Amethyst Durant is a contestant from Survivor: Bioko.
Amethyst found herself in a position of power pre-swap as a swing vote and let this get to her head. She would often turn on people and go after who she perceived to be her biggest threat. When she hit the merge, she fell into the minority after siding with Martha, and failed to blindside Ebony the next vote. Now having a big target on her back and fast losing trust with everybody, she attempted to rally Vaska's alliance to blindside Manfred, proposing a final five deal to take out who she called the three biggest threats in the game. Unfortunately for her, nobody trusted her enough to go along with the deal and she was voted out.

What is your main strategy coming into the game? Although there are new experiences and twists on this new network, at its core, this is still the same game. It doesn’t matter how many people there are, what matters is that you play well enough to win, but not too well that you get voted out. I want shields, I want to make moves only when the time is right. I’m not going to jump out of the gate, but be the silent assassin.
How will you adapt to the unique, new experience of PRISM Network? After seeing the Infiltration twists last season, I know now to always be on my toes. I’m sure that there will be something that’s not “normal” and I’ll change my strategy accordingly.
Why did you apply for the show? For a fun, exciting, adventure, especially with the new network taking over and seeing how things panned out last season!
What is the thing that will make you most likely to win over everyone else? I grew up in a family of eight children, so I already know how to survive in large groups, when to bite my tongue and to deal with more alpha and more reserved personalities. We had two sets of twins, so naturally they’re closer to each other than the other kids, even though we all love each other, so I already know how dangerous groups can be.
What is one thing we wouldn’t know about you by looking at your photo? I’m a very fast runner!
Amethyst Durant already has experience surviving in a tribe as she comes from a family of eight children, including two sets of twins: Stephanie, Neveah, her twin brother Maddox, herself, Rashad, Lavender, and twins Julian and Sylvester. With an age range of eleven years between them, she can deal with people of all ages, intelligences and interests. Amethyst believes she was made for this game, as her job as an optometrist sees her interact with many people in her everyday life.
A Newark native, Amethyst graduated from Salus University in Pennsylvania with a Doctor of Optometry degree, before moving back to New Jersey and settling down in Moorestown to be close to her place of employment. While her academic results speak for themselves, Amethyst also performed well on the sporting field, winning several track and field events throughout her schooling career. She therefore believes the physical element of the game won’t be challenging for her either.
Amethyst is currently single, living with two roommates and her pet cat Tabitha.
