. That’d be a big risk to take, but Forrest has been my main man so far.
Ruben Arkley

As the castaways grab their torches to head to Tribal Council, the camera focuses on Prudence, who puts a few things in her bag, but leaves most of her stuff at camp.

Prudence: Just enough to be polite, but I’m coming back here.

Prudence smiles as the camera cuts to her confessional.

PrudenceQuartermainLvR I’m confident I’m not going home. Ordinarily I just wouldn’t pack my bag in a situation like this, but people called me rude last season, so I’ve packed enough just to be polite. I don’t see how the vote could go any way other than Stanley, though. Ashanda and Lisette would be crazy to give the game to Vaitape after I exposed Stanley in front of them. Nobody knows about the secret alliance I have with Kerri, and unless the Vaitapes want permanent targets on their backs, they’ll sacrifice Stanley to the wolves. Kerri was willing to go with them if Stanley was gone, so if anyone else goes home, this has to be the dumbest tribe in Survivor history.
Prudence Quartermain

The eight members of Vaitape make their way to Tribal Council as the sun sets.

Tribal Council- Vaitape[]

The eight members of Vaitape walk into Tribal Council and sit down.

Courtland: Vaitape, welcome to your Tribal Council. Ruben, what’s the dynamic like at the new swapped tribe?

Ruben: It’s really interesting and it’s causing some pretty big waves. On both tribes, there was a group of five that blindsided a group of four, and it ended up that each group was split half and half on the new tribe. (laughs) So a lot of people are talking, things are pretty fluid, and I don’t think anyone knows what’s gonna happen tonight.

Courtland: Wow, it seems like a lot of information has been given out, then! Prudence, what does that mean for this vote?

Prudence: Yes, information has been free-flowing, but for some reason, the dynamics aren’t shifting like Ruben seems to be implying they are. A lot of the time has been spent with the tribes sticking together or worrying that they’re going to.

Courtland: Wow, that surprises me. Despite the splits in the group, the tribes are staying along tribal lines? Lisette, talk me through this, because this isn’t somethin’ I would have picked.

Lisette: I think it’s fear. We know what things are like within our own dynamic, but we don’t know what it’s like with the others. There are people we can’t wait to be rid of from our own sides, and I think that goes for everyone, but there’s always the rumours floating around that the sides are secretly sticking together and it’s making us play defense.

Courtland: Stanley, it sounds like people are really starting to play an individual game here. With everyone wanting to survive, what do you think is gonna be the criteria for sendin’ someone home?

Stanley: The criteria is basically who we can get the votes on. Everyone’s trying to say. People are willing to cut deals and do whatever to get by. I know my name is on the chopping block yet again because of my challenge performance, and Kerri knows that her name is on the chopping block because she’s been the most vocal since we got here. Normally people would be like “it’s between them” but on this tribe there’s a chance for “let’s work together and find someone else.”

Courtland: Kerri, does that ring true to you?

Kerri: Hell yeah. I’ve been vocal since I got here. Everyone who knows me knows that I’m not gonna back down. I’ll work with people if I like them or not. I’ll go to rocks if it comes to that, and if that’s what gets me sent home, I’ll be pissed off but it’s worth it. I’ve said it about a thousand times but I’ll die before I put myself in a bad position.

Courtland: As I’m listenin’ to this Tribal Council, I’m gettin’ more and more surprised. Ashanda, it seems like everyone’s playin’ defense despite the cracks that are obvious in the dynamic. What do you think is gonna happen after tonight?

Ashanda: After tonight, once it’s clear who’s in a good spot, everyone will start playing offense. Nobody wants to give up the potentially bad spot, so we’re at a deadlock. When it breaks, things are gonna start being more fluid.

Courtland: Forrest, what’s the biggest frustration for a player stuck in this situation?

Forrest: It’s frustrating to watch people panic over the situation, be too afraid to make moves, and not realise that they have an opportunity to be truly safe if they’d just take it. It’s the fact that nobody wants to take a risk, that we’re stuck here waiting for the first move to be made rather than just making it.

Courtland: Josephine, do you think it’s more important to play offense or defense at this point? And will someone from this tribe be able to win playing that way?

Josephine: I think you have to roll with the punches. When an opportunity arises to play offense, and by an opportunity, I mean one that’s reasonable and not going to cost you the game, you do it. Other than that, you have to be on your guard all the time, and I think people will win if they remember that. If people aren’t comfortable playing defense, they’ll leave themselves open, and that’s when the trouble starts.

Courtland: Well, it sounds like it’s goin’ to be an interestin’ Tribal Council for everyone involved. Lisette, you’ve got immunity. What are you gonna do with it?

Lisette: I’m going to keep it tonight, Courtland.

Courtland: Lisette is guaranteed to see the next cycle. The same can’t be said for the rest of y’all, and very soon, someone’s gonna be walkin’ out of the game. Let’s get this vote underway. Forrest, would you like to start us off?

Forrest: Of course.

Forrest goes to cast his vote, which is not shown. He is then followed by Ashanda, Kerri, and Prudence. The former two aren’t shown, but Prudence’s vote for Stanley is.

PrudenceQuartermainLvR (voting for Stanley) This is the only vote that makes sense, so it better be the one that’s happening.
Prudence

Up next to vote is Ruben, whose vote isn’t revealed either. Next is Lisette, then Stanley. Stanley’s vote for Prudence is revealed.

StanleyMoriartyLvR (voting for Prudence) I’m sick of being the target, so hopefully we band together to get the troublemaker out.
Stanley

The last person to vote is Josephine, who goes up to the booth calmly and confidently. As she begins to write a name, the camera fades away and she is next shown returning to her seat.

Courtland: I’ll get the votes.

Courtland leaves and returns a short time later with the urn.

Courtland: The votes are now locked. The person with the most needs to say their goodbyes and leave Tribal Council immediately. Let’s get started.

First vote...

STANLEY. (1-0)

Stanley shakes his head.

PRUDENCE. That's one for Stanley, one for Prudence. (1-1)

Prudence looks annoyed, while Kerri starts chuckling to herself.

STANLEY. (2-1)

PRUDENCE. We're tied at two for Prudence, two for Stanley. (2-2)

STANLEY. (3-2)

Stanley sighs.

STANLEY. We're now at four votes Stanley, two votes Prudence. (4-2)

Stanley: Ugh.

As Stanley starts shaking his head, the camera goes to Josephine, Ruben and Forrest, while Courtland pulls out the next vote.

Sixth person voted out of the game is...

STANLEY.

Five is enough tonight. Please grab your torch.

Stanley nods, then starts to gather his stuff. Prudence and Kerri are both smiling from ear to ear.

Stanley: Well, well, well, Kerri passed up on an opportunity to get rid of Prudence. Interesting.

Kerri: It's called being smart, buddy. Try it some time.

Stanley: If you say so.

Stanley stands up, having collected all his stuff, and starts moving towards his torch.

Stanley: Thanks to whoever voted with me. Good luck, everyone else.

Forrest: You're very welcome, Stanley.

A few people turn in shock to Forrest. Forrest is just laughing.

Stanley: Well, thanks, man. Wish a few more people had followed your lead.

Stanley places his torch in front of Courtland.

Courtland: Stanley, the tribe has spoken.

Courtland snuffs Stanley's torch.

Courtland: It's time to go. Head out.

Without a word, Stanley heads out of the Tribal Council area, down the path, and disappears into the night.

Courtland: Well, y'all played your defense and the deadlock has been broken. Now what? Head out to camp and get some sleep. I'll see you soon.

The seven remaining members of Vaitape leave.

Voting Confessionals- Vaitape[]

ForrestStephensonLvR (voting for Prudence) I'm tired of playing nice. Fought for Stanley, wasn't listened to, so I'm gonna start trying something new.
Forrest

AshandaJaneWashingtonLvR (voting for Stanley) You need to calm down. Go get a massage or something.
Ashanda

KerriThompsonLvR (voting for Stanley) I told you a million times I wasn't working with all four Vaitapes. You wanna sell someone out, do it right. Thanks for doing 90% of my work for me.
Kerri

RubenArkleyLvR (voting for Stanley) We had a good vote and you ruined it. You're playing fast and loose and I don't trust you anymore, so you gotta go. Not going to rocks.
Ruben

LisetteMcDonaldLvR (voting for Stanley) You weren't even going home. Now I'm convinced there's some Vaitape shenanigans going on behind the scenes. I'll never understand this.
Lisette

JosephineShabazzLvR (voting for Stanley) I came to play my own game. I can't waste my time trying to guess what you're going to do every five minutes.
Josephine

Final Words- Vaitape[]

StanleyMoriartyLvR I went down fighting. I was sick and tired of being a target all the time, so I tried to change things up, but it didn't work. At least I can go out showing people that I wasn't gonna be the doormat of Grenada. I think they should have taken the opportunity to get rid of Prudence. She'll be way too much trouble. I don't know why Forrest voted with me and no one else did, but maybe it'll kick something up on that tribe. I hope they start to play hard now that I'm gone.
Stanley

Amazing results on both tribes. This swap was so good. Watching Simon play his cutthroat game has me so happy. Go Simon! #SurvivorLvR

Gustav Jacobson (@DrGJNorway)

Someone check if hell has frozen over. Kerri and Prudence working together, being right, and being one of the tightest duos in the game? Crazy. #SurvivorLvR

Ebony de la Rosa (@EbonyIvoryPinay)

I have to laugh at Jensen being despised by almost the entire tribe and now being the swing vote next time Otemanu goes to Tribal! No idea what will happen on Vaitape. #SurvivorLvR

Will Donovan (@WDDoesntCare)

Stupid Stanley. I got 18 votes and didn't bitch once. As long as you don't go home, who cares. Simon and Nathaniel used Maverick's reputation perfectly but it'll bite them in the ass. Prudence can somehow never f*** go despite who wants her out. Great episode. #SurvivorLvR

Castaway Reactions[]

Stanley Moriarty (@GuitarsandBars)

Total mood is me being sick of being a target and going and making myself an even bigger target lmaooo I suck. #SurvivorLvR

Prudence Quartermain (@WardenPrudence)

Nobody sells out like the pro. People continuously try to get rid of me and it never works, because I'm good and people refuse to see it. #SurvivorLvR

Maverick Knightstone (@THEMAVOLUTION)

They wanted the Mavolution and they got him right at the end. Hahaha. Eat that. I truly knew I was gone from the moment we swapped so I was done playing nice by that point! #SurvivorLvR

Luca Enmore (@Lucathebirdlover)

OMG MAVERICK I'M SO SORRY :( #SurvivorLvR

Maverick Knightstone (@THEMAVOLUTION) replied:

All good man. A game is a game!

Simon Drysdale (@SDAFSTwitter)

Sorry Luca. Hahaha. But that was fun.

Next Time on Survivor...[]

  • Maverick may be gone, but his final words cause many waves throughout the Otemanu Tribe.
  • The members of Otemanu step up to play as friends become enemies and vice versa.
  • It's out with new and in with the old as, sick of their standing in the game, some Vaitape members dig into their past bag of tricks.
  • Otemanu aren't the only tribe changing up the game, as people look to find a new majority after Stanley's departure, and will do anything to get it.

Author's Notes[]

  • The episode was said by Simon as he re-evaluated his strategy following the swap.
  • Completely by coincidence, all the men from the Otemanu tribe stayed on Otemanu, while all the women swapped to Vaitape.
  • Jensen and Josephine had the most confessionals this episode, with six each.
    • Forrest had the least, with two.
  • At this episode's completion, Wilhelmina passed her pervious finish of 16th place.
